hittite seals
in last week's hittite class we came across official texts with seals pressed on them. despite the awful nature of the text (kings granting rule over some land to somebody; CTH 222), i really like the seals aesthetically. i'm happy that i was able to recognise some cuneiform signs i've been learning for the past month, today. the texts on the seals can mean something like ~ "THIS IS THE SEAL OF THE GREAT KING ḪANTILI AND WHOEVER OPPOSES MY DECISION SHALL DIE 🌸✨ uwu"

“There is no love without compassion. One who is compassionate manifests human solidarity by crying out with those who suffer, by feeling deeply the wound of ‘the other.’”
