Sometimes I get worried that a lot of the things I am diagnosed with I only got because I somehow, without *my* knowledge, pretended enough to convince an expert with at least five years experience in their field.

Today I’m finding myself unable to enjoy drawing Asriel without first having a complete understanding of his mental state as Flowey. As written through the dialogue of the game. If I can’t understand the exact timeline of how he experienced soul loss, and his exact reasoning for why he did what he did, i cannot justify my visual I interpretations of him.

This definitely comes from the fact that my original hyper-fixation on him came at a time people weren’t really talking about how he as a person doesn’t really change when he transforms back briefly, the watch wasn’t out yet, and the ‘Cinnamonroll asriel’ take was very common. I have the old interpretation that I’m slowly evolving into something more accurate and the best I’ve found is trying to draw Asriel saying the lines Flowey gives in the game because really they are no different, but my brain is STUCK. Like a ROCK.

And yeah you don’t need to be neurodiverse to experience this issue but you also don’t need to be rich to own a very expensive car, but statistically speaking the odds are very biased.

Thank you so much!! That’s exactly what I’m kind of going for in my version of him. It makes the most sense to me considering his dialogue in the game. I also like the idea of him adopting a large vine monster that vaguely resembles ASGORE’s build in the earlier resets of his, when he gets scared. I think he would look up to his father in terms of strength and fortitude, until he realised he was a coward, just because ASGORE began to actually finish what Asriel started
