My style table. Boring black table painted white. I had all these fun little stickers and stuff lying around that i wanted to be seen. Alas, the style table is born.

This is my favorite dress. I feel like the striped pattern is timeless and the empire waist is flattering on my figure, moreso than other styles would be. And the colors....Classic navy and tan, with green and yellow to avoid monotany. It’s by a Miami-based designer called The Webster and it’s from their capsule collection for Target. I paired it with chocolate toned patent leather, Chanel bronzer in Medium, and Lancome lipstick in Sugared Maple.

Neiman Marcus Short Hills Welcomes Rebecca Minkoff and Bryanboy
Tonight I had the pleasure of meeting designer Rebecca Minkoff and her good friend, fashion blogger and America's Next Top Model judge Bryanboy. The meet-and greet event was to kick off Neiman Marcus' debut of Minkoff's new Elle handbag for fall 2013. Though the event didn't officially begin until 6:00, by 5:30 fans and shoppers were already lined up with the fave Rebecca Minkoff bags to get them autographed.
As I shake hands and get my photo taken with Bryanboy and Minkoff, I say "I feel bad since I'm not carrying one of your bags!" Bryanboy enthusiastically encourages me to shop for one; it makes perfect sense why he would. After all, the bag is named after his grandmother.
The event is one way Minkoff is promoting her designs and brand. Her Soho boutique opened over the summer and a recent website revamp, it's clear that the brand and it's presence in social media is growing. As I followed Minkoff and Bryanboy on facebook, and twitter, I noticed post/tweet after post/tweet from both promoting the Neiman Marcus event as well as an online Q&A session yesterday. It's clear Minkoff and her team know how to take advantage of all social media has to offer. With those perks and Bryanboy now on board, it's sure to be a lucrative season for the Elle bag and all else Rebecca Minkoff.

I cannot say enough about this film's relation to 90s fashion. I've seen it countless times as a teen in the nineties; I lost count around twelve. It catapulted 90s-era Juniors clothing store Contempo Casuals into fame by giving the store a "cameo" in the film. Contempo was then owned by Wet Seal making both stores the Forever 21s of the 90s. I'm pleased that WGSN has given it some recognition almost twenty years later.
A new generation of juniors girls are discovering the 90s cult fashion film, Clueless, and coveting Cher Horowitz’s enviable preppy meets mall style. As if!

Fave recent purchase...
...Are these blood-colored mary janes from Forever 21. The color and patent-leather texture make them semi-formal but my fave detail is the hard-to-find thicker heel. I window shop frequently, and most other round-toe platforms I find out there in the same price range all have spike heels. Don't get me wrong- I love a good spikey heel on club night as much as the next girl. But most of the time a tall spike heel can come across inappropriately when it comes to the office. From my perspective, the chunky, thick heel diversifies the function of the round-toe platform giving the shoe the OK for work (when paired with a knee length skirt or dress pants) or dinner with friends (think about a pairing with jeans). What is it about a piece of clothing or accessory that makes it OK for the office AND casual times? Do share your thoughts/photos.

The Center for Contemporary Art; it's "All That"
Ah, spring. To many women in the fashion world, this spring means fashion week, Marni for H&M and sample sales. But to others, it also brings a sense of renewal and maybe triggers a desire to feel more beautiful not just superficially but from the inside-out.
For those of us who fit in this category as well as females of any age who enjoy a little pampering, here is your perfect opportunity. On May 6, The Center for Contemporary Art (located in Bedminster, NJ) will host “She’s All That”; a “look good, feel good afternoon experience for ‘girls’ of all ages; as their spring fundraiser. At the Bridgewater Marriot hotel from 1:00 to 4:30 (VIP reception at 12 noon), the event will feature a trendy and fun group of guest speakers which include (drum roll please)…

Fashion Model Lea Rannells of Bravo’s “Project Runway” Season 4; Spokes Model for the DBK Foundation & producer of Fashion Compassion event 2012
Special Video greeting from fashion designers and stylists from Bravo’s “Project Runway” Season 4
Guests will get to meet and greet the celebrities and collect autographs. In addition there will be hair consults, make-up touchups, nail art and trendy new products on display.
So how did this whole thing come about? The CCA had run a ladies luncheon called Artistic Expressions which spun into cake design competitions. These competitions fused cake decorating with elements of garden design and interior design. Then came the reality TV wave. “I suppose we were slowly gravitating toward the trend and excitement of reality TV…thus we connected this year with Fashion and Beauty (inner & outer)” says Ellen Rannells, the CCA’s special events coordinator. She continues to state that the CCA tries to support all arts forms.
Tickets can be purchased at ccabedminster.org or by phone at 908-234-2345
