“Okay, sure. You didn’t mean to. It doesn’t take away from the fact that you did.” Gwen couldn’t believe she was roped into a conversation with Duncan after trying to forget about him and everything relating to her reality tv days. Despite the many years since the last time the two had seen each other, being around him brought her right back into the headspace of the worst part of her life. She was a bit more irritable, grouchy, and lost just at the sight of him. Even the anger she held onto since then had been brought back up, like it’d remained dormant until now. “I mean, I should’ve seen it coming. You and your ex on the same show, how could that not be distracting? But vying for her attention when you said you were over her, now that was fucked up.” She tried laughing it off but really, it wasn’t funny. Just an uncomfortable memory to reminisce on. “You doing that made things a lot more clearer for me though so, I guess, thanks for that. You should probably do some introspection of your own, maybe you’d finally realize your type is just girls who aren’t into you anymore.” She recognized her words were a bit harsh but she didn’t regret them. It simply came to a surprise to her that no matter how long it took to hide the emotional wounds from that part of her life, they were still fresh upon reflection.

Gwen didn’t mean to hesitate, but there was some skepticism on her part regarding her trust in Slightly to take on the challenge of working on both the soundtrack and the score. There was no doubt of his talent, which was made well aware of when she first saw him perform, but he was also lacking in experience that a big-budget movie maybe needed. “It’s just that we’re supposed to be running on a tight schedule and I still haven’t heard many updates from either of you on the song.” She did feel partially bad for it being only Slightly that she was confronting when she should be talking to Ember as well but that girl seemed to completely disappear whenever she wasn’t on the clock. Her inability to be reached after work was something Gwen would envy had she not been depending on her for her part in the soundtrack. “What’s taking you guys so long? Is it writer’s block? Creativite burnout? Are you not working well together?”
