ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀ ᴅᴇᴠᴇʟᴏᴘᴍᴇɴᴛ ᴍᴇᴍᴇ
full name: Louis Joshua Michael Allbright
gender & sexuality: Male, questioning/he doesn’t like labels.
ethnicity & species: African-American, human.
birthplace & birthday: North Carolina, December 1st (Sagittarius).
guilty pleasures: Telling horrible puns, and reading superhero comics.
phobias & fears: Thanatophobia (the fear of death) - not that he, personally is scared of dying but he does fear losing those closest to him. Sidonglobophobia (the fear of cotton balls) - just don’t touch him with cotton and you’ll be fine. It’s mostly just the way it feels against his skin and how it has a tendency to cling to his fingertips and nails.
what they would be infamous for: His horrible puns, piano skills, and in modern times, it would be memes.
what have they/would they be arrested for: Apocalypse aside, he’d probably get arrested for going too far with vandalism/pranks.
character you ship them with: I am a sucker for him and Clem ngl.
character most likely to murder them: Literally everyone who ever meets him.
favorite book genre: Adventure and/or fantasy.
least favorite book cliche: The super plain protagonist that ends up gaining all the potential love interests’ attentions without really doing anything amazing whatsoever.
talents &/or powers: Funny, good at piano, quite intelligent, good at making and setting up traps, charismatic, quite the good actor, singer, and dancer. Also good at playing baseball.
why someone might love them: He can make someone laugh, brighten someone’s day, he’s caring and lovable, and he has a good heart. He could so sweep someone off their feet with his charismatic personality, piano skills, and singing voice. He’s a true friend and will always be there when you need him the most.
why someone might hate them: He can be really annoying, too laid-back, non-committal, and a bit selfish in his actions. He doesn’t take things as seriously as some people might want him to, and his smart mouth could definitely get him into a lot of trouble. He can also be quite lazy and procrastinating.
how they change: I feel like as the story progresses he will slowly start to become a bit more mature. I feel like with the death of Marlon and Brody it will give him incentive to step up and take on a more leadership role.
why you love them: I’ve always been drawn to the more ‘comic-relief’ type characters and on top of that,he’s a very refreshing character to see show up this far into the apocalypse. We also have a lot in common so it’s hard for me not to love him, lol. I think he’s funny and cute and I love him, thx.

List of Misc Headcanons
Storms or Clear Skies?
Storms for sure. Never mind that he can absolutely use the storms to cover his tracks and make sure that no one knows that he may or may not have been in or near the premises. But storms have a way of calming him, the noise and everything is just something he’s always loved since he was a kid even though he didn’t have anywhere to stay.
Describe a physical action that shows complete trust.
Given that Therion doesn’t show much of himself to anyone, there are a lot of them. But the serious one is that Therion tends to avoid eye contact with people that he really trusts. Because trusting people means that he’s opened part of his soul to them, it's oftentimes easier for these people to look at him and know when he’s feeling something. So he keeps his eyes away from theirs so they can’t call him out on something, especially when they are around other people that might not have that same perk.
Describe a verbal way they would express complete trust.
Stuttering. Therion could lie out of just about anything if he wanted to, but given his almost non-existent interpersonal skills, telling the truth and to someone that he’s given so much of himself already, it makes him incredibly nervous.
Where is the most unusual place they’ve fallen asleep at?
Therion has absolutely taken naps in the middle of the mansions that he’s robbed. Call it a stupid thrill, but he always finds that they have too many rooms and that people hardly ever look in all of them. Watching the rounds of the guards means that he can take a well-needed rest in a too plush bed, and when he’s found himself well-rested and fully aware of his surroundings again he will finish the job.
Other than B&E, Therion has found that large trees are a good place to sleep if one is traveling alone. Most creatures that are aggressive are too large to climb trees, and those that are small enough to climb either leave him be or he can make it readily apparent that he is not a target they should pursue. If he can find a branch that holds his not significant weight, then he should be ok.
Have they ever dabbled in drugs? If so, what kinds?
  -  There is a bit of a yes and a no. Has he done drugs, absolutely, but not because he wanted to. Post betrayal there was a whole lot of physical damage that had to heal and Therion was in a lot of pain. But of course he had plenty of money from previous heists where he’d saved his cut of it, and he was not at all ashamed to dip into his savings to buy some strange poultice off someone if it promised to dim his senses or put him under for a while. But when he started running out of money to support both that and his staying in inns, he turned to actually crafted drugs that would dull the pain so he could get back to work. It would be how he picked up his habit of staking out places for long times before making a move.
