Chapter 5: The London Bridge is Falling Down -- Logan - The Resistance & Mr.Karramotto.
A day and a half. That's how long it took for me to get across the sea to the shores of Europe. Another day passed as I flew to my actual destination. All my supplies were gone; my food devoured, my water savored, and the rest just lost along the way. I hardly had anything left besides the satchel I brought everything in and an old friend.
Something I've not been able to understand about my Soulist abilities is my connection to this bird, this vulture I've come to name Maya, my friend. Maya has died a total of four times since we've met, but a week after dying another vulture finds it's way to me with the exact same exposed skull, tattered wings, and green scrap of cloth tied to it's left leg. It seems that this bird and I share a bond that surpasses life and death, and every time it is reborn I can feel that the bond has grown stronger.
When I look at Maya, I peer into her hallow eye sockets into another world. One that is rural and arid, desolate except for a single elderly woman whom I find oddly familiar. The vision shows Maya standing on the Elder's staff, and the Elder herself over looking the barren landscape with fondness. It's a confusing image, and I've yet to make any sense of it. All I know is that Maya is more than just a normal vulture.
She's a fast creature too, able to carry me on her back and fly surprisingly fast, allowing me a moment to catch my breath every now and again. She fly's with great intent, having always known somehow exactly where I wanted to go, as if she could hear my thoughts. Turning left when I'd think of it, and right just the same. I suppose I should be grateful to have such a loyal companion, and one that seems to understand me so well in this dark time.
The sun was beginning to set as we came across our destination, London England; more specifically the Palace of Westminster, where Big Ben laid in ruins and where The Resistance against Soulist Inc. laid claim to their headquarters. There were several people there, men and women armed to the teeth with guns and explosives, patrolling the massive metal boarders set up some time ago to keep out any unwanted strangers. Only those in desperate need of shelter were allowed in, and anyone that posed a threat was not to be taken lightly.
To some, I classified as a threat, and to those more familiar with the area I was saluted and welcomed warmly. Newer recruits held their guns up and aimed for Maya's wings, but held their fire as superiors hounded them for aiming at one of the counsel members. I merely watched with a blank expression, amused but not daring to show it in the presence of another councilman coming to greet me, "Logan! You're back; did you find what you were looking for?"
A heavy sigh escaped my lips, covered by the sound crowing from Maya as she'd land. I slid off her back, moving to a stand and approaching my comrade. Councilman Michio Karramotto; A strong, taller Japanese man who was working as part of the military stationed in Europe before the Soulist Nuke launched. He was with me when we were hunting down Ardelle, but we got separated after he fell into one of Ardelle's traps. Without his help I couldn't prevent the nuke's from going off, and after it all went to hell I had to struggle to retrieve Michio from the ruins of France. Him and I ended up in London after hearing that a group of Renegade soldiers had made a safe haven out of the Palace ruins, and we were welcomed as councilmen in charge of military power ever since. I'm not too big on military, however, more covert ops, so I mostly let Michio watch here while I hunt down Ardelle, "No, Ardelle is an illusive woman. I believe she's occupied, however, with an old friend of hers for now. I decided to come back in order to recuperate. How's life here been?"
He walked and talked for awhile until night came upon us and Michio insisted I get some rest. He also made a crack at how I should try wearing clothing again, refusing to accept that I can't given if I change forms it could lead to those clothes being destroyed or just tangling up my body. He was always uncomfortable with my choice of nudity.
A goods night rest was what I needed right now, and after saying my good byes to Michio and letting Maya in through the window, I'd fall against my bunker and cuddle into my sheets before falling asleep.

Suki - When it Rains, it pours.
After my little incident with the table and my face and yeah I woke up to find myself in nothing but darkness. My face felt a little sticky along the left side. Maybe that fall was worse than I thought? I didn't -feel- any pain, but that wasn't really a good sign either. There was a warmth around my head, like something has been wrapped around me. Not a bag over my head, no, more like a bandage put there to stop possible bleeding.
I was seated in a chair. After wiggling a bit, I could determine the chair was one of those cheap metal fold out chairs commonly used in those big school gatherings. Cheap and easy to store, just not the most comfortable. It was so cold, and it wobbled as I'd shift around. My ankles were tied to the legs of the chair by zip-ties, while my wrists were bound together behind the back of the chair. Zip-ties, huh? I learned once from Sarah that they're not that hard to go out of if you just keep calm. And however tied my wrists was generous enough to leave enough wiggle room for me to start work on getting loose.
