I remember being so weak, I couldn’t do a push-up. I love strength training and seeing how far I’ve come. I completed another trifecta weekend. 22 miles, 75 obstacles.

I finished a half marathon this past weekend. This was a fun, flat course with over 26,000 runners. I didn’t train for it at all. 100% don’t recommend. In my late teens/early 20’s,I use to do this all the time. Now in my 30’s…I gotta train! I was feeling the pain in my right foot around mile 9. By mile 11, my legs were tired! I’m not a road runner…I’m a trail runner. I felt horrible the next day! I was limping and could barely climb the stairs. Last night I elevated my foot, soaked in Epsom salt, used my massage gun, and stretched/did squats. Today, I felt completely normal. The body fascinates me. I suppose all the bootcamp classes I take kicked into gear and helped my body recover faster. Anyway, Spartan trifecta next weekend!

My ankles are not okay! Training in the winter is brutal. My coach calls me out every time I do road runs. So I’ve been doing more trail and hill repeats these past two weeks. My ankles feel weak and my hips are sore. I feel like rocky when he’s training in Russia.

I took a good two month break but this week, I’m back at it. We had 6-8 inches of snow this weekend but that didn’t stop my coach. He said regardless of the weather, we are going out to run this week. I’ve been enjoying e-fuel as an energy drink. It has so less sugar than most popular brands. Cheers to training for the next 5 months!

I’ve never felt a love this safe. This secure. This abundant. This pure. This passionate. This beautiful. Please don’t listen to people saying this type of love doesn’t exist. That these types of men don’t exist. They do. They truly do. This type of love rarely ever (if ever) finds you when you’re looking for it. This type of love comes when you’re so in love with yourself, you attract your better half. I couldn’t be more grateful for the introspection I did before I met him. I fell deeper in love with myself and the man of my dreams found me. Real, genuine, passionate, pure love does exist.

For 2024, I’m signed up for one Spartan trifecta weekend and two half marathons. I might add more but I’m pretty content with those three. All are in different states, so it should be fun. I’m looking forward to the people I’m doing them with.

Whilst you nourish your body with exercise, slow yoga, nighttime body milk, adorn it with jewellery and sultry perfume, carefully drape it with clothes that fit… don’t forget to nourish your mind. Classical music, podcasts, brain games like crosswords, sudoku, mental math, art even if you’re terrible at it, gardening even if your plants never seem to grow, cooking even if you might burn the house down - embrace learning, embrace curiosity, and enjoy your own company. Be the best wife you could be to your own self first. Care for yourself, defend yourself, grow, teach, constructively criticise yourself; be the best parent you could be to yourself.

I did it! I earn my trifecta medals. I did the beast, super, and sprint. I also got an additional medal for completing it all in one weekend. This was the hardest race I’ve ever done in my life. A total of 75 obstacles and 22 miles this weekend. Aroo

Today I went on a different trail run and let me tell you…it was so damn hard! It was only 4 miles but 2 of those are straight uphill. My lungs were burning and my calves were on fire the whole time. I couldn’t understand why it was difficult until my coach mentioned how we went up over 1,000 ft in elevation to get to the top. It was over 8,000 ft by the time we reached the rim. I was thankful I made it and I wasn’t wheezing. I ran the whole way down with burning thighs. I need to keep utilizing this trail. The views were amazing. 8 more days until my spartan weekend. I’m nervous
