By Ken James: I was so stoked to go take a picture of this barn, but then out of nowhere it decided to rain all day. I was quite bummed because I really had a picture in mind and knew it would be basically impossible because I needed to leave this day. Turns out it rained enough to provide a few nice sized puddles and the photo I took I like better than if it didn't. *However, Ryder had an even better time 🤦‍♂️.

By Ken James: The moon comes up as the sun goes down in this photo. It was perfect as the fading sun was still illuminating the whethered mountains. The sky turned a dark magenta that faded into a blueish purple. I never seen anything like it.

By Ken James: I drove all day I parked near cliffs in Utah when it was dark. It was still raining. Ryder and I ended up sleeping in, but when we woke up and walked outside the truck camper, this is what was waiting for us!

By Ken James: Not to overwhelm your eyeballs with color, but I'm basically like nature's journalist. This sunset in Pacific Beach San Diego was one of the most colorful I have ever seen.

By Ken James: I loved the way the speckled sun illuminated the red dirt under the water and the way the river created a break in the trees leading up to the mountain in Yosemite.

This was an epic storm to witness on Lake Michigan or Superior (it's a couple of years old, and Ken didn't remember). There was a bit of a lull in the winds, and he immediately threw up the drone and fought the wind to get the composition that he wanted.

By Ken James: A flashback to fall when the sun was setting on these falls. The warm sun hitting the water droplets and scattering the orange light around made this one of my favorite waterfall pics.

By Ken James: I wasn't satisfied with the last shot I had at Gooseneck State Park, so I went back and stayed another night. You never know when your ability to capture scenes like this will end, so I want to fully take advantage of it while I can.
*Plus, Ryder really seems to enjoy it, as you can see from the next photo.
*I wish the moon would've allowed for some astrophotography, but you take what you can get.

By Ken James: I hope you like layers because Utah is like a landscape birthday cake loo. I actually shot this with a long zoom on my phone. That's why having a long zoom comes in handy, so you can capture the layers using compression on landscape photos.

By Ken James: This photo was taken from N. Cascades national park. The clearness and cleanness of the water is something you should witness. It was the perfect place for a hot and hazy summer afternoon.

By Ken James: Who doesn't love a beautiful dramatic sky. This was taken with my drone using a slow shutter to try to smooth the water out just a tad.

The last gasps of the warm sunlight cutting through the Redwoods.
Forest photography can be tough, especially when there isn't fog. There's so much going on it can be difficult to isolate a subject, but it can be done.

Have you ever just looked at a large mountain or rock structure at different times of the day? The difference how flat it looks around noon to how defined it looks around sunset or sunrise is astounding.

By Ken James: This was that last little bit of warmth from the sun before a bitter cold night in the mountains. There was a strange teal in the sky, almost like what you'd expect to see in a severe thunderstorm. The coolest part was it was reflecting off of the snow.
Anyway, the propane in my camper ran out early in the morning, so Ryder and I had kind of a rude awakening with no heat. It's just part of the adventures, I suppose.

By Ken James: Does it ever feel like the whole world is going the same way? Wellllllll this day, it really was including the road, the mountains, the clouds, the and the ridgeline.