Where was I, anyways? I couldn't see anything, it was so dark. I could tell I was in a room of sorts; the sound of the chair's creeking bounced off the nearby walls. It smelled putrid in here as well, however that could just be me. I -was- just wrestling monsters in a sewer... God, I needed to shower. Focus I had to remind myself. I managed to get the zip-tie loose a few notches, but in my excitement I locked it up again and had to take precaution not to just re-tighten it or worse, restrain myself further.
The sound of nearby foot steps made me freeze, my head turning in the direction they came from. I hadn't noticed until I bothered to look behind me that there was the outline of a door, light coming in from a presumed hallway. The foot steps stopped, and a loud siren sounded through the room for a moment before a red light flashed above me. It blinded me, but it provided me with a glimpse of what the room around me looked like.
Directly in front of me was a two way mirror, to my left a table, and beyond the table was another chair identical to mine. The floor was tiled, and the walls were an eerie metal material. I stared at the mirror for what little time I had and noticed something strange. What I -thought- was a bandage around my head was not that at all. No, it was a... well, I didn't know how to explain it. It moved, it wiggled, it was almost like a giant worm. But it shimmered, and the 'head' was nothing more than a skull. A ghastly looking skull that was cracked along the forehead in a straight, narrow line. It bled, too, and the bleeding trailed down the left side of it's face.
It mimicked me, mocking my injury which I could see clearly now. There was a bit of laughter now, the door behind me opening, "Well well, look who's awake. Y'know, never thought I'd see you having all these fancy soul tricks like those other abominations. Guess I should have known."
It was a man's voice. Low, husky, speaking like he knew me or something. All I could see from the mirror was the outline of a massive man, someone obviously trained to taken damage and throw it right back at people two fold. His hair was done up in a Mohawk, pointed and sharp standing up to add another six inches or so to his already intimidating frame. I knew that Mohawk, and upon looking over my shoulder I was met with a moment of clarity.
Rain. Rainer Dewitt. But, why? Why here? My clarity was quickly replaced by more confusion, and he spoke with a toothy grin to mock me, "Oh, Suki, you hurt me. You're glaring at me like your sister use to. C'mon, aren't you happy to see that I survived that whole apocalypse thing? I know, I know, you're probably wandering how, right?" No. "Well let me tell ya!" He walked over to take a seat in the chair on the other side of the table, leaning back and putting his feet up and he eyed me, "Jesus, stay out of the sewers next time - Anyways! After the big explosion I found myself all alone in the room your sister chained me up in before you guys took off for Europe. The damn place had collapsed in on itself, but luckily the pillar that I was -forcibly bound to- held up and I survived. I was freed by some rag-tag team of thugs and joined up with them a bit, that was fun."
I honestly didn't care about anything he had to say. Sarah had left him tied up somewhere after he beat up a friend of ours, a poor scrawny guy named Danny. I was hoping that we'd see the last of him for a while, but I guess not... "- And so I was riding this babe like -hardcore- when her boyfriend comes in and well... Anyways, I became the leader of that clan that day after killing the big guy and that's when the Soulist Inc. contacted me. Wanted my group to do some scouting around the area-" Kill me, he won't shut up...
All I could think about was getting him to just be quiet and tell me what I was doing here, but without my hands I couldn't sign anything to him. Fucking idiot probably forgot I was mute; or maybe he remembered and was specifically doing this to annoy me,. Either way, I was getting tired of it, and that's when the thing happened. The odd thing wrapped around my head, it moved, almost like it heard my thoughts, and swiftly went to take action. It grew considerably as it raced towards Rain's big stupid head, it's jaw growing to compensate the mass before swallowing it whole.
  Well okay then.
The girly scream and sudden spaz attack that followed had me laughing almost hysterically. At least until a sudden sharp pain on my head came to shut me up. There was a flood of blood now that raced from my open wound. I knew it, I knew I was hurt. But why didn't I feel it until now? Did something hit me? Was it... that thing? Was it helping me to ignore the pain this whole time...? What even -was- that thing? A soul?
Rain continued to flop about helplessly on the floor now after having smacked his head against the table to try to get the thing to let go. He was trying desperately to pry it from his head, but it was useless, the thing was on there pretty tight. Whatever it was, it was on my side. His screaming had stopped, but I could still see through the ghostly figure's translucent body and make out the bewildered face of the screaming man. It was... completely quieted by the spirit.
This had to be another ability. Neat, I can make people shut the fuck up. I'll keep that in mind.

I did it but I'm exhausted so expect the post tomorrow! This art style was a bit new, I tried two different things. A new eye style and new hair style. I like the hair, with practice it'll be less awkward but the eye's not my favorite. It would be better if it was bigger.
