After @ahiggsboson and I happened to walk behind this character in the same direction for a while, he tied a sash around his head and soon turned around and greeted us in Danish. After an awkward pause of considering how to greet a Danish speaking tree-man, I told him we didn't speak Danish. Then our conversation with him went a little something like this: -Good eeevening! -Good evening! .. We were wondering what your costume is for. -I just felt like it. -Oh. It's not for anything? -No. I just felt like it..... Why not? -Yeah, sometimes it feels good to just dress up. Did you make it? -Not this one. I bought it because I needed it, but it's cheap. I made another one, and I made one for my brother. This one's not very good quality because leaves and twigs get stuck to the camo. -But then you're even more camouflage, aren't you? -But they get stuck and the fabric gets all fussy.. Also if you lie down on the ground it can get stuck and you can't get back up. I've tried it. Then he went home and we went home. #learnsomethingneweveryday #favoritedane #treeninjaman

After the intimidating ten year olds left, we did our best to spring across this random row of trampolines like they did. Success for Ashleigh! ... a learning experience for me. #thewonderfulthingabouttiggers #fostertheinnerchild #jump

So, what's your favorite food so far? And favorite view? And favorite museum/gallery?
Food: fresh fish layered with thin sheets of crisped filo dough and a sort of fresh salsa in Rome. Dessert? Gelato. The gyros in Aegina, Greece were also very tasty.Museum: Jewish museum in Berlin. The Vatican museum was also very cool. Galeria of Catalunya was pretty good too though we didn't see much of it... louvre somehow was my least favorite I think. Almost all have been really enjoyable at least in certain sections. I can be a bit picky.View: Tough one. We've had great views in almost every city. The view from the Eiffel tower is hard to beat, especially while you're drinking champagne. However the view from the top of St. Peter's was so cool, especially since you could see into Vatican city. Beautiful and exciting! The view from the galeria of catalunya was awesome but it was also early on and colored by my infatuation with Barcelona. Having seen more, my final answer is.... St Peter's and actually, also in Rome, the view from Palatine Hill. Quiet, beautiful view of Rome. One more: went to a tiny town somewhere near the border of Poland yesterday and climbed up a hill too just see the town and an expanse of green fields and trees. It was just beautiful and simple. I loved that. So, there are about 15 too many answers to 3 questions asked by anonymous! :)

Today I crossed another item off the bucket list: the Jewish Museum in Berlin. I learned about it a couple years ago in an architecture theory class and wrote a paper and gave a presentation on it. It's stayed with me since then. The architecture alone was enough to draw me in as it adds so much to the exhibits and meaning contained in the museum, but the history was likewise fascinating; it was as poignant as ever as I reflected on the history of Jews in this city, as well as the current-day genocide of Christians in Iraq, and the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. A wishing tree in the museum held the written wishes of visitors. Many of them were about peace for all and an end to persecution. How tragic it is that inhumane history re-expresses itself and these wishes reflect a current, urgent cry for help. (at Jüdisches Museum Berlin | Jewish Museum Berlin)

I see your effort to be edgy, Munich, I just don't believe it. And no, putting a bandaid on your manican's face does not make him look tough. Neither do the trashcans or rats in your display window. Or the fact that his sweats are 50€. Better luck next time. #munichghetto ...?
