pairing(s): tom kaulitz x reader [2009 era] synopsis: tom got annoyed very easily. he would push away anyone who got too close, breathed too loud or spoke too much but you? you were the exception. especially if it made you feel a bit better. genre: mostly fluff with a bit of angst sprinkled in. a/n: totally not projecting with this one. i’m trying to get into harvard, wish me luck.

you head rested on tom's chest. you felt his chest go up and down as he breathed. he was scrolling your emails for you, hoping to see an acceptance letter from any of the schools you applied to. “nothing yet. i’m sorry, love.” he whispered, kissing you forehead before he started looking for some safety schools as both of you lay on his bed. you finally spoke up, the silence getting obnoxiously loud. "you know what happened today?" you said as you played with the loose string on his hoodie. he hummed a no before closing his laptop, placing it on the nightstand. he repositioned himself, placing his arm around your waist to pull you to his chest. it was warm, like a warm day of spring. his touch was gentle as he placed his hand on top of the hand you used to play with the string, he caressed the top of your hand with his thumb. "what happened, schatz?" he asked, "well you know jenna, right? apparently, she's dating this popular football player from america. and don't get me wrong, i'm happy for her but he just has the worst fashion taste. it's honestly so bad. i don't get how she's with him." tom would chuckle a bit as he listened to you rant, "maybe she's with him because of his personality?" he said playfully, trying to imagine just how bad the stranger’s clothes would have to be. you nodded, he was right but it felt good to talk about something so unserious while one of the most important decisions of your life loomed in the background. you would have to talk about it sooner or later but at least for now you could focus on spending time with tom.
