Thinking about Shadow Ops Goro rots my brain in the best ways. Have I played Arena? No. Does that stop me? No.

I’ve finally made the difficult decision to move Goro onto a fresh blog. I’ve got one mostly set up already and ready to go. I’m gonna miss this blog for sure. || YES god if Goro and Ken had met they probably would've been really good friends because they're just secretly big nerds over heroes.

Sometimes I really love the idea of Goro choosing the name of Akechi for himself. It's an identity of the person he wants to be and the justice he wants to embody. But at the same time I can't help but also love it just being his mother's maiden name. That it's something he could've changed but kept to keep her memory alive. Like it's a nod to him still trying to be her hero but it's also special to him because it was hers, even if the rest of her family wasn't so accepting. And if it's the instance of the latter, I kind of imagine that Shido didn't care enough to know Goro's mother's name. Or that she perhaps went by a different name when dealing with clients (and I do feel like Shido would take advantage of such services). So him keeping Akechi wouldn't hinder his plans to take out Shido because how's he to recognize a name he never cared enough to know to begin with?

Shido being "the one chosen by god" is really just him being the biggest pawn to bring about the conflict of ruin vs rehabilitation. He's the catalyst for bringing Goro into the world and effectively making his life a living hell. He was the one who flipped Joker's entire world on its head that sparked his will of rebellion. The God of Control and Igor literally said "we want these two" and then pointed at Shido like, "yes this is the asshole that will be the commonality" (even if it wasn't intentional for Igor's part). So in saying that, wouldn't that make Shido the biggest puppet of them all? That he is put on a pedestal but is destined to serve no real purpose other than propelling the two destined to clash forward? Shido thinking he's special but isn't. Goro wanting desperately to be special but thinks he's not when really he is. Karma really is a bitch to Shido and I love it.

Me finding some random Goro fan out in the wild makes my brain go nuts. Like yes!! Me too!!! I care him lots!! I am totally normal about him!!

Since it's finally the end of 2023, I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone for being amazing and for sticking around. 🩵 This year was one of the worst years of my life. I had so much loss and grief in such a short period of time and I spent at least half of this year dissociating because it was too much to handle. It took away my creativity and all I wanted to do was isolate myself. And honestly it's really difficult seeing others that had a great year (even if I'm so happy for those that did) when this year was so traumatic for me. It terrifies me for 2024 with all its unknowns. But recently I heard a quote, "you can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy." That's the mentality I want to take into the new year. I have some cool stuff coming up and I want to indulge more in the things I love again. I hope to be more present in my endeavors and with friends. I want to write more and find the confidence within myself to push forward even when I feel myself doubting. I want more independence for myself and find ways to help out my mom in particular. I know it's a lot and the goal is daunting, but I'm ready to finally attempt taking back my life to make it what I know it can be. And for others that struggled this year too, you've got this too! We're gonna make 2024 ours. I believe in you! So once again, thank you all for being here and being the most wonderful people. I hope you all have a happy and fulfilling new year. Much love. 🩵

It's taken me far too long, but I've finally redone my rules page! So please give them a read here! Some things are the same but I've also added some new things that are pretty important. I've also updated my own personal page here! I'm planning on redoing my pinned post and going in to spruce up Goro's about page, hopefully, in the next few weeks!

I will forever think about how Goro is mature mentally and physically but definitely not emotionally. That emotions are always something super foreign to him because no one has ever really taught him how to nurture that side of him. And overall it's just easier to be angry, especially when dealing with complex feelings that he doesn't understand. Because anger is familiar and protects him. It puts up this wall and pushes people away before they can hurt him. It's kept him going for so long that anything else is terrifying. Without his anger who is he? Strip all that down and what's left underneath? Emotionally, it's a kid. A kid that never got to grow up slowly, who was forced to be an adult and independent at a young age because no one else was there to help. The anger protects that kid beneath all the walls, but it also buries them beneath his trauma because being angry is easier than dealing with the hurt kid who was orphaned and unwanted.

Wouldn't it be super crazy of me to respond to things that have been sitting in my box for the short span of a year? Hahaha that'd be sooooo wild.

They really just said, "let's go ahead and stroke this asshole's ego." I hate him so much (endearing).
