2022 Theme:
EXALT THE LORD, WHO HAS ESTABLISHED US
based upon on Colossians 2:6-7
Dear Lord God,
We exalt You.
We are filled with awe and wonder as our praise joins the heavenly hosts saying,
Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts,
The whole earth is full of His glory.
Isaiah 6:3
You have established Your throne in heaven and the foundations of the earth.
You alone are the Creator; the earth is Yours and all it contains is for Your glory.
You created and established all of us as Your image bearers.
May our lips and lives continually praise You, reflecting and magnifying You in all our words and ways.
You are the author of our days, You have established Your plans and purpose for us.
We respond to your glory and authority in obedience to Your Word and will.
You have established prayer that we, Your children, can communicate with our Heavenly Father directing, strengthening, and discipling us in Your everlasting love.
We join heaven’s activities as we lift up our prayers and pour out our praise, repentance, thanks, intercession and supplication.
Lord, You have established our nation through the hearts of our founding fathers and the documents they penned declaring our dependence on Your sovereignty and supremacy.
We overflow with gratitude having been firmly rooted and built up in our faith in You.
Let our reputation be of our faith in Christ alone, our love for all people, and fruitful lives bearing the attitude, affections, and actions of Your Spirit, Who dwells and works within us and through us.
We pray for our nation: the Church, Family, Education, Military, Workplace, Government, Arts, Entertainment and Media.
United in Your love, we exalt the Lord who has established us.
A new study published today in the Planetary Science Journal shows that the TRAPPIST-1 planets have remarkably similar densities. That could mean they all contain about the same ratio of materials thought to compose most rocky planets, like iron, oxygen, magnesium, and silicon.
I pray for the nations and peoples that are in the midst of war, struggling to recover from brokenness and trying to rebuild after disasters.
Homes have been destroyed, businesses have failed and lives have been lost.
When I see destruction I can feel hopelessness.
In these moments, I look to Your Word for guidance.
'Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,'
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10
Lord, You are with us in the midst of our suffering and brokenness.
Your love for us will never be shaken and Your covenant of peace will remain.
Lord, I pray for all grieving nations and peoples, that Your love and peace will come to them...and that they will come to know that You are the one true God and Savior.
9 “Watch them come! They’ll come weeping for joy
as I take their hands and lead them,
Lead them to fresh flowing brooks,
lead them along smooth, uncluttered paths.
Yes, it’s because I’m Israel’s Father
and Ephraim’s my firstborn son!
And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.
Remember what you said to me, your servant— I hang on to these words for dear life! These words hold me up in bad times; yes, your promises rejuvenate me. The haters hate me without mercy, but I don’t budge from your revelation. I watch for your ancient landmark words, and know I’m on the right track. But when I see the wicked ignore your directions, I’m beside myself with anger. I set your instructions to music and sing them as I walk this pilgrim way. I meditate on your name all night, God, treasuring your revelation, O God. Still, I walk through a rain of derision because I live by your Word and counsel. * * *
May this Kwanzaa be an especially meaningful one for your whole beautiful family.
Nguzo Saba (The Seven Principles)
Each of the seven days of Kwanzaa is dedicated to one of the principles, as follows:
Day 1.Umoja (Unity): To strive for and to maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race
Hebrews 2:10-13 MSG
It makes good sense that the God who got everything started and keeps everything going now completes the work by making the Salvation Pioneer perfect through suffering as he leads all these people to glory. Since the One who saves and those who are saved have a common origin, Jesus doesn’t hesitate to treat them as family, saying, I’ll tell my good friends, my brothers and sisters, all I know about you; I’ll join them in worship and praise to you. Again, he puts himself in the same family circle when he says, Even I live by placing my trust in God. And yet again, I’m here with the children God gave me.
Don’t you see that children are God ’s best gift? the fruit of the womb his generous legacy? Like a warrior’s fistful of arrows are the children of a vigorous youth. Oh, how blessed are you parents, with your quivers full of children! Your enemies don’t stand a chance against you; you’ll sweep them right off your doorstep.
I know that You have called me for a special mission.
Every follower of Jesus has a mission for Your kingdom.
I pray that each day, I will seek and follow Your guidance, allowing You to work through me to accomplish Your purpose.
If my mission is to feed the hungry, take care of my family, reach out to the hurting, work with a group of children, preach to the multitudes, or lead a team—however big or small—I want to pursue my mission and bring glory to You.
May I be an example of your love and compassion as I go about each day.
