from birth, amilyn holdo was essentially destined for greatness. while most people don’t immediately know what they wish to do with their lives, that was certainly not the case for amilyn. she set a high ambition for herself early on, holding onto the hope that one day she would be a politician. with that position, she would be able to stand up against the injustice that she observed being carried out by the galactic empire. although like most people with a dream, she had to start small. she began her journey working in public service as a delegate to the imperial apprentice legislature program. it was during this time she became extremely close to leia organa, one of the few like-minded individuals around her.
in a world where you wish to climb the ranks, connections are everything. the fact that she managed to befriend the princess herself led to new doors being opened for amilyn. she quickly became a key player in the rebel alliance during the galactic civil war. she started as a civil minister but was able to prove that she was more than capable of becoming a martial commander and was granted the status of an officer of the alliance fleet. after the war against the empire was won, it was during this time that amilyn was able to settle down. although there was something in the back of her mind that told her that new darkness would arise in the future. she didn’t know if it would be during her lifetime, but she knew that evil still lurked in corners of the galaxy.
while she had no ambitions to marry or have what most would’ve deemed to be a conventional life, she started her own family after adopting two children that quickly became the light of her life. they served as a reminder of what she had fought so hard to protect: hope and light in the galaxy. but that momentary peace that everyone naively clung to was dashed when a new evil force rose in the galaxy. the first order. she was forced to leave her family behind after she was re-recruited by leia and was asked to serve as vice admiral of the resistance fleet. it was an honor that she couldn’t deny, especially since was left the highest-ranking officer in the resistance. a daunting premise, but still left her feeling a small bit of pride.
but her desire to protect what she loved most and fight for what was right ended up being holdo’s downfall. with the first order backing her crew into a corner, she did the one thing that she thought was right in that scenario. put her crew and people before herself. if she was going to die, she was going to make sure that the damage was minimalized and that the resistance would be able to carry on – even without her. she ended up forcing a lightspeed collision that allowed the remaining members of the resistance to escape. while she might have been leaving behind her children, she had hope in her final moments that her death would not be one that was in vain.

while the world might have seemed like it was essentially falling apart, new life was still birthed. that was true for pepper potts and tony stark. the announcement of pepper’s pregnancy and the fact that she was expecting twins came as a surprise for the couple, but it was a happy accident for the pair. that much was proven to be true when they were officially born, becoming their parents’ sole source of joy for a while until their younger sister morgan was brought into the world. their parents decided to properly settle down not long after this, his father retiring from the avengers and making the move upstate. it was on stark eco-compound where the family was able to have a small escape from the rest of the world.
although with everything that was occurring around them, there was only so long that tony could turn a blind eye to it all. anthony knew that was true when some of the avengers showed up at his family’s home, secretly watching his father have the discussion that led to him leaving. he can still remember that day crystal clear in his mind, the last time his father kissed his forehead and told him that he loved him. being that he was ten years old, he was old enough to know that there was a chance that the other might not return. but that didn’t make the heartbreak he experienced when he received news of his father’s death any less painful.
from that point on, his twin became the head of the household whereas anthony shut down more or less. sure, he was there for his mother and younger sister when they needed him. but he found himself spiraling whenever he thought about his responsibilities or father for too long. while his twin inherited his father’s legacy, he remained somewhat in the shadows. he attended school online from their home and was able to graduate early due to his accelerated courses. he ended up taking a well-deserved gap year and traveled the world for a bit before applying to mit where he was accepted to their prestigious science program.
it felt somewhat surreal as he stepped out into the real world for the first time, especially since his childhood had been so isolated. while everyone around him knew his reputation and who his father was, he wanted to prove to them that he wasn’t accepted to the school based on his name alone. it was his mind. although it was during his freshman year that he was recruited by the new avengers. initially, he wanted to turn down the opportunity but he felt as if this was the only chance he would have to feel connected to his father. while he had no intention of being a ‘hero’, he wanted to help the avengers however he possibly could by providing them with new technology and gadgets.

