@deathtaught : it feels like everyone’s growing up all around me.

mycroft lets out a snort, pushing his sunglasses further onto his face. "yeah, get used to it, buddy. people do that. they'll age and then die. it's what humans do. it what should have happened to us. but alas," he waves his hand between them, "we are still here. forever stuck." a passing thought about his children, long dead and turned to dust, flitters through his mind. he wishes they could have grown up and got to experience life, a full life. not like himself. no, he wouldn't wish that on anyone.

he sighs, glancing at jack with a more sympatric look. "i know you've only been with desmodus, but i've had lovers age and, eventually, die. it doesn't get easier. why do you think i've never gotten serious with anyone? i know the ending and i refuse to change that for them. even if it breaks my heart every time."

it was funny the little things that helped mycroft to enjoy his afterlife. annoying jack, was one of those things. and there was nothing that annoyed jack more than mycroft flirting with desmodus. it wasn't like he meant anything by it, mycroft ( for the most part ) respected the sanctity of marriage ( sometimes ). or at least, he knew desmodus wouldn't actually sleep with him ( not that mycroft would say no, of course ).

looking at jack out of the corner of his eyes, mycroft smiles at desmodus. runs a hand lightly down the front of his shirt. "now you're so cute. i like your style," he hums, letting his fingernail catch on a button.
