Yousef Moner (@/you2.ef_) sent me a message on Insta and we've been messaging for a couple of days now. I believe this is a legit fundraiser based on what I've seen so far on his socials. He has a brother with another fundraiser (@/mohamed_moner1994 on insta).
Their gofundmes are being organized by Layla Ashoor (@/only_one_lulu on insta and 'Layla Ashoor' on FB).
Yousef is trying to evacuate with his sister and parents. I asked him where he is currently staying and he told me that they are in a small tent in Rafah at the moment. His gfm has only 3 donations amounting to £65 at the time I am making this post (04/21 here in the PH), while Mohamed is only at £1,150.

Hey, I just got an ask from @/almostoptimisticsheep asking for donations to support their family in Gaza.
The linktree link on their pinned post that takes you to a paypal donation page for Jeff Owino.
I saw one of your posts mentioning his name as a scammer and thought I'd bring it to your attention ASAP.
The account was only created a day ago and is seemingly asking for $700 in donations.
Thank you v much for this info. Yes, this one's a scammer. Jeff Owino is a known scam paypal account. They are also listed in Key's list of active scammers pretending to be from Palestine here. Please block and warn your friends and followers. Instead of their scam post, please consider boosting and donating to a legit fundraiser that's been vetted by other Palestinians:
Yousef and Mohamed Moner's fundraisers which are currently v low on funds and has little to no traction
Madleen Abu Jayyab's fundraiser to help especially her son Mohammed who's eye was injured from a rocket shrapnel

The purpose of this post is to compile a quick list of accounts confirmed to be stealing their information off of legitimate fundraisers or otherwise are shown to be taking their posts off Facebook and using it themselves. This list is intended to be a quick access point so if searched someone will see info explaining why the blog they shared from is a scam. Before asking if a blog is a scam, please refer to this post for better details regarding these particular scams:

Yuri!!! On Ice isn’t my main fandom anymore, but in light of the cancellation announcement, I feel like right now is a good time to try and complete this blog as far as I can.
If you have merch, or high quality scans, or can take high quality pictures of official art/merch that I haven’t shared in a decent quality on here yet, please reach out to submit the pictures so I can complete the archive. I’ve spent a lot of time in the past hunting for the highest quality pictures I could find, but I wasn’t always successful.
If you don’t have merch or the pictures I’m looking for, please share this post so it can reach those who could help me out 💙
I have a specific tag (“to replace with higher quality”) on this blog for art that I wish to replace with higher quality, additionally I will pin this post and add a Google doc with all the art I’m looking for once I’m done putting that doc together. So please watch this space!

So today I got a rather unkind comment on AO3 (one could call it hate), but I believe it to be a bot for several reasons:
Guest account, but username attached
Said username exists but person is unlikely to be reading Tolkien fic (according to their Tumblr and AO3, they are in other fandoms)
Two grammatically correct sentences
Super generic text that could apply to any fic:
"I've seen better fanfiction written by a toddler. Get it together!"
I'm curious, did anyone else get comments like this? Let me know.
And to those who have gotten rude comments and are now worried/upset: Maybe it was just a bot too. Either way: You're awesome for putting your writing out there for others to enjoy and you don't deserve to get rude comments for it. If you want feel free to message me to compare cases and discuss details :)

if YOI's cancellation is your first time of hearing the shitty ins and outs of MAPPA i urge you to look into the horrific treatment their animators got during season two of Jujutsu Kaisen and how horrific their conditions are in general. I've been vocal about this to my mutuals for some time.

Guys, I am geniunely so sad about the Yuri on Ice movie.
We were waiting for such a long time. People were having their doubts with the lack of news but I wanted to have hope anyway.
Hope that their story would continue. Hope that we would finally get to see all the years of hard work, passion and dedication that went into making this film. Hope that even after years of mostly radio silence, maybe we could still actually get something. Especially after the pandemic years.
MAPPA cancelled the film due to "various reasons". I feel like after all this time since they started production back in 2017, we deserve a more concrete reasoning. Especially the animators and everyone who worked tirelessly on this project from the very beginning to end.
I remember going to a local anime/cosplay convention years back and met the English VA for Yuri, Jessie James Grelle. It was super cool to meet them. I remember asking if there was anything confirmed for season 2 and them saying there was actually an entire MOVIE in the works. I remember feeling so ecstatic about it, especially since this was just before the official announcement released.
I really loved Yuri on Ice, the characters and the story.
I really wanted to see it continue and let the characters and world grow.
To the writer, Mitsurou Kubo, Thank you for this show. Thank you so so much. Thank you for these beloved characters. Thank you for this story.
I want to hope that this isn't the end of Yuri on Ice, but I fear it most likely is.
I remember feeling so excited, waiting for the episodes to drop every week. It became a routine and my teenage self found a lot of joy through this show.
8 years later and I'm now an adult who's almost Yuri's age.
I was really hoping we'd get to see them one last time but,
If this truly is the end of Yuri on Ice-

The more I stew in it, the more I'm convinced that mappa held the movie hostage for 7 years trying to get a bigger share of the ip
They released like what? maybe 4 or 5 new official illustrations after 2018 plus the teaser after all the ost tours and new merch and cafe collaborations were done?
I honest to God believe that mappa initially took the smallest share of the yoi ip thinking "Oh it won't be that popular anyway" and then immediately regretted it when yoi absolutely destroyed DVD sales (it became the 4th bestselling anime of all time that year)
Seeing the multiple seasons of both original and adapted anime they've put out since, they clearly learned from that mistake, but Jesus christ. SEVEN. YEARS.
Guess mappa management finally realized they weren't going to get what they wanted and gave up

Im so sad over the movie cancelation, Yuri on Ice was really important to me. I have genuine tears in my eyes.
I remember being a closeted 12 year old when it aired, I was so ashame of who I was. It had such an impact on me... it was the first time I saw a homosexual couple represented in such a natural and good wholesome light in anime.
They even kissed on screen and got engaged!! Which was HUGE in 2016, back then unapologetic queer representation outside of nsfw content was so rare!
Each Thursday, if I remember correctly, I would stay up late until I could watch the new episode with Spanish subtibles. I LOVED the opening song and the fact that on each episode its animation got brighter colors to represent the characters newfound happiness!!
I got SO excited, knowing that I would go to school and talk about it with my bestfriend during recess.
I just wished I could replicate that feeling because the happiness I felt was truly unique. You just HAD to be there!!
Im so sad, I was hoping the movie would make me experience that feeling again, if only a fraction of it but now it won't happen :(
