Angst hours! Eddie is in love with Richie and he's been hiding his feelings for years just watching Richie from a far (they're not close, they barely know each other). He thought Richie was never going to notice him but one day Richie came to him and asked him out. They were going to have their first date, Eddie is looking forward to it so much he's never been this happy before. He waited in their place but Richie was late. It's fine Richie's probably stucked in traffic or something. (1/2)
Oh man the idea of Eddie sitting there, waiting every day for someone who never comes is heartbreaking.
I have to imagine though that Eddie, being our intrepid little hero, would eventually go out and look for Richie, try and find him and figure out what the hell happened. I also imagine that he’d get far more than he bargained for when he learned what had happened.

okay, you know how eddie dies in the movie (or even if he stayed alive), it would take a while, but Richie would eventually go on tour again, and the first tour he goes on would be named “Eddie.” Where he would come out, talk about Eddie his first and only love but not really talk much about p*nnywise and all that stuff. Or even if Eddie didn’t die, he’d still do that and then at the end bring Eddie onto the stage.
“All of you have heard the story about how if a boy tugs on a girl’s pigtails he likes her? Well that was me, except with ‘your mom’ jokes and pushing him out of a hammock. Pretty romantic shit right? Even before I knew I was gay I knew I wanted this little hypochondriac’s attention all the fucking time.”
I love this idea and Richie being like ‘oh why didn’t we get together? Some clown stopped us.’ and the audience thinks its a joke but the losers know.
Maybe Richie thinks that Eddie died- all of them do- until one day after his show he’s told that his ‘biggest fan’ is waiting for him backstage. Richie goes back, ready to sign an autograph, pose for a picture, and then it’s Eddie. In his clothes from Derry, sitting in Richie’s chair and waiting for him.
