so i can totally see maeve and phoebe doing a ton of different careers but here would be my pick for them
maeve: child life specialist. she would be the psychologist adjacent person who helps kids in the hospital. she would talk them through diagnoses and procedures. she would be wonderful at it
phoebe: nurse. idk why i feel this so strongly, but i do. she would be a wonderful pediatric nurse. she would be so calming to the kiddos.
they would work in the same hospital and together sometimes :)

I think I'm not gonna ever be able to stop talking about how knox is from kansas  and therefore he should be doing 🫶💖midwestern things🥰💞
but i realized
all of his sisters are probably more midwestern than he is because they moved away from kansas while knox was in middle school, but his sisters were way older meaning they had more time being from kansas??
yeah :)

i just posted this, but i feel like karen was just done with so many characters arcs, so she just stopped? like maeve is done, knox is done, luis is done. we get a bit of coop bc he’s a fan favorite and some natewyn because they are her favorite. like she just decided that knox and maeve have finished their storylines, but she couldn’t fully get rid of them because it wouldn’t make sense, so she just sidelined them
i really liked one of us is back as a whole but i honestly think the book suffered from having too many characters going into it. i think knox got done particularly badly as basically his only plot in the entire book was to further phoebe’s and that made me sad, i missed him

it seemed like karen wrapped her story and arc. she was just luis’ girlfriend and bronwyn’s sister
i keep thinking about this post and how, not only is the oouin treated poorly, maeve is fully out of character for the entire book.
we got her impeccable comedic timing back (the baseball bat/snow scraper exchange with addy was everything i could have wanted) but other than her hacking skills we got nothing.
she was terrible to phoebe — one of her two best friends!! —seemingly distant with knox for some reason, and only important when someone wanted something from her. she could have been in peru for the entire book and have called in during all of her scenes and nothing would have changed (except for the wall paper but that wasn’t even that helpful).
it just feels so odd to me that someone who, not even three months ago, thought she was going to die is so flippant with her relationships. not to mention the fact that she just went through something so traumatic, something that should have brought her even closer to knox and phoebe.
oouin maeve would have pulled phoebe aside after the party and had a conversation about the instagram sighting. she would have given her friend time to explain, and would have listened without judgement. she would never have been the reason why someone she loved more than anyone the chance to get drugged.

okay so i might be totally off base here, but i feel like knox may have even lost some development. he lost self confidence after phoebe rejected him. we get to see that he’s been doubting himself for months about his stance with phoebe. he feels like he stepped over the line. then she admits she has feelings and dumps some serious things on him that he has to keep secret. and he forgives her. we don’t get to see him slowly gain confidence and learn that he is worthy of someone’s affection. knox was only used in the back of phoebe’s thoughts as something else to guilt her. which isn’t necessarily karen’s fault, she had a lot of characters. just not fun from a knox lover standpoint
