As we approach the election tomorrow, I’m seeing many cities preparing for protests, riots, and more.
I have seen university emails and work notices advising people in cities to gather supplies (groceries, meds, etc.) in preparation for staying inside for up to a week post-election. The advisories are akin to hurricane prep.
The means to prepare for danger like this is a privilege that not many have. We have to work together to support each other.
Reach out to your friends. Reach out to your neighbors. Do the people in your life and the people in your community have what they need to stay safe? Are the needs of the members of the most vulnerable populations within your reach being met?
Can you order groceries for delivery for your neighbors? Do you have a place to sleep for someone you know who feels their safety may be at risk where they are right now? Can you and your friends & neighbors provide supplies and safety to homeless people in your neighborhood? Even hotel rooms? Can you and your friends help someone get their meds? Can you escort someone who may be at risk to the polls if they are voting?
Have you reached out to your friends who are in the BIPOC community, the Jewish community, the Muslim community, the disabled community, the LGBT+, and those who are members of more than one of these communities, and made a plan to aid and assist each other through whatever is to come?
Don’t wait for someone else to tell you how you can help.
Reach out. Show up. Make a plan now.
We have each other. We can make that powerful.

first thanks anon!!! im not very confident in my skills but ill try to explain quickly my method
basically i try to break down the hair in simple shapes (don’t draw the locks individually!!), heres an example (w/ my fave gals ✨)
i follow these steps
1. (blue) choose where the hairline is (thats where the hair parts on top of the head, think of it as layers)
2. (red) alternate between straight lines and curves to give rhythm to the general shape
3. add lines inside the general shape and little strokes to give a little more volume
hope that helps a little!
