Five Nights at Freddy's: Obsolete, Night 17: The Storyteller
Tumblr media
''Five nights left to find you, one last thing to tend to. You'll fear what I can do, but you'll never run. Ghosts warn of my actions, but I'm the main attraction. You'll bring my satisfaction, our little horror story's just begun.''
– Our Little Horror Story by Aviators (Five Nights at Freddy's 3)
xXxXxXx
Sam sighed tiredly, remaining silent as she was doing some research of the Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex while sitting on her bed, as well as reading the most recent e-mail she had gotten from Anthelm, her boss. It was an e-mail she had already been expecting, but it still left her with a pit in her stomach, a sense of dread, and a surge of excitement.
''Honestly, I don't know whether I should be excited or freaking out,'' Sam had told Springtrap, who was sitting at the end of the bed. ''I know it says that I'll be going to the Pizzaplex on Friday afternoon for my training, as well as spending the weekend there for further training, and Anthelm had told me that I would be trained to maintain the Glamrock Animatronics properly, but it all feels so sudden.''
''Granted, this was something we both knew that would happen, but I doubt you would be able to prepare yourself for what might await you at the Pizzaplex, especially in comparison to Ricky's Wonder Shack, the Machinations Factory or even the local Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria location,'' Springtrap pointed out. ''We both explored Freddy's before it had even opened and read all the documents in relation to the animatronics before you got your job, and you were already familiar with Ricky's. As for the Machinations Factory, while it was unknown territory, we did explore it while it was abandoned, and even though Connor was working there, we were somewhat aware of the possible danger.''
''Right… Meanwhile, we really have no clue what might await us at the Pizzaplex. This isn't the same thing as being at a location with haunted animatronics guarded by a night guard. This is going to be a huge location with many attractions, and I sincerely doubt they would give me access to any documents in regards to the information I would actually need if I want to find Glitchtrap, like the network system. I'm also certain that there will be several areas I won't have access to. The most I can expect is access to a maintenance room where I can fix the animatronics,'' Sam agreed.
''This would leave me with the task of exploring areas you cannot access,'' Springtrap said. ''While they might not allow me to go to any of the employee-only areas, I'm certain that I still might be able to find something of importance.''
''Right… I wonder what the new animatronics' reactions will be to your presence. After all, if the Showtime Animatronics were prototypes for the Glamrock Animatronics, then they should have a highly advanced AI, being able to feel all kinds of emotions and respond in a human-like manner in situations,'' Sam mused.
''They'll probably wonder what a Showtime Animatronic is doing in their location, since that's my cover story,'' Springtrap responded in a snarky tone. ''They might get jealous or try to kick me out.''
Sam snorted. ''I'm certain that you'll work your way around it.''
''I wonder if we're going to meet Vanessa at the Pizzaplex,'' Springtrap suddenly said, his comment surprising Sam. ''If we're correct in our assumption of her working with Glitchtrap, then we can be certain that she would also be at the Pizzaplex.''
''I suppose you're right… I'm not looking forward to it. I mean, we just talked over e-mail so she could send me her version of Help Wanted, so I have no idea what she's like. Sure, I could ask Dad about her, but I somehow doubt that the Vanessa he knows and the Vanessa working with Glitchtrap would act the same,'' Sam replied. ''We don't know how much influence Glitchtrap has over her. I mean, from what Tape Girl had told us, Jeremy hurt himself quite seriously, so one can only imagine what he had done to Vanessa.'' She then turned her laptop around for Springtrap to see. ''Check this out. There will be multiple Pizzaplex locations all over the country.''
''Frankly, I'm not surprised that Fazbear Entertainment decided to expand, but isn't this being too overconfident? They don't even know how one location is going to work out, let alone multiple,'' Springtrap replied. ''Admittedly, I doubt people outside of Utah… or even outside of Hurricane, woud know much about the Missing Children Incident unless they had played those Five Nights at Freddy's games or the Help Wanted game.''
''You're right. I suppose Fazbear Entertainment decided to spare no expense for this. However, the multiple locations do make me wonder… At which location is Glitchtrap going to be? Just this one in Hurricane? Or maybe he won't be in Hurricane? Maybe he's at a different location?'' Sam pointed out.