legacies and expectations are difficult things for most people to live up to. that was something that junhui believed from the moment they were born. they were the second-born heir to princess mei of china and warrior of china yao. yet despite their pedigree, they never felt like they truly were worthy of any of the titles they were gifted through birth. life for junhui felt as if they were always watching from the outside like they were outside a large party where no one took notice of their existence and things carried on as is. their parents tried to reassure them that this was a temporary awkwardness that came with youth. something they would ‘grow out of’.
yet it seemed they never did. jun learned fairly quickly that they enjoyed being a rather solitary individual, aside from the company of their sister. she was the only one who understood the pressures that were placed upon them from an early age. the only one who would never judge what they themself deemed as irrational anxieties. while they knew no one was literally watching their every move and waiting for them to mess up, sometimes that’s what life in the palace felt like. that’s why jun was quick to learn the places in the palace they could manage to hide for a few hours before their location was uncovered.
they would often take scrolls out to quiet little areas of the garden. their favorite pastimes were immersing themselves in art and history, even better if the two subjects managed to collide. while they had foolish aspirations of becoming a true scholar of art one day, they knew that destiny had carved another path for them. a path that they could only ignore for so long. when talks of marriage and the future of china began to stir, that’s when jun truly felt as if a nail had been hammered into their coffin. they would sit in their sister’s room late at night, whispered conversations of running away beginning to take place between the two.
their futures were out of their control and yet it didn’t need to be that way. despite the immense weight of guilt jun felt about leaving home and the fear they might not be able to make it outside the palace walls, this seemed to be the only key to freedom. unfortunately, before they could even find out, fate decided to help them. they were whisked away to some strange unknown land, their future just as uncertain as it was before.

indy’s story starts much like any other toy, in a store on a shelf. she was a doll that was made in part of a collection to feature women in stem, one of the astronaut models within the collection. while she might have been one of many dolls that looked like her, she liked to think that she was unique. she was taken home a little before christmas eve and gifted to molly davis. although she belonged to molly, she was able to blend in easily with andy’s toys whenever the girl wasn’t around to play with her. that became more and more often as molly grew into a tween, gradually losing interest in playing with dolls.
from the moment she met the toys in andy’s room, she was essentially taken underneath the wing of buzz. much like he initially was disillusioned with his identity, indy truly believed that she was an astronaut rather than a toy. she was meant to explore and being confined to a child’s bedroom prevented that. she quickly learned that there was joy in belonging to someone and being a toy. while toys can’t necessarily have children of their own, she was adopted by buzz and jessie and taken care of by the pair. they might not have been a traditional family, but they sure felt like one in indy’s eyes.
just when andy was about to head to college, she felt panic at the thought of being separated from that family that meant so much to her. she ended up sneaking into the box of toys that were meant to be donated to sunnyside, figuring that molly wouldn’t necessarily notice. it had been quite some time since the girl even acknowledged her existence and she didn’t want to risk losing the only people she cared about. her family and the friends she had made. it was a selfish decision considering toys were meant to keep their owner company and bring them joy, but she couldn’t help herself.
she was beyond nervous on the way to the daycare, but surprisingly sunnyside offered her something she never thought she would have again. she was suddenly cared about by the children there and played with. the excitement she got from indulging in their games of make-believe was almost like a second purpose in life for her. this new joy only increased when her parents adopted her younger sibling, a scared toy that typically hid from the others and children. while they were fairly different, her new sibling quickly became indy’s best friend. she did everything in her power to make sure they felt safe and happy, practically making their well-being her responsibility.
while indy has grown a lot since the christmas that she was purchased, she still gets a bit disconnected from reality. there’s nothing more that she wants in this world to be real, to the point where she would often forget that toys had limitations. but those limitations no longer stand in her way here and she’s beyond excited to explore everything and anything she possibly can.

