as it’s fanfic appreciation day I figured I could make another fic rec masterpost. the first one is pretty old and I’ve got so many new faves since then

Homecoming by alkjira (G, Dís/canonical husband, Kiliel, Bifur/Fíli/Ori, Bagginshield, fix-it, everyone lives nobody dies, very silly and super cute omg <3 Dís is confused of who loves who and Víli is on a mission for grandkids because gdi he’s not getting any younger here folks! this is one of my feel-good fics, always makes me smile <3)
Under The Mistletoe by alkjira (G, Bagginshield, fix-it, cultural differences, everyone lives nobody dies, Bilbo stays in Erebor, Dwarves think mistletoes are evil and silly shenanigans ensue, I laughed so much while reading this <3 it’s a Christmas fic so reccing it at this time of year feels a bit weird but I love it so w/e)
Through Her Dooring by BlueOnyx (E, fem!Bagginshield, this is just porn with something of a plot but this is kinda important to me as it was one of the first fem!Bagginshield fics I ever read and it has a really nice atmosphere <3)
Black Is The Colour by BlueOnyx (E, fem!Bagginshield, sequel to the one above this, this one has sex toys and happens in Rivendell. Elves have magical sex toys and Lindir (also fem!) gives Bilbo one, and puts it in creative use with Thorin)
Third Dimension of the Heart by sinisterbug (WIP, T, Bagginshield, Bilbo/Dáin, Dwori, everyone lives nobody dies, Dáin is awesome (so yeah, even though there’s a bit of a love triangle this is not a Dáin hate fic which is great), really well-written and a real pleasure to read; it’s been on a break for a while and I really hope it continues at some point)
May I? by Amakago (G, Bagginshield, ace!Bilbo, demi!Thorin, post-BotFA, everyone lives no one dies, this is really sweet, very ace friendly and super positive)
Coffee and Floral prints by euseevius (G, Bagginshield, Paris!AU, modern au, coffee shop au, misunderstandings, basically Thorin owns an elegant coffee place in Paris and wants to keep it a family business, but Gandalf tells him to hire help. Enter Bilbo Baggins. has a really nice atmosphere and lots of silliness <3 I really really love this fic and its sequels)
The Art of Searching for Yourself by euseevius (G, Fíli-centric, sequel to the one above this, Fíli leaves home in search of himself, also ace!Fíli, oh gods I cried while reading this - in a good way. again, very nice atmosphere and at places I’d call this poetic)
Cherry on the Cake by euseevius (T, Bagginshield, also part of the Paris!AU, established relationship, demi!Thorin, Thorin is a 40-year-old virgin but didn’t have problems with it - until Bilbo entered the picture. Bilbo’s really cool about it though^^ I helped brainstorm this fic, and it was a lot of fun <3 the title actually comes from something I said during the brainstorm, that sex is just the cherry on the top of the relationship cake - a nice addition but the cake is just as good without it)
Candle Glow and Mistletoe by euseevius (G, Bagginshield, minor background relationships, Christmas fic, Bilbo and Thorin are married but no one in Thorin’s family knows it yet - so they place a bet where they pretend NOT to be married to see if anyone realises the truth before Christmas Day, also teeny tiny toddler Fíli uwu <3<3<3<3<3 and Dís and Víli are a lesbian couple which is always great <3)
Synergy by alkjira (E, Bilbo/Dwalin, eventual Dwagginshield, so much smut, eventual happy ending, basically both Bilbo and Dwalin are in love with Thorin and bond over it… and by bond I mean have sex. lots of it. eventually with Thorin)
Cute Girls & Chemistry by starlightwalking (G, fem!Kiliel, acearo!Fíli, acearo!Leggles, university au, Kíli and Tauriel meet in their chemistry class and love ensues <3 this is one of the cutest fem!Kiliel fics ever, and Fili and Leggles spice things up nicely with their very acearo comments (also gave me a better understanding for acearo people in general))
where moments turn into forever by alkjira (G, Bagginshield, Bofili, mentioned Kiliel, this one I got from alkjira’s fic giveaway, everyone lives nobody dies, Shire au, established relationship, so much fluff omg I love this <3 Fíli and Bofur are adorable dorks in love omg I giggle from the thought only <3 I love this fic okay)
Hearts Will As Hearts Must by determamfidd (G, Gigolas, Bagginshield, Kiliel, everyone lives nobody dies, Legolas is not perfect and has A Lot of Feelings, Gimli is a young hothead and has ALL the feelings, bickering dorks to friends to budding lovers, really sweet and 100% dets, honestly dets’s fics are all super perfect and this is no exception. Leggles and Gimli are silly but sweet <3)
Azhâr by yubiwamonogatari (WIP, T, Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Major Character Death, Bagginshield, Kiliel, Gigolas, Dwori, Balin/Dori, Barduil, and more, everyone lives nobody dies, fake marriage, slow build, slow burn (like glacial), Dwarf culture, *heavy breathing* THIS FIC IS SO GOOD OHMYGODS??????????????)
Molasses by snowmissus (soul_of_blaze) (T, fem!Bagginshield, cisfem!Thorin, transfem!Bilbo, coming out, really insightful and enjoyable read, also big yay for transfem!Bilbo which is all too rare)
Glowing like Stars by snowmissus (soul_of_blaze) (G, fem!Kiliel, mermaid!Kíli, pre-relationship, this one is for me <3 short but super sweet, Kili and Tauriel are both adorable lil cuties with big crushes <3)
Together by HildyJ (M, Bagginshield, Shire au, domestic fluff with the smallest amount of angst, and an annoying fly trying to get out, some blood and nudity, I couldn’t stop smiling while reading this because this is exactly me on a hot day, except I don’t have a cute Hobbit significant other)
Take Them by Daerwyn (T, Figrid, secret relationship, Fíli and Sigrid get lost in Erebor and when Thorin comes to find them she accidentally calls him “uncle” even though no one knows she and Fíli are an item, this is super cute <3)