''I doubt it. Sending you out of all people the virus-infected Help Wanted game was deliberate. He will be there,'' Springtrap told her, only to fall silent for a moment. ''Although, I'm not sure what exactly is his nature as a virus, because he might as well infect other locations without us knowing.''
''True… but if we do manage to talk to him, we'll at least get an idea of what he's up to, as well as figure out how to deal with him,'' Sam replied, taking a deep breath as she leaned back. ''If there is one thing you are right about, it's that this won't be same as the situation with Connor. He was just one man with a few animatronics he himself built, and even those did not want to work with him. This is Fazbear Entertainment, and we know what they're capable of. I suppose we're lucky to just have to deal with Glitchtrap, because it would've been a whole another deal to try and shut down Fazber Entertainment as a whole.''
''I'm sure that they will eventually dig their own grave,'' Springtrap told her.
''Yeah… Speaking of digging one's own grave…'' Sam gave Springtrap an uncertain look, closing her laptop and placing it on the table, then taking something out from the drawer and tossing it towards Springtrap. The bunny animatronic caught it, curious about what it was, only to realize that it was a heart-shaped locket. The top of the locket was engraved to look like as if angelic wings were forming the heart, with a purple gem encrusted in the middle. He quickly recognized it.
''Hey, isn't that the locket you got from your birthday?'' he asked. Sam nodded.
''Yeah, and you can put photos inside it. Open it,'' she told him.
Curious, Springtrap followed her suggestion and opened the locket, being quite surprised about the contents. The left side of the locket held a photo of Sam's parents, Emma and Aaron, and they looked much younger, hugging each other and smiling happily at the camera. The right side contained a photo of Springtrap, with a memory of Sam asking him to take a photo of him flashing in his mind. He glanced at Sam, who just crossed her arms and lowered her eye-lids.
''Yeah, I kept a photo of you with me,'' Sam told him in a deadpan tone, her face turning a faint shade of pinkish-red, clearly still being embarrassed.
''Honestly, I'm honoured that you consider me important enough to place a photo of me inside the locket,'' Springtrap told her, smirking in response. Sam shot him a glare, with Springtrap noting the uncanny resemblance to Emma, but she then sighed.
''Yeah, you were important to me, until you abandoned me. That's when I chucked the locket into the drawer and tried to forget about it,'' she told him.
''Why did you do that? I mean, throwing away the locket. Why didn't you take out my photo and threw it in the trash?'' Springtrap asked. Sam puffed up her cheeks, clearly not wanting to answer, but she then relented.
''I guess I just didn't want to believe it,'' she admitted, feeling her throat tightening. ''I just didn't want to throw it away.''
''I see… Need a hug?'' Springtrap asked, surprising Sam. She stared at him for a moment, then nodded. She then shifted closer to the animatronic, burying her head into his chest, and Springtrap could feel her shaking.
''I really have abandonment issues…'' Sam grumbled, loud enough for Springtrap to hear.
''I'm not surprised. Even if you're fine with your parents' divorce, you had been ditched by your supposed friends some time before we met. You were still clearly hurt by what had happened and you just wanted someone you could confide to, and somehow, I became that person,'' Springtrap said in a gentle tone, calming Sam down.
''Yeah…'' Sam sighed. ''Honestly, I still feel like I should be mad at you, but I can't.''
''That's understandable, especially after what happened these past couple of days,'' Springtrap replied, with Sam looking up at him and shooting him a glare. He just gave her a sheepish look. ''Sorry.''
''No,'' Sam replied, leaning back and sitting up. ''It's not like this is the first time we've had this conversation. Remember when Elizabeth attempted to adopt me as her sister?''
Springtrap snorted, remembering the conversation he had with his children. Michael certainly wasn't happy about Sam getting too close to the Afton family, while Elizabeth pretty much considered Sam her sister and was happy to communicate that. As for Sammy, he sided more with Elizabeth than Michael. ''I do. It was an awkward conversation for everyone.''
''Right…'' Sam muttered.
''If you really feel that uncomfortable, we don't have to talk about it,'' Springtrap quickly told her. Sam shook her head, much to his surprise.
''At this point, I don't think it would matter, since we both were already confronted with the truth,'' Sam replied. Springtrap's ears drooped and he gave her a curious look.
''Are you really fine with this?'' he asked.
''After thinking through everything, I had realized that, yeah, I'm fine with this,'' Sam responded. ''I still see you as a father figure, but don't expect me to refer to you as such.''
