working on my carrd and referencing some things from the official timeline and thinking about how for a solid 2 (almost 3) years, the only kids in the guild were Laxus, Gray and Cana. This guild was flooded with adults and then there are just these three, and while Laxus would very much be an early teen when Gray joins, he's still probably too young to be considered an adult by the older members of the guild so he probably spent a fair amount of time with Gray and Cana until more kids started showing up. Just... thinking....

Vylante being made to be a ship next to Zanvis and Garrance is where it went wrong for me. Aswell as the heavy mischaracterization in the fan content of them and fetishization of gay relationships in that era as a whole, mostly that actually.

To me, peak Vylante dynamic would be the dynamic in context of Zane's (and Garroth's sometimes) beef with Gene. Like tfw you hate eachother but your younger brothers are in love.

I want stuff like Dante brings Gene along with him to the Ro'Meave Christmas Dinner and it causes the entire dinner to end in disaster.

vylante was a ship for literally one reason and that reason was "well garroth is dating laurance and zane is dating travis so ig vylad can date dante"

they were never characterized correctly which sucks because it could be such a good ship but it was ruined by the fact that the fandom was like. exclusively 8-12 year olds

Literally everything I write, turns to angst. So it surprises me when I write something up and there's nothing angsty about it. But I do want more of those fun, lighthearted threads. But I'm a sucker for angst.
