Wanda rose to her feet as well, she placed a hand in the center of his back to help keep him steady. She was going to stand closely behind him to act as a crutch, just in case he couldnât walk for extended periods of time. He was forcing himself at this point, and it was only a matter of time before he collapsed. Wanda squinted her eyes, looking up at the surveillance camera that faced the street across. She slowly nodded once she noticed the red light glowing indicates it was recording. âA camera is right there.â Wanda pointed straight ahead to the camera on the corner of a rooftop belonging to a pawnshop.
It stood right across from the empty lot they had used as their meeting point with the deceased supe. She and Butcher were going to have to break in to steal the camera, which wouldnât be an issue with Wandaâs magic and probability manipulation. They crossed the street together, standing right beside the doorway. Wanda held a glowing hand out to the door, causing the door to unlock with her probability manipulation. âCome on, letâs get those tapes quick and get out of her. Iâm keeping the alarm off, so we donât tip off the cops that weâre in here.â Wanda urged, linking her arm with Butcherâs pulling him into the doorway.Â
 Her eyes adjusted to the darkness fairly quickly, allowing her to navigate through the store fairly easily. She released his arm, opting to grab him by the wrist to lead him to the back of the store, where the recording tapes for the camera were located. She had unlocked the back door to the back room, flipping the light switch on. Wanda released his arm as quickly as they had crossed the threshold of the door, pressing her back against the wall and her hands behind her back.Â
Dark eyes are soaked with agony, but itâs only the sunken gaze that weighs him down. Barely even a hitch in his step while they commit a little nonchalant B&E, add it to the long list of sins and crimes dragging Billyâs shoulders down into the depths of the mud. Not like he wasnât already up to his goddamn eyes, but he refused to suffocate just yet. Still work to be done, still supes to snuff, heroes to hang, all that fucking business. Rotten cunts, hellbent on burning just about everyone to ash all for their own pleasure.
âKeep your focus, doll. Camera looked a bit old, might have me work cut out.â
Wading between glass cabinets, sliding like Starsky and Hutch across the smooth surface, ducking his way back to the office-- Places like this usually had fuck all for security, code locked plywood door-- One a well placed boot very could easily knock off its hinges, had she not opened it herself. It helped he wasnât concerned about any of the cheap off the shelf safes and their contents, just the computers-- Or rather, the ancient 90s computer and a VCR by the looks of it. Yanking a couple of tapes, sliding them into his coat pockets, heâs fighting the urge to sway and throw up. Feels like his head is rotting from the inside outward-- But itâll pass. Always did.
âAlright, love, need you to make a liâl cover for us, ay? Place is probably insured, liâl fire will cover any other evidence we was here. You anâ I get on out in me car. I get a nice ice pack on my head anâ bollocks when we get back-- Morninâ comes I donât feel so rotten no more. Sound a plan?â Pupils were blown wide, step was easy and smooth still despite himself, heâs got the distinct feeling that if he sits down though heâs not gonna want to get back up. So he canât stop yet. No slowing down, or heâs dead weight on her.