''Don't worry, I'm fine with that. I'm just glad that you're not angry at me anymore,'' Springtrap told her.
''Right, and let's hope that it stays that way,'' Sam responded in a deadpan tone. Springtrap just gave her a sheepish look.
xXx
''A Storyteller Animatronic, huh?'' Kylie Anthelm was sitting at her desk, observing both Sam and Springtrap.
Having met the two several months ago while they were snooping around the building and decided to give Sam a job based on her not only being able to fix the animatronics, but also the fact that the Showtime Animatronics never showed any aggression towards her, especially in comparison to the previous technicians. Nevertheless, as long as she did her job, Anthelm had no complaints.
As for Springtrap, Anthelm had to admit, she was taken aback by the fact that Sam supposedly built him, based on her love for the Freddy's Franchise, but she agreed to let him roam around Freddy's, since he fit the aesthetic and was based on an existing animatronic. She figured that, as long as he wasn't an animatronic from a competitor, things would be fine. Of course, things didn't turn out to be quite fine as Sam regretfully informed her how Springtrap was broken, providing no information beyond that.
Anthelm could tell that Sam was quite upset, figuring it was because the animatronic had broken and the added stress of her starting high school again. She didn't want to bother her with unnecessary questions, and she was pleasantly surprised to see the bunny animatronic once again roaming around Freddy's, with Sam somehow managing to fix him and make him fit even more the Showtime Animatronics aesthetic.
As for the current situation, she was met with a question in regards to Springtrap working as a Storyteller Animatronic while he was here. While Anthelm did allow him to stay at Freddy's while Sam was at school, that was it, and the two offered the idea of Springtrap unofficially joining the Showtimes, with Sam picking him up after school.
''Admittedly, we already have a Storyteller Animatronic in Foxy…'' Anthelm said, trailing off as Sam interrupted.
''Right, but Foxy's stories are mainly about pirates and adventures. Springtrap and I had figured that that he could do a different genre,'' she explained.
''Which one?'' Anthelm asked.
''Horror,'' Springtrap answered, with Anthelm rising an eyebrow in surprise. Springtrap just kept a confident look. ''Sam had informed me about a video game called Help Wanted, that addresses the past locations at Freddy's, and we both had figured that some of that lore could be used to for Freddy's-, or rather, Five Nights at Freddy's, themed horror stories.''
''I see… Although, I'm not sure whether that would be okay in regards to the current policy,'' Anthelm replied, with Sam and Springtrap exchanging glances. ''After all, the information I got is that none of the staff members, or animatronics for that matter, should address any past events for the sake of the public's peace.''
''That's true, but I had played through Help Wanted, and most of it just has animatronics attacking the night guards or technicians at various location. I'm sure a story like that wouldn't go against the policy. Not to mention, they have drawn inspiration from those Five Nights at Freddy's games some rogue game developer made, and from playing them, I can say that the stuff inside them is quite exaggerated,'' Sam responded. Anthelm hummed curiously.
''Exaggerated, you say? Well, I suppose these kinds of horror stories would be within the policy. Besides, I had been wondering about attracting more patrons. While this is a family-friendly establishment and mainly directed towards children, I believe that it wouldn't hurt to add some kind of attraction that would cater to teenagers and young adults. As a teenager yourself, you would most likely know what they would like,'' Anthelm replied, looking at Sam, who just nodded in a quick response.
''I have already found videos on YouTube of people playing Help Wanted and expressing interest in Freddy's, and some were even making their own theories, like that Game Theory channel,'' Sam replied. ''So, I can say for sure that people my age would certainly be interested.''
''Not to mention, with me around, there is a less likely chance for them to bother the Showtime Animatronics while they're interacting with the children,'' Springtrap added. Anthelm smirked.
''It actually doesn't sound too bad. As long as it is within company policy and patrons are satisfied, I don't see why we couldn't add you to the restaurant. However, I assume that this would only be temporary, right?'' she asked.
''Yeah, considering how Springtrap is my animatronic and not property of Fazbear Entertainment. But, as I said before, I don't mind borrowing him for the time being,'' Sam replied.
''Then, I suppose that's settled,'' Anthelm said with a smile on her lips. ''Just make sure to inform the other animatronics, so there won't be any misunderstandings.''