Therion’s dependency on them at one point in his life has made him avoid any and all medications that he could. No apothecaries and nothing that would dull his senses. But the habits he picked up while on them would continue, namely, the only picking wealthy targets with high priced items that he could sell for an extreme price.
Something my muse loves and never gets tired of.
If we are doing wholesome things, it’s seeing kids doing cool things with their parents. Therion himself has never had any, and what childhood he had was spent being used to steal things that Darius was too big to get to. In a way, it was kinda something cool with his parent but the whole memory is soured by what happened between them. These kids actually enjoying their lives before they become adults and have to worry about things is great, and if there is a way to keep your valuables safe from him it’s to give them to your small children because they don’t need to be taken from, they’ll get fucked over my life later so they should have fun now.
Less wholesome… seeing the look on someone’s face when they realize their letter or ill-gotten goods are gone. They panic and blame everyone around them instead of the traveler that is happily paying for some food thing at another stall. Being that Therion only steals from the rich who can stand to lose some ( because everything else is no longer worth his skills ) he never feels bad about their panic. Had they come across something by reasonable means he would have left it, but something that was stolen from another who’d been sold the item isn’t ok. Greedy people aren’t worthy of his generosity, he finds.
What is your muse’s favorite time of year?
Of all the seasons, fall is definitely his favorite. It’s cool enough for him to wander around and not worry about looking odd with his shawl poncho and nevermind that there are caramel apples and other sweet goodies on the streets during all of that season. It’s the one time a year where he loiters in cities so he can have his fill of all the things that come from the harvests and its when he tends not to steal as much. Chances are the things he plans on stealing are going to still be there when the winter hits and he bundles up more because cold weather is not nice on all his healed joints and scars. Also, people seem happier in the fall time? So it's just nice all around, its why he likes it.
Something that makes my muse happy.
Believe it or not, he does enjoy sitting and reading quite a bit. Therion spends a lot of his time alone, so when he does find a book that he genuinely enjoys he’ll sit out in nature and reads most of one when he’s waiting for the time for one of his jobs to happen. When he’s done with one he’ll just drop it in some merchant’s stall or leave it in a tavern for someone else to pick up and read. The silence is the nicest thing about it, just the ability to sit and listen to the nature that often times he can’t hear in the cities where he works.
He absolutely won’t be telling this to any of his party mates either.

They’d been in enough of these odd arenas than he’d care to admit. Traveling with all these people meant helping them with their own quests, something that he’d come to somewhat enjoy with the months that stretched on with no end in sight. Some of them are even decent friends, though he’d never admit as much to them. But the point of the matter was that every single place they went to had some open space with a massive creature waiting to murder them and probably pick its teeth with their bones. And every one of these spaces seemed to drop off into nothingness, either flowing currents that were enough to suck them under and kill them, or just drops to an abyss that he could only imagine was filled with pointed rocks that would skewer them on impact.
No, he didn’t have a terribly dark mind, totally wasn’t worried about the drop.
So when the thing arrived almost entirely on cue, the party fell into their roles, Olberic and H’annit in front with a hesitant Therion. Cyrus, Tressa, and Primrose stood behind, ready to offer aid and their skills from being the ( debatably ) sturdier of their companions and yet behind them was their final two companions, ready to pull them back to their feet should they fall to the strikes they kept off their companions. The problem was that while this had worked for them initially, and with much fewer people to boot, the things that they were facing were becoming stronger and stronger. Hits that he might have been able to take were pushing his limits.
Case and point was when this creature decided that it had to follow up it’s previous assault with one so soon after. They didn’t have the time to react properly, and the light, slim framed thief was immediately sent flying, hitting the ground some distance away hard enough to rob him of breath. And stunned as he was, he barely noticed himself so close to the edge, until he’d rolled to the side to get up and met open air.
Barely a second to call for help, Therion all but waited for himself to be skewered by those unseen rocks at the bottom of the abyss.
Mercifully someone grabbed his hand, though it was several more seconds before he came to a jarring halt. When he’d actually come back to his senses, he actually looked up to see just who had let out what could only be classified as a groan. Cyrus being the one who’d all but dived off the platform to catch the falling criminal was unexpected, and Alfyn peaking over the edge as he tried his best to pull them back to safety might have been comical if the man with arguably the least upper body strength was the one holding onto him.
