On March 15, Kira personally confirmed reports that she had launched a new label called ABYSS.

Posting her new company logo and several profile photos to Instagram, Kira wrote the following message in English:

“Hi everyone it's Kira It's been a crazy year with Blackpink and accomplishment so many dreams I never believed I could do and I wanted do something I was alwayys afraid to do and thats it begin my own journey as a artist and with that I established my own company "ABYSS". Meanwhile, all five BLACKPINK members recently renewed their contracts with YG Entertainment for group activities—meaning that Kira's group activities with BLACKPINK will still be managed by YG Entertainment.