''No problem,'' Sam replied, with her and Springtrap leaving the office. Once the door was shut, Sam fist-pumped in excitement. ''All right! This went better than I thought it would.''
''Admittedly, while Anthelm might not be your typical manager at Freddy's, she does follow the same philosophy. So long as they can make money, they'll take any opportunity, regardless of how dubious the practice might be,'' Springtrap said as they walked to the main area.
''Yeah, but we got that sorted out. Now all we have to do is to tell Freddy and the others about it,'' Sam replied. ''I imagine that they won't be too happy about it.''
''I'm certain that they won't, but once we explain the situation, I'm sure they'll understand,'' Springtrap replied.
xXx
Sam and Springtrap waited until closing time to talk to the Showtime Animatronics, who seemed to have already noticed that something was amiss. The moment they have found themselves alone in the building and Sam had announced that they'd have to talk, everyone turned their heads immediately towards Springtrap as if accusing him of a crime.
''Why are you looking at me like that?'' he asked in confusion.
''We don't know yet, but we're sure you have done something and we should be angry at you,'' Bonnie replied, his response causing Sam to giggle Springtrap groaned, rolling his eyes.
''Why am I not surprised?'' he grumbled.
''Give him a break, guys, he hasn't committed any crimes… so far,'' Sam told the Showtimes.
''Right… so far?'' Springtrap did a double take, with Sam just giving him a smug look.
''Then, what is going on?'' Chica asked.
''I had figured out a cover for myself, that being to work as a Storyteller Animatronic who specializes in horror stories,'' Springtrap explained. The Showtime Animatronics just stared at him in stunned silence, with both Springtrap and Sam worried that they'll break out in protest, but instead, they all looked resigned to their fate. ''Are- Are you guys okay?''
''Obviously, we're not, but I doubt that any amount of protesting would help,'' Freddy said.
''Yer not joinin' our crew, lad!'' Foxy growled. Springtrap held up his hands in defense, clearly trying to calm them down.
''I don't plan on joining either. However, since I'm already staying here, I might as well do something useful. Not to mention, keeping an eye on you guys in case you act up,'' Springtrap explained. ''Besides, this is all temporary, since my main goal is to investigate the Pizzaplex.''
''I suppose that can work, then,'' Puppet said, adding in a threatening tone, ''However, don't do anything stupid while you're here.''
''Of course I won't,'' Springtrap responded in a snarky tone.
''I don't like your tone,'' Puppet replied, her pinprick eyes glowing.
''As I had promised before, I would never dare to think of such thing as creating trouble for you,'' Springtrap replied, peppering his response with a distinct British accent. The Showtimes just gave him an 'Are you kidding me?' stare, while Sam burst out laughing.
Puppet just gave Springtrap a death glare. ''Smartass.''
Springtrap simply folded his arms, giving her a smug look.
xXx
The next two days were rather… interesting. Springtrap didn't expect his presence to be noticed by people so soon, as he still stayed away from the crowds, but he was noticed by a couple of children on their way to the arcades, as well as a few teenagers who took an interest in him. He put on a show for them, telling them hew was a new Storyteller Animatronic, and they were genuinely curious, mainly because they were convinced that his stories wouldn't be really scary. After all, what kind of animatronic at a family-friendly establishment would tell a story that wasn't child friendly?
''…as he opened his eyes, he realized that he was being held down, pinned to his chair, and surrounded by those dolls. Before he could scream, they opened his mouth, and one of the dolls crawled inside it, and he could feel her climbing down his throat. Now, the swelling finally made sense. His chest was bulging as another doll joined. After all, there was always room for one more.''
Springtrap finished the story, looking back at the teenagers who just stared at him with morbid fascination. One of the girls was shaking and hugging herself, feeling like something was crawling under her skin. Another guy was pale, looking like he was going to get sick. Obviously, none of them were prepared for the very graphic descriptions of Springtrap's, admittedly made-up, story.
''Ugh, okay, but there is no way something like that could happen in real life. Such small animatronic dolls don't exist,'' one of the guys tried to blow it off.
''Oh, I wouldn't say so,'' Springtrap replied, clearly enjoying the brief look of fear on the teenagers' expressions. ''I have seen them before. They're called Minireenas, and they used to be present at one of Freddy's sister locations. Unfortunately, the location did close down, supposedly because of gas leaks, but there is a strong possibility that a night guard had been found with his skin ripped open, small dolls crawling over him like cockroaches.''
