WHEN: present  WHERE: drop ship — trikru territory WHO: open to all — @kongedastarters
since making it to the ground, glass hadn’t found any opportunities to make it to the original drop ship site. to their people’s first graveyard. to visit wells. but as she sat there in silence beside his final resting place, she wondered how long it would have been before she followed him here, to an early grave. at the hands of one of their own no less. she sniffled, angrily pulling out the strands of grass by their roots, fighting the tears that dared spill over. ❝ i’m sorry, ❞ she finally whispered to no one. ❝ i should have been with you. ❞ glass admitted wishing she had gotten a glimpse of him before she’d bolted from the drop ship. even for just a fragment of a moment, perhaps she would have been willing to go, felt safe enough to board it. but she knew that she was only lying to herself.
the minutes quickly faded to hours and the light began to drain from the sky, but glass couldn’t seem to move. despite knowing the dangers that lurked in the forest, knowing she’d never be able to find her way back alone in the dark; she didn’t move. there was never sense of welcome or safety for her within arkadia, the remaining delinquents and other ark citizens had made that clear. she’d been one of the wealthy before her fall from grace, a delinquent destined for the ground after, but now she no longer held a claim on either identity. sitting alone in the woods was no different from being alone inside the gates of camp.

the sound of footsteps creeping along the forest floor were quiet, but glass heard them all the same and her hand moved to the dagger sheathed at her hip. it wasn’t like she knew how to use it or defend herself properly, but it wouldn’t stop her from trying. her dark gaze scanned the tree-line, head swiveling constantly as she tried to swallow her panic.  ❝ you best come out now, ❞ she warned firmly, yanking the blade quickly from it’s rightful place, the ringing echoed  through the small clearing.
