a general psa that “reminding” loveless aromantics that love doesn’t have to be romantic is just rude and borderline disrespectful. trust me, they know. they probably understand the connotations of love better than you too. loveless aros are the ones who know their identity and comfort levels best so how about y’all stop getting up in arms whenever they challenge how you think people are supposed to interpret love.

Reminder that it's never productive to respond to arophobes with "aros can still love!" or any variant of how we love differently, "better", etc. as a defense. First off, arophobes aren't worth fighting or devoting your attention to. Second, you're not an activist or a defender of aros if your defense comes at the expensive of the unloving. You shouldn't seek to rationalize or debate hate by moving the goalposts.

hi! id like to request an emoji, tho im not sure if itd be too complex- basically, im a loveless aro that also has low empathy, so whenever my friends talk about their romantic life i just kind of sit there with this feeling i am unsure how to convey in words /lh. so, i picture an emoji - someone shrugging and/or looking confused, with a heart-shaped hole in their chest (like a transparent one, or a black one if thats too complicated to do!)

When I said "Love is not what makes us human" I meant it. It doesn't mean we need to redefine something else that makes us human. It doesn't mean that I don't understand that love is more than romantic. It means that I know those things and believe that nothing should have to define our humanity, that love is not a universal experience no matter how many different ways you try to define it.
