         —           rowan wouldn’t be here if she had anywhere else to go. even as she knocked on the door, her hands trembled slightly, and she knew it wasn’t fair. she knew it wasn’t fair of her to show up unannounced and ask for help after the way she had acted, after the time that had passed. but she was coming down from a pretty gnarly high, and it was raining something fierce, and she was too far from home to get there safely. she was in no state to make decisions for herself, let alone show up unannounced at her ex’s house. her heartbeat thrummed just under her skin as she waited for the other to open the door. if they even did.

open to: females / nonbinary plot: our muses had a flirtation thing going on and rowan accidentally caught feelings. now she’s trying to break it off before either of them gets hurt.  muse: rowan henare. 22. lesbian. zoo worker / university student studying archaeology. awkward and used to people only being nice when they want something.

I CAN’T DO IT.” it hurts too much. but she’d never really admit that out loud. who wants to admit that they’ve caught feelings and don’t know what to do with them now that the person of their affection clearly is just flirting with them for fun. rowan isn’t dumb. she wasn’t actually expecting a relationship out of this. but she didn’t know it was going to hurt quite so much.