''I don't want to listen to this anymore…'' the girl in the group said, grabbing the two guys by the hand and quickly walking away. Springtrap just chuckled darkly. Admittedly, he wasn't certain how well he would adapt to his new job, but he had to admit that he was starting to really like it, if only to see how much he could freak out the people that would ask him for a story.
''You're a sadist.''
Springtrap turned to the source of the comment, that being Freddy Fazbear, who had stopped to check on his new co-worker and overheard most of the story.
''I am merely taking pride in my work. They had asked me for a horror story that would give them nightmares, so I did. It is not my fault that they cannot handle it,'' Springtrap replied.
''Regardless, it is clear that you're loving seeing the terror in their eyes,'' Freddy pointed out.
''Maybe I do, but it's not like anyone's getting hurt… aside from being mentally scarred and probably suffering from nightmares,'' Springtrap added in a casual tone, with Freddy just giving him an annoyed look. ''Don't worry, I saved those for the teenagers and young adults. I'm not going to tell the more graphic stories to children.''
''You better don't-'' Freddy stopped, his and Springtrap's attention being drawn by the sudden yelling. It appeared that a woman, a specimen of the annoyingly common type of human known as Karen, got into a fight with one of the waiters over the pizza she had delivered. Freddy sighed. ''Not again.''
''I feel your pain. I had to deal with these kind of people back in the day when Fredbear's Family Diner was open,'' Springtrap told him. Freddy gave him a curious look.
''Really?'' he asked.
''Henry was never the confrontational type, so I had to deal with the more problematic customers. He was fine interacting with the friendly patrons, but whenever someone like that woman appeared,'' Springtrap pointed at the Karen, who was now demanding the manager, ''he would throw me under the bus and ask me to tell them off.''
''I will admit, considering what you're like as a person, I can see why he would send you to deal with them,'' Freddy said, a small smirk creeping up on his expression.
''I'm just glad that I don't have to deal with these kinds of people anymore,'' Springtrap replied, noting how Anthelm now arrived, talking to the Karen, who seemed to be demanding compensation for not having enough toppings on the pizza, despite her two children having eaten half of it. Clearly, she couldn't be refunded since the pizza was already eaten and there was really nothing wrong with it. Still, she made a scene and it drew the attention of everyone in vicinity, with her two young children crying for her attention because they were bored and irritated by her shouting, but were ignored by their mother, so they wandered away. Springtrap tilted his head as he took notice of that. ''What a headache…''
''Yeah, I agree…'' Freddy trailed off, shaking his head at the situation. ''I hope this will get resolved soon… uh, Springtrap?'' He lifted his head, suddenly realizing that the bunny animatronic beside him was gone. He looked around, slowly panicking. ''Springtrap? Springtrap!'' He groaned in disbelief. ''How did he manage to disappear? He was just here a moment ago. Springtrap!'' Freddy's eyes narrowed as he felt a sudden chill going down his endoskeleton. He did not like the fact that the serial killer bunny animatronic could so easily disappear without him noticing. ''I have a bad feeling about this.''
Unknown to Freddy, Springtrap was prowling the restaurant, searching for the two kids that had just vanished, two little boys who were bored enough to try to get inside the kitchen, and were scolded by an annoyed Chica, and then found their way to the back of the restaurant, to the employee-only area. Springtrap had noticed them slipping into the empty security room, where they were overjoyed about playing with the security equipment. They hadn't noticed Springtrap, who noted that, if this had been the 80s, these two little boys would never be seen again and no one would know what happened to them. Fortunately for them, he was a changed man… for the most part. Unfortunately for them, he wasn't going to let them go so easily.
''What are you two doing? You shouldn't be here!'' Springtrap said, putting on his best 'angry manager' voice, and startling the two boys. They did quickly calm down when they saw that it was just one of Freddy's animatronics and payed no attention to him, instead trying to turn on the cameras. ''Hey, I'm talking to you.''
''Leave us alone!'' one of the boys shouted back, sitting in the swivel chair, with his brother trying to climb into it and his older brother pushing him away. ''No, I want to play!''
