Taemin laughs and he leans to kiss Kibum’s cheek. “It was! I’m not denying it, it was a good choice! I’m glad I get to keep you as a friend, because I’m rather selfish and now I get to have you as my friend for forever,” he says, his cheeks aching a little from how much he’s been smiling that day. A warmth blooms in his chest and he steps a little closer to Kibum, feeling the best he’s felt in a while.
The next bit of information has his eyes widening, but not much else. He’d known that Jae and Kibum had a strange, on-again-off-again relationship, but to hear that Jae felt so much towards Kibum was surprising. “Are you ok, hyung?” he asks, knowing that’s not what Kibum expected to hear, but he’s watched both of them for so long that he knows Kibum must be in more pain. Jae is the kind of person who revels in space, while sometimes he thinks that Kibum tends to flounder. “That must have been difficult to hear.”
When Kibum doesn’t say much to Taemin’s remark about him being there for him, he just bumps their shoulders together. “I know you’re hard on yourself, but consider this, you’re my longest standing friend. If you really were a bad friend, would I still be here? No. But I am, and you’re here, too, and that’s what matters. We might part ways for a bit, but we always come back to each other.”
Taemin begins to laugh again and he shakes his head as he moves to flag down a taxi, his heart racing with excitement. “No, no, you’re my hyung,” he says. “You’re not imposing. I want you to come meet Namjoonie! He loves people and he’s so cute, he’s just now learning to walk and stuff!” The car parks in front of them, and Taemin climbs in and tells the driver his address, directing him to a rich part of the town.

Taemin shook his head. “It’s not a problem...we’re not too far out, so it shouldn’t be a huge deal? At any rate, I’m gonna try to get us back to shore,” he said, shivering. “I’m just cold, but I don’t know what to do, I don’t have a change of clothes...” He moved to start the boat up, then he began to steer it back to shore.
“I would have a hard time seeing as well to be honest.” He said. “Sorry for the inconvenience. The storm got a lot worse by the time I had got out here. And then I saw you fall in so yeah. Are you okay by the way?”

Taemin blushes and he playfully shoves Kibum’s shoulder. “Yah, why did you never tell me?” he asks with a soft whine, but he grins. “But I’m glad, too. We were both messed up and we might have messed each other up even more.” He squeezes Kibum’s hand back as they walk, smiling gently. “Did he say where he was living when you talked last? He hasn’t contacted me in years.”
“Hyung, you did so much for me,” Taemin murmurs, his cheeks going a soft shade of pink. “Ever since I stumbled into you, you’ve helped me out a lot, I promise. I know you’re hard on yourself, but I promise, I needed you and most of the time you were there for me.”
“Namjoon,” Taemin says with a smile, tugging Kibum in a different direction. “He’s at my house with my umma since I knew we were going to hang out today, so she agreed to babysit. Wanna come meet him right now? He’s still really small and cute, and he’s really handsome.”