Death was still something just around the corner, and Therion made sure to grab at the scholar’s hands to keep him from letting go and dropping him while their apothecary called for help in pulling them up. Strong though he might be, pulling up two adult men would probably be a challenge. So when the sound of H’annit’s faithful companion up above gave him a sense of relief that was only rivaled when he saw Olberic’s arms joining Alfyn’s to pull both him and their scholar to safety.
Once Cyrus himself was back on the solid ground, he conceded his position to Alfyn and returned to ensure that the damned creature didn’t try and send any of the rest of them off the edge, allowing their companion to verify that Therion was in good health and hadn’t broken or fractured anything in the moments where he’d quite literally bounced off the ground and rolled to a stop. And with their traveling doctor’s expert opinion on his well being, Therion was sat behind both him and Ophilia under the strict orders that he was not to join their companions in the front or he’d cause undue stress on already broken ribs.
The whole thing would cause some change in how they approached this. He wasn’t allowed in front, his slight frame and light weight meaning he can get thrown around quite easily but he also wasn’t built in a way that he could take hits for anyone anymore. Not that anyone else was faring much better. Ophilia was spending most of her time ensuring that their two remaining defenders remained on their feet.
Only when they’d finished obliterating the monstrosity did they all relax, sitting quietly while those least injured stood watch so the others could get attention from those who knew enough, starting with Olberic and H’annit. Therion himself could sit and wait, so long as he didn’t move too much he wasn’t in much pain.
Perhaps it was time to pick up some new skills. Maybe a bit of magic, seeing as he’d be standing in the back for quite some time.

Write a headcanon about our muses - @ofchevalerie
Therion learning that Alfyn has something of a penchant for being a mischief maker makes him ask Alfyn to help him with certain things. He’s not going to ask if Alfyn will help him steal something, he isn’t about to potentially get someone else in trouble for helping him with his heists. But he definitely is ok with asking Alfyn to help him get something or somewhere. Therion being somewhere around a just below average height means that he may require the aid of his taller mischief maker in order to accomplish certain goals.
Outside of being a criminal, Alfyn is absolutely the one that Therion goes to for help for things he’s not tall enough to reach. Barring attempts to climb things to get whatever he needs, he will always go to alfyn first to reach things, because he’s somewhat afraid of Olberic teasing him for it, and he doesn’t need Cyrus talking about how his height is beneficial for certain things.

On Scarring
Therion has some pretty serious scarring on his torso and some smaller ones on his arms. The ones on his arms aren’t really visible unless you look for them, they are silvery on already pale skin and just short of taking his arm in two hands to investigate them, it would take an eagle-eyed someone to see them. There are a few on his neck and one on his face, but again they are barely visible to any but the most obsessed of people. The ones on his torso are readily visible, hardly needing to be anywhere near him to see them. Large and discolored because they didn’t heal neatly until after a traveling apothecary tended to him, if one happens to see him changing out of clothing from a fair distance, it’s still apparent that he’s not lead the easiest life.
UPDATE: The lovely moonliitwaltz provided me with the image for this, but Therion does indeed have a rather deep scar on his cheek. Logic says based on how he has parted his hair that it likely damaged his eye in some way. For blog canon, Therion has maybe about 25% of the sight he should have in that eye, and it’s why he keeps it covered and his hair long. The part is made thick enough to keep light from irritating his impaired vision. He has slightly better eyesight at night because of it, though it isn’t enough to make a difference, and he’s learned to adjust how he does things to deal with a slight lack of depth perception. It’s the only scar that he’s not keen on letting people see.
The scars themselves come from when Darius pushed him off the cliff after their big heist. The betrayal stung, and while Therion eventually got over the feeling of rage that came with knowing someone he trusted never had his interest in mind. Falling from a clifftop of that height into a ravine that may or may not has had a river at the bottom would have seriously injured or killed him, but given that it looks like the Cliftlands there is definitely a river at the bottom. Therion likely hit the water and was washed downstream to Clearbrook where some kind person fished him out of the water and found him help that he desperately needed.
At the minimum it likely took the better part of six months to recover fully, meaning all range of motion returned and with zero lasting effects. For the sake of this blog, it’ll be four years since the whole thing happened, and he’s had plenty of time to hone his craft beyond what he was doing when he was still working with his “partner” Darius.
The most they ever bother him is when he is in cold places. People touching ( which none ever had, he is truly the definition of a virgin ) won’t bother him and he has no issue with people looking at them ( again, has never happened ). They are just a reminder that trusting people is dangerous, and he needs to be careful who he gives that trust to.