''First of all, this is not a toy,'' Springtrap said sternly, walking over to the two and turning the chair away from the monitors and towards himself. ''You two are already in big trouble.''
''Mum said that we could do whatever we want to! If you don't let us play, we'll scream!'' the older boy said, but Springtrap wasn't fazed by his threat. While not always the case, an entitled parent was expected to raise bratty children and he wasn't going to let these two test his patience.
''Oh, I'm not just talking about being in the office,'' he told them, with the two boys giving him a confused look. ''I assume you two came here to eat pizza, right?''
''Yeah!''
''Is pizza your favorite food? Because if it is, there must be food you don't like at all, right?'' Springtrap asked. The boys just nodded, launching immediately into complaints.
''Yeah! I hate carrots!''
''Grandma always makes me eat broccoli! It tastes like socks!''
''Ah, I see… Carrots and broccoli,'' Springtrap started, deciding to have some fun. ''It is good then that you are here. Have you eaten any veggies lately?''
''We had that yesterday for lunch,'' the older boy said.
''So, it's not too late yet. I just hope you haven't eaten too much of it,'' Springtrap said, putting on a look of concern. The boys were confused.
''Why?''
''Well, I know I shouldn't be telling you this… But, maybe it would be better for you to know,'' Springtrap replied, and when the boys started to chant for him to tell them what was going on, he knew he had them hooked. ''Okay, okay, I'll tell you, but you have to promise me not to tell anyone.''
''We promise!''
''Yeah, promise- Now tell us!''
''You see, there is a specific reason why vegetables should be eaten in small portions, especially if its something you don't like. I knew a boy, he was about your age, who was forced by his parents to always eat eggplants. Every day, he had to constantly eat eggplants, with his parents telling him that it was for his own good. He would sometimes come up to me and complain about what his parents are making him do, but he looked fine. However, one day, he appeared and I saw that his skin was suddenly turning purple.'' Springtrap paused, with the two boys giving him a slack-jawed look
''What?!''
''Yes, and as it turns out, he was turning purple because he was eating too much eggplants,'' he continued, noting the look of horror on their expressions. ''Then, one day, he just disappeared. He never came again to Freddy's and I don't know what had happened to him.''
''What if he turned into an eggplant?'' the younger boy asked, now totally freaked out.
''I'm afraid that that's what happened,'' Springtrap replied in a grave tone. ''I assume that he turned into an eggplant and then was cut up and served to another little boy or girl who is told to eat their veggies.'' He turned to the two. ''You two should be careful while eating carrots and broccoli. You might turn into one yourself.''
The two boys stared for a moment at him in terror, then quickly ran out. ''MUUUUUUUUUUM!''
Springtrap couldn't help but laugh at the situation, knowing well what mayhem he had just unleashed. ''Hopefully, this should keep that woman busy enough to realize she was raising two brats.''
''Springtrap!'' Springtrap was startled when Freddy suddenly walked up to him, clearly being annoyed that he had to act as Springtrap's babysitter. ''Why are you here? What is going on?''
''I have noticed that two brats, that Karen's children, have sneaked into the security office and chased them away,'' Springtrap explained.
''Well, you certainly did, because I saw them and they looked completely freaked out,'' Freddy replied. Springtrap smirked, noting Freddy shooting him a glare. ''What did you do?''
''I just acted according to my job. I had told them a story about how they would turn into vegetables themselves if they eat too much of their veggies. They were quite captivated by it,'' Springtrap replied. Freddy just facepalmed in exasperation.
''We really shouldn't let you at all to be around children, regardless of your past,'' he commented. Springtrap shrugged.
''Indeed, you probably shouldn't,'' he replied in a nonchalant tone. ''Nevertheless, I had told you that I wouldn't be here for too long.''
''You and Sam are going tomorrow to the Pizzaplex,'' Freddy stated, with Springtrap nodding in acknowledgement.
''We will inform you and the other Showtimes about what is going on there. I'm sure you'd be interested in that,'' Springtrap replied. Freddy paused, before nodding.
''I would. I just hope that we won't get struck by another disaster,'' he said.
''No offense, but don't say things like that out loud. You'll just jinx yourself,'' Springtrap told him as he walked past him. ''Let's go join the others.''
''Yeah…'' Freddy trailed off, following Springtrap. Even though he loved to work and perform, the way he felt now, he just wanted for the day to finally end.
