the ice queen gives the masked criminal a poker expression that perfectly conceals the fact she's deeply puzzled at who they're referring to. nevertheless, they sound like a adoring admirer and frost is relieved the person before them isn't one of her creepy 'fans' coming all this way to hunt her down for god-knows-what and judging by their vivid description, it awfully sounds like they were gushing about a overexaggeration depiction of hemlock.

frost narrows her eyes and reads their face and body language carefully. ❝ you talking about hemlock? ❞ her tone remains casual but there's a underlying hint of danger if they weren't cautious about their next choice of words. she knows river tends to be quite the loud mouth and it may be one of her weird friends she never plans on crossing paths with but still, frost has to ensure this person didn't have ulterior motives behind that happy-go-lucky exterior.

everything about the assassination contract had to be executed flawlessly: eliminate a political rival of lex luthor's with the help of their inside woman 'hack', stage the murder as heart failure, download intel in the main office, use a secret tunnel built within the embassy walls and stay hidden on the rooftops once they've made it out in one piece before anyone could catch wind of what had occurred, and so far they've checked each box, but there were other complications in their closure phase the moment they set foot on the rooftop of someone's penthouse.

frost was the first to sense the body heat radiating from a costumed corpse that looked as if he'd been there for a day or two. she tried to warn hemlock about not touching the ominous, glowing wrist watch emitting from the body and knowing them for awhile—it was like talking to a brick wall. that's the last time frost regrets not freezing hemlock's feet because everything started to go haywire for the duo after she toyed around with the device until a portal was shot wide open underneath them. the watch announces they're in the process of entering a parallel earth. she'll have to remind herself to also snap river's hands clean off.

louise uses a large portion of her powers to summon an ice slide and create a softer landing on a top of a skyscraper that rocked dangerously from a disturbed canon event taking place in...hong kong? there's a pounding headache coming on just now at the ear-piercing sound hemlock's watch is making. there's various error messages popping on the screen and flashing vibrant colours from the corner of their peripheral vision. the building groans louder every minute wasted on arguing and trying to figure out how the device worked.

the attempted joke out of the assassin's mouth is what sets louise off the most, seething to the point her voice will be hoarse tomorrow—that's assuming if they make it out of this alive. ❝ IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT WE'RE IN THIS FUCKING MESS! HAND OVER THE DAMN WATCH! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE DOING! ❞

7. Would your muse ever get married?

omfg this is a hard question! uhm...i think louise has thought about marriage at random times of the day but it's not a top priority right now because prioritizing her vengeance against firestorm will always be her ultimate life's goal (as depressing as that realisation is). but of course, louise has other important things to do in her spare time then try to kill him because there are a bunch of his other villains trying to end his career too. mostly her life involves T.A.B since she works for them on a daily basis until death arrives at her doorstep.

however, i do imagine it starts to get pretty lonely entering her various penthouses with nobody to greet her and it would explain why she's super close to criminals or monsters she befriended over the years and hangs out with them frequently just to fill the emptiness she's been feeling ever since crystal's death. louise's pride wouldn't admit it but she's actually lonely in the love life department because of her abandonment issues plays up in most of the relationships she's been in the past. there's never a moment where she thinks a long-term relationship will result in a marriage. it has always been casual relationships frost was familiar with over the years.

so personally speaking—i don't think she's ready for marriage. at least not until firestorm is eliminated. the concept of marriage does sound rather enticing, serene, a happily ever after if you will. well...that's if she was still young and carefree. i do think there's a alternative version of louise who never lost crystal. she would've actually considered marrying her on the spot but unfortunately crystal never felt the same way about her, so louise would never marry anyone who never really saw how monstrous she can get and accepted that nature with open arms.

in other verses where firestorm is dead, she will stop obsessing over him and refocus on working on her second goal which is to be happy even if it's without crystal and her own family. this will eventually lead to marriage at some point with someone she deems worthy of her time and trust. my current version of kf is just a conflicted mess of emotions and riddled with major abandoned, trust and commitment issues she's still trying to resolve even though it's a slow, arduous process to cope with. this doesn't mean she'll cheat! she just has doubts and paranoia about her partner leaving the marriage if they show a single hint of rejection.

16. Does your muse believe in soulmates?

that actually reminds me of her canon quote: "in a world where aliens can fly and regular men stand up to the gods. what are the rules of physics? is it now so tough to imagine them bending...to imagine them breaking?"

from louise's perspective, anything is possible in a world full of gods, monsters, magical gateways and metahumans cosplaying as hero/villain amongst the multiverse. she would believe there are soulmates out there somewhere in the world but she personally never experienced 'meeting the one' and even if it was a real thing? louise would rebel against fate. she would prefer to meet someone on her own accord, not follow a red string blindly just because the all mighty 'god' of whatever chose to seal their fates. plus, gaining 'true love' for a mere stranger is very unsettling as you can imagine lmfao. louise would want to actually know the person first! she hates it when people rush a relationship!

Slurping obnoxiously upon a Slurpee, River hands Louise one for herself. Blue raspberry, instead of the awful-looking sludge-colored monstrosity in her own cup that was born out of combining all of the flavors on hand.

And of course, both of them are in the largest sizes offered. Go big or go home, after all.

the lavender horizon begins its descent above their heads as the sun finally sinks down behind the skyline and the car park is now empty after a few teenagers hanging around the street corners have parted ways on their bicycles, leaving their marked territory in favour of returning to their homes. the sight of it alone leaves louise nostalgic of the past and ponders about her old friends for awhile until the moment of peace is cut short by river's infuriating slurping piercing her eardrums and as much as she would like to demand her to stop, she knows it'll only encourage the other to do the exact opposite. it wasn't like river is the type of person to follow orders from anybody but themselves. there's a likely chance they will keep up their antics out of spite and smack a taunt scross frost's face.

the killer decides to bite back her fustration and refocuses on spinning the car keys around her index finger, watching the pigeons fly by in the distance until the ghastly sight of the blue raspberry slurpee is offered to them. it's enough to make the deepest pits of her stomach perform a gag reflex and frost pushes the item back against hemlock's hand in a urgent manner.

❝ keep it. i had enough cherry suckers for today. ❞ it comes out as a tired sigh more than a firm demand and motions her head towards the getaway car her ally is leaning on, the keys start to dance around her finger and jingle its tune once more against the detestable slurping filling the vacant area. a familiar tingle runs down her arms just as the clouds begin to assemble. ❝ we should get going soon. i can sense the rain coming in. ❞
