IPL 2020: In-form Virat Kohli set to test Dinesh Karthik's captaincy acumen as KKR, RCB square off in Sharjah
Placed closely in succession on the IPL 2020 points table, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore are in line to challenge Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, who have held the top 2 positions in the competition so far. While Dinesh Karthik’s KKR hold the 3rd position on the points table, Virat Kohli’s RCB at No.4 are just below them. Both teams, however, have each won 4 out of 6 respective IPL 2020 fixtures so far.
Today’s competition will decide who between the two teams challenges to the toppers of the table. So far Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals have been dominant in the IPL 2020 competition, but now the rise of RCB and KKR looming around them.
Looking at their head to head stats, Bangalore have only won 2 out their last 8 head to head clashes against the Kolkata-based franchise. Looking at their current form, while RCB has won 3 out their most recent 5 matches, KKR have only lost 1 out their last 5 games in IPL 2020.
Given their form and record in the IPL, Kolkata definitely have the edge over Bangalore. In fact, in their last head to head game in Sharjah, back in 2014, Kolkata had won a thriller of a contest by just 2 runs. As the two teams meet today, expect them to challenge each other by rising to their respective best of potentials.
