the simplicity of lactase supplements is so funny to me. it costs like $4 to circumvent evolutionary biology. want to eat dairy but your body doesn’t produce the enzyme necessary to digest lactose? the devs haven’t patched that yet but you can download a mod

$50,000 immediately dropped into my bank account wouldn't improve EVERYTHING but boy it sure would be a grand, sexy little start to a good, happy life path, don't you think

Jason: Yeah? Well YOU'RE adopted!
Tim more or less about to lose his shit: We're ALL ADOPTED
Damian in the background about to speak up
Tim: You're not a part of this

Ah yes, the ironic problem of hearing too well. Honestly same.
Why do people need subtitles to watch a show in English? I don't get it. What is wrong with the ears of young people?

I still have my army of DVDs. Sure most of them are on streaming services, but I’m not paying for those streaming services and with the crackdown on password sharing, I can’t use my parents accounts.
And even then; maybe, just maybe, I shouldn’t have to pay to rent what I already own. Maybe I shouldn’t have to use the internet to watch something sitting in a case. Maybe I deserve to keep that which companies want to force me to borrow.
RB if you think CD drives in computers are not obsolete, but in fact still necessary, despite being artificially phased out

I love how almost unanimous the tail votes are. Like the horn voting is at lead close, but the tail voting is practically a clean sweep for one option.

…quasi-computer illiterate question: would this make an internet based game run slower and possibly crash a lot more than usual?
Is it me or has this site become much slower as of recent?

I just....I just learned that there's a word in the English language...for when you run into someone to hug them with all the enthusiasm and strength you have....I learned that it's called glomp.
My God, English has so many words to describe physical intimacy, I'm in love

The impulsive thought won.
I stuck my cat on top of the refrigerator and now she won’t come near my hands so I can help her down.

What classifies as basic? Because believe it or not, Turkey Hill Mint Chocolate Chip sells more cartons than Turkey Hill’s version of the three flavours you listed which, to me, says its popularity makes it more of a basic choice than chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry.

Going back to the whole "wasting people's time" and "hi is only half a second" thing, let's put this into a bigger perspective. I work in a call center and right now we are slammed and every day at least one caller that I get insists complaining about the hold times while 10 other say "Thank you for picking up". Between longer complaints the short "thank you for picking up" it averages to 15 extra seconds per reference to the hold time. I have 150 coworkers and I'm at the biggest of 3 locations. If everyone at my location only get 1 person mentioning the hold time, that's 37 minutes and 30 seconds added to the overall hold time. Over half an hour of added hold time from 150 people complaining about the hold time. And each one of them probably thought "I am not wasting anyone's time by complaining about being on hold." Meanwhile I can see the call queue is anywhere from 185 to 450 people waiting to have their turn to have their statistically 3 minute issue handled and I know that the result is I've helped less people by listening to this complaint, that there are 12 people who couldn't be helped by my office today because 150 people thought "it isn't wasting anyone's time to complain about my time being wasted on hold." And that's just my office, there are 3 call centers, so the problem just compounds. So what might seem polite or worth saying to the lowest person in the chain of command to you is going to be perceived as rude by me and I'll maybe seem a bit rude to you by trying to let you do your job efficiently.
Natalie Portman being confused by the fact that you have to say “hi” to someone before starting a conversation in France got me like ?????
