✹ — THE BITE LOOKS BAD. THE SKIN IS swelling now that lindsay has scratched the bite, with the area starting to become bumpy looking, and the bite itself darkening. that would not be an easy bug bite to shrug off, but given the island they were on and the extensive research rhaenys had done on its smaller occupants, she is not surprised. “ not at all, ” rhaenys consoles her, knowing full-well that there would be a freak out if she spoke plainly. maybe if she got a head start on this … “ let’s go to my cabin. i have some stuff you can use to help with that. ”

lindsay’s furrowed brow lifts and she smiles at the offer.  “you’re sooo nice, rhae,” she says, voice swelling with her gratitude.  even though she’s not really supposed to venture out to anyone outside of her alliance, she has a NASTY BUG BITE and it needs to be taken care of.  besides, rhae has such pretty hair, there’s no way she could have any interior ( ulterior ) motives for helping her.

             It really wasn’t a big deal to Gwen, but the sticky situation that had become of her cheek said otherwise for Lindsay. Did she just … kiss people on the cheek for no reason like that? She hated to admit it, but it made her want to protect her just a bit.

             Not just from holes in the ground like the one she’d fallen into ( she’d reference Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, but she highly doubted Lindsay had ever read anything in her life ), but from people like Heather as well.

             A lot of reality television liked to make a villain edit for a misunderstood character to make for a better story, but Heather wasn’t misunderstood and being edited to look bad. She was bad. Gwen would go as far as to say she was a mega bitch, but who was even asking about Heather?

             ❝ Uh, yeah dude. It’s not a big deal. ❞ Gwen said, as she flushed a soft pink that contrasted the blues and blacks she was wearing. ❝ Do your legs hurt at all? I mean, you didn’t sprain anything right? … You can lean on me if you need to. ❞

though her leg doesn’t hurt, not really, there is a slight pang to her ankle when lindsay tries to put pressure on it.  she’s a student athlete in both gymnastics and cheerleading so this is hardly the worst that’s ever happened to her, but she thinks it’s really nice of gwen to care.

maybe heather is wrong about her.  even though she could totally use a tan and maybe brighten up her wardrobe some, it’s not like gwen’s a totally bad person ( some people make poor fashion choices, but linday would totally help her if she asked !! ).  but she doesn’t think too hard about it, or much, instead leaning into the offering with all the naivety of her smile.

“i don’t think so,” she admits, but rolls her ankle anyway.  though she may not be the smartest competitor on the island, she does realize if she’s not useful to heather, that might kick her right out of the alliance.  her voice and smile are both a bit sheepish, “but i think i’ll lean on you just to be safe.”