despite the reputation that the big bad wolf had and the torment he was known to unleash, acacia was far from similar to the man she called father. she was born one winter in the middle of the woods, joining her older brother blaine in this world. from birth, she was taught to fear humans by her father. the heartless man wanted to do everything in his power to keep control over his children, inflicting fear in them so they would be less likely to ever leave him. dependence in his eyes was power.
on top of this, he was often rather cruel to both of his children. it added to his desire to break both of his children down, inflicting typically emotional (and sometimes physical) abuse upon both of them. but for the most part, acacia was able to dodge most of her father’s wrath and that was directly related to her older brother blaine. her brother was often the person who stood in the way of their father and shielded her as much as he possibly could. sometimes metaphorically and other times literally.
when she turned the age of eighteen, she and her brother made a plan to escape their father. while it was a shot in the dark and they knew that he would eventually catch up with them one day, the risk seemed worth it. they made a home for themself by the edge of the town that acacia often spent the majority of her time watching over. she remained an ever-present watcher, wishing that one day she could join them. but she knew that was an impossible dream. but that didn’t stop her from longing for a life full of laughter and life, a life that it seemed most people in the village seemed to live.

music had always been in the blood of big al himself, so it was necessarily a surprise when his talent and love for music were passed onto his children. it was one of the reasons why the barrett trio was more of a band rather than a family, the tight-knit group constantly playing music together. jolene was the firstborn of her siblings and certainly earned the title of ‘momma bear’ when it came to looking after them. the first ever instrument she played was the piano, often using the piano at grizzly hall to practice or compose songs when no one was there currently using them. when her siblings entered the world after her, she took it upon herself to teach them everything she knew about music. that included finding the right instrument for them.
not long after they all discovered their instrument of choice, the barrett siblings decided to actually form a band. they had been playing together for so long and writing music together for all their lives. so why not share that music and passion with the world like their father and his friends had? they called themselves the beary barrett band, a cheesy yet cute name. her brother hunter was essentially the face of the band. it only made sense considering he was this constant ball of energy that the fans gravitated to. he played guitar and sang while jolene accompanied him on the piano with backup vocals.
while she wished that she could step into the spotlight more, she didn’t want to take any attention away from her younger siblings. songwriting, composing music, and sitting behind the ivory keys were where she felt safest. there was no potential rejection and no fear of attracting attention away from her younger siblings. she didn’t necessarily need to shine if she had the chance to see her siblings thrive in the way she always believed that they should.

princess melody andersen came by the nickname ‘princess of disaster’ quite honestly. despite being born into a royal family and being gifted with the title of a princess from birth, she never felt like she fit in or that she was deserving of the title. while her parents were beyond loving and accepting of all of their children, she couldn’t help but feel as if all eyes were on her. it’s a rare feat when anyone ages gracefully and living out those awkward teenage years while everyone is watching you, would be considered a nightmare for most. beyond the pressure that came with being a princess, melody couldn’t help but feel as if there was something her parents were hiding from her.
their nature of how protective they were of her and her siblings was almost suffocating. little did she know, there was a very good reason for that. her mother’s past. while the andersen children were banned from leaving the castle walls, especially to go down to the shore, melody felt this urge to break the rules that were set in place. just the sound of the waves that could be heard called to her. this led to melody choosing to sneak out against her parents' wishes and explore the ocean. she would spend hours collecting shells or swimming in the salty brine, dreaming of a life far away from her own. it was there she met one of her only friends, a fish that she talked to named florian.
as the years went on, suitors were introduced to melody in preparation for possible marriage and union of two kingdoms. but most of the people that she met were turned away by her awkwardness or clumsy nature, something that she grew to feel fairly insecure about. would she ever meet someone who would accept her for who she was? quirks and all. her only escape from this all was when she was sneaking down to the water, deciding one day to bring one of her younger siblings. it was then something bad happened, her sibling losing their footing and nearly drowning if it hadn’t been for melody’s swift action to rescue them.
it was that moment her parents found out about her disobeying them for years, their rules became more strict. resentment and guilt began to brew inside of melody and she decided to sneak out for one last time. in her mind, her family would be better off without her. but this time she decided to strike a similar deal with a sea witch named morgana, wanting to reside in the ocean and have the freedom she longed for. but her hopes and dreams were easily dashed when she found out about her mother’s past through the witch. luckily, morgana in the end was able to be defeated and life resumed as normal.

