What was he even supposed to say to that? How was he even supposed to feel for that matter? He was hurt. Upset that this would be brought up so out of the blue. Mad at himself for lying to him for so long. And mad that Bovis didn’t understand.

“listen, you think i like lyin’ to you? maybe consider why i’m doin’ it in the first place before you come makin’ me seem like the bad guy. do you think i’m doin’ this just for fun? you really think i enjoy makin’ excuses for why i’m late or why i go missing for a few days before coming home bloody and beaten? it hurts me just as much as it hurts you, babe.”

It wasn’t like him to blow up like that, especially not on Bovis. But he had been beating himself up over this so much lately that this just tipped him over the edge.