dulce was one of three daughters born to the famous musician, ernesto de la cruz. due to her father’s status and wealth, she was fairly spoiled throughout her childhood. although there was a part of her that always felt as if there was something different about her. she always felt as if she was born in the wrong body. this realization led her to become her authentic self. despite her mother’s apprehension, she was met with acceptance from her sisters and that was all that mattered to her.
while her father’s busy schedule made his presence somewhat scarce at times, she found herself always looking up to the man. this led to her developing a passion for music, even composing her own songs on the side. yet insecurity and fear of rejection stood in the way of her following her dreams and pursuing a career in music. encouragement soon came in the form of a secret relationship she had with one of her father’s backup dancers. while the relationship between the two was something that they only carried out in private, it filled her with joy and gave her the confidence boost that she had been searching for.
this led her to make a plan to pursue her dreams. only for that plan to be crushed one night when her mother made a selfish and twisted decision. while she and her sisters were asleep, the woman that was supposed to love them all unconditionally set their family home on fire. after perishing in the fire, she found herself suddenly in the land of the dead. while it was bittersweet to see her sisters there with her, she felt herself being consumed with anger at the realization of what occurred. her life, her love, and her happiness had been stolen from her. now she would need to create new dreams and new happiness.

life didn’t have a happy start for wesley seeker but luckily it didn’t stay that way. he was born into a toxic and abusive household but was put into foster care at an early age. while some may think that is better, being bounced around from foster home to foster home gave them emotional whiplash. all he ever dreamt of was a stable home and a permanent family to call his own. that’s when a single hard-working man named grant seeker entered the picture. he hadn’t necessarily had the time to settle down relationship-wise but still had intentions of starting his own family.
while the adoption process was long and hard, wes was finally adopted at the age of seven. wes’ wish had finally come true, he had the family he had always longed for. but due to the trauma that he experienced growing up in foster care, he had a long road of healing ahead of him. he was diagnosed with selective mutism and asd. not wanting to overwhelm wes or throw him unexpectedly into any new environments, dr. seeker decided that homeschooling would be the best option for his son. at least until wes felt comfortable and decided on his own that he wanted to branch out.
during the first few years living with dr. seeker, he barely spoke. but realizing that he finally found a safe place, he began to speak only when he was around his two other adopted siblings. they also began to learn a few things about themself, such as gender expression and how they wanted to be perceived. wes ended up giving himself the name ‘wesley’ around the age of fourteen, choosing the name of one of his favorite star trek characters as his own. he finally felt like all the pieces of his life were falling together. virtual homeschooling ended up paying off for them in the end. wes was able to graduate two years early. he took one year off from school before beginning to apply for colleges.
he was eventually accepted to the university of central florida where he ended up studying aerospace engineering. he wanted to combine his love for engineering and his love of all things sci-fi and turn it into a future career. when he finally graduated, he was offered an internship at nasa where he worked while he pursued his masters of science degree. they had come a long way from where they once were and yet now all of it has been swept away.

sabrina piper was the youngest of three children born to sophie piper. it was almost fitting for someone as in love with halloween to be born on that same very day. her parents both met while attending witch univeristy, her father a goblin and her mother a witch. as the baby of the family, she was doted on quite a bit but also her mother had turned into the overprotective mother whom she had to deal with during her own childhood. regardless of that fact, the fact that she was a witch was never kept a secret from her. her powers were fairly strong from an early age, but they were also on the unpredictable side. it was something that her mother hoped would be remedied after training, especially since she wanted to make sure sabrina had a somewhat normal life.
her training started when she was thirteen, with both her great-grandmother and grandmother assisting her mother in her training. she felt honored to learn all the spells and things that made the cromwell line so powerful. but she also couldn’t help but feel as if there was a lot of pressure being put on her. she was able to bounce between worlds, visiting the mortal realm while living most of her life in halloweentown. while she loved visiting the mortal world, there was a part of her that felt like she never truly belonged there. it was hard to adapt to what people liked or what people expected of others there. perhaps it was only the allure of something she didn’t have that drew her to the mortal world.
when she was seventeen years old, she began to have strange dreams. visions. while she didn’t necessarily understand that they were prophecies of some sort, she began to journal and sketch down all her dreams. it wasn’t until she was reflecting on her sketchbook that she realized that these were things that happened. it was an ability that frightened her and she decided to keep to herself. when it came time for graduation, sabrina decided that she wouldn’t be attending witch university.
instead, she wanted to attend college in the mortal realm. it was something that her parents were skeptical about but still allowed her to do. she was accepted to a liberal arts school where she majored in fine arts before she vanished. now she can’t help but wonder why this was something her visions never alerted her of.

very little is truly known about where theodor arendelle came from. as strange as it may sound, it was almost like he magically appeared. he was found one day in the enchanted woods by elsa and she decided to take it upon herself to raise the boy. while she always believed her son to be special, that proved to be especially true during his early childhood years. around the age of five, theodor began to exhibit the fact that he was gifted with powers. although unlike his mother’s abilities to control ice, he could control fire.
this was a somewhat dangerous power for a child to have, especially since his powers were heavily influenced by his unpredictable emotions. one temper tantrum could lead to a potential forest fire. so while theo was never asked to hide his abilities, elsa did work closely with her son to make sure that he had the tools and capacity to control his abilities. she never wanted him to be fearful of potential damage he could cause and wanted to make sure he felt in control. but that didn’t mean that he was instantly self-assured, he still was filled with self-doubts that only gradually built over the years.
one of the things that made him feel the most unsure was his occasional trips to arendelle to visit his extended family. being around so many new faces would often set off his anxiety thus causing his powers to go a bit haywire. no matter how much he tried to practice mindfulness and self-restraint, it felt like he was reined in by his emotions and it frustrated him endlessly. still, he tried his best to hide how he felt and enjoy each moment he was able to spend with his aunt, uncle, and cousins. yet another motivating factor for him to get his emotions in check soon came when he realized his desire to one day become an arendelle historian.
if he was going to possibly leave the enchanted woods forever and live within the kingdom, he would have to work hard. but both his aunt and mother reassured him that he could do anything he put his mind to. he only hoped that they were right.

for someone that hated their father as much as calliope facilier did, it was ironic that she managed to follow in his footsteps. her father wasn’t necessarily involved in calliope’s childhood, that was something her mother made sure of. her mother built him up as a monster to her children, something that was probably justified for the most part. bitterness from heartbreak had driven her away from the man after he chose his livelihood as a con artist over family. while her father’s abandonment of his children was something that caused deep seeded issues to form inside calliope, his absence also made her a stronger person.

brian necrodopolis was one of three children born to addison and zed. the complex nature of his parents was reflected through their children, all three were born part zombie and part alien. but for as long as he could remember, brian longed for nothing more than to just be ‘normal’. he would often do everything in his power to hide who he was when he was growing up. from dying his hair religiously to disguising his z-band as much as possible. while he was never ashamed of his family and believed in the equal treatment of all in seabrook, his insecurities pushed him to do things he would never encourage others to do.

that title earned him perks and popularity at school, something he didn’t want to be taken away from him. due to this fact, he distanced himself from his siblings at school out of embarrassment. instead of relying on his immediate family for support, he often found himself turning to his godfather bucky for guidance. the complexities of his family life aside, brian’s love life was a total mess as well. he ended up messing around with one of the boys on the school’s football team despite the other having a girlfriend publicly. he naively believed the other when he kept telling him that he would eventually leave her, nothing ever changing.

lilith hallows is one of three children born to the mayor of halloween town. due to her father’s reputation and position, lilith couldn’t help but feel as if there was a lot of pressure put upon her from an early age. halloween town was all she ever knew and it had always been her home, but it never truly felt as if she belonged there. sure, she loved the idea of halloween but celebrating it and embodying the spirit of the holiday nearly every day was challenging for her. she had never truly been a big fan of things that went bump in the night or horror yet she felt obligated to pretend as if that was true about her.

beyond her fears, her father was a bit overbearing and protective throughout her childhood. she found herself stuck to the confines of her own home due to both her father’s protectiveness and her foolish fears. while it was lonely to say the least, she was thankful that she had both of her siblings to keep her company. in a way… it was a misery loves company situation. although whenever nighttime came, lilith would gather up all her courage and sneak out of her home. she often remained hidden in the shadows where she would watch others, dreaming of the day when she would escape for good.
