Renowned rapper, producer, and hip-hop pioneer, Evidence is to release his third solo studio album, and drops his next single and video collaboration with DJ Premier.
Tumblr media
Evidence has announced the release of “Weather Or Not”, his third full-length solo album set for release on the 26th January via Rhymesayers Entertainment.
As both a solo artist and one-third of Dilated Peoples, Evidence has established himself as one of hip-hop’s most accomplished rappers and producers, working with Domo Genesis, Linkin Park, Beastie Boys, Defari, Madchild and Krondon, amongst others.
His production work has already earned him a Grammy Award for co-production on Kanye West's College Dropout, and two JUNO Awards for his work with Canadian hip-hop group Swollen Members.
As fans would expect, “Weather or Not” embodies the very heart of the hip-hop culture; clever wordplay laid over heavy boom-bap production, but Evidence also exhibits his gift for weaving moments of personal and introspective reflection into his writing, whilst remaining true to his hardcore hip-hop sonic and lyrical sensibility.
The album features an array of exciting collaborations including the likes of Slug (Atmosphere), Rakaa (Dilated Peoples) and Jonwayne, plus production from Evidence himself, Alchemist, Nottz, and DJ Premier.
On the making of his new album, Evidence said: “After we made our most recent Dilated Peoples album (Directors of Photography, 2014), I was like, ‘Now what?’. Right away I started doing my weather thing again. I made this new album with loyalists in mind. There’s nothing that’s unintentional.”
Amongst the album’s stand out tracks are “Love is A Funny Thing” which muses on the things we claim to love and, along with guests Rapsody and Styles P, the three dissect the way we misuse that word’s multiple meanings and abuse its power. Evidence also provides an intimate look into his personal life on “By My Side Too” which documents how his son saved his mother’s life by indirectly discovering her cancer.
“Weather or Not” also features the viral hit “Throw It All Away,” for which the Stephen Vanasco directed video has already ranked more than 2 million views, as well as the Nottz produced single “Jim Dean” directed by Jason Goldwatch, which manages to narrate the lyrics by fusing moving and still images together through the creative idea of bringing t-shirt graphics to life.
In addition, Evidence has just dropped his third video ahead of the album release for the phenomenal track “10,000 Hours” produced by none other than DJ Premier. Having already picked up over 100,000 views online since going live last Friday, the track is picking up a lot of steam….fast!
Evidence explains, “On the Dilated Peoples song ‘Guaranteed’ I had a line that said: ‘Some think I’m clever, others think I’m the one who makes too many references to weather… or not’. Every time I would perform that song live, the crowd would always say the ‘or not,’ so I knew I was onto something, and it would eventually become my new album title.”
As if there is no end to his talents, Evidence has also emerged as a world-renowned photographer with more than 335,000 Instagram followers. His work has been featured by numerous brands, including streetwear companies Diamond Supply and V/SUAL, as well as imported beer company Dos Equis.
Weather or Not is out on Friday 26th January and available to pre-order now: https://rse.lnk.to/WeatherOrNot

Grieves drops new video ahead of returning to tour the UK in February following the release of his groundbreaking studio album Running Wild
Tumblr media
Following a three year hiatus, we are thrilled to announce that Seattle rapper/producer Grieves will be returning to the UK in February 2018 for his ‘Running Wild European Tour’.
Tumblr media
Grieves has re-emerged with a follow up to his chart topping 2014 release ‘Winter & The Wolves’.
‘Running Wild’ has a modernized sound that is lush and intoxicating, pairing punchy drums with thick layers of synths and warm bass lines. Whether dark and moody or upbeat and jazzy, Grieves navigates the soundscape, penning verses that range from vulnerable and confessional to carefree.
Recorded in Stockholm alongside Swedish producer Chords (aka rapper Jens Eric Resch Thomason), the fifteen tracks on ‘Running Wild’ do exactly what the album title would imply.
Tracks like ‘Gutz’ and ‘No Sleep’ are classic Grieves ruminations on anxiety and romantic bust-ups, then others such as ‘Faded’ and ‘RX’ experiment with fluttering trap beats, whilst ‘What it Dew’ and ‘5,000 Miles’ offer the rich guitar tones and humming organs more commonly found in classic soul.
The record offers a clear openness, both sonically and thematically which presents a new side to Grieves and his creativity as an artist. It showcases his duelling impulses to have a good time while staying true to himself. This artistic progression in Grieves offers a refreshing development in his overall sound, lyricism, and a unique journey for the listener.
When asked if he always knew he would end up being a rapper, Grieves can only laugh. “Oh no, not really, I was in bands and stuff, but grew up listening to Punk. It wasn’t until I got a little older that Hip-Hop really started to happen for me.”
When Grieves first heard artists such as Mobb Deep and Wu-Tang Clan, he remembers being drawn to their sound. “Hearing all the samples from records that I heard my dad play when I was a kid… You start to hear the connections. When I discovered people like Atmosphere, it was like hearing somebody speak their truth in a way that related to me. That’s when I first started to think about Hip-Hop as a way to really talk about what was happening in my life. Hard to believe that now, over a decade later, that’s actually what I’m still doing.”
While his previous efforts such as 2011’s ‘Together/Apart’, and 2014’s ‘Winter & The Wolves’ might have leaned heavily in the direction of darkness- taking on subjects such as addiction, heartbreak, and poverty, the new record introduces some much needed levity to the proceedings.
At a time when the notion of the “album” is often summarily ditched in favour of records that are little more than a collection of previously released singles, ‘Running Wild’ is very much an album, and intentionally so. “I really wanted this to be a real record,” says Grieves, “I wanted it to work front to back.”
“I've been touring for over ten years at this point, people have seen my show.  They get who I am as a person and an artist, the serious and the light heartedness. Until now I haven't felt comfortable releasing a record that divulges this, to project what you're experiencing live, and what you have come to expect from the records, all in one!”
Coinciding with the tour, Grieves has also dropped his next video from the album for the track ‘A-Okay.’ The video centres around a character who seems unable to cut loose and enjoy the good times and the company he 's surrounded by.
Grieves said, “Life is way too short to be mad at other people’s enjoyment. Go out and live a little, rent a hot tub boat, get your butt touched, whatever... Just smile!"
“Intensely honest...raw emotion”
Pitchfork
“Lyrically lush anthems...well-crafted and poignant”
Consequence of Sound
“Grieves shines as a friendly, thoughtful voice, gladly ready to share secrets”

Brother Ali announces UK tour following release of his studio album ‘All The Beauty In This Whole Life’
Tumblr media
Over the past 17 years, Brother Ali has earned wide critical acclaim for his deeply personal, socially conscious, and inspiring brand of hip-hop.
His latest release via Rhymesayers Entertainment ‘All The Beauty In This Whole Life’ is based on the “reality that beauty is the splendor of truth" says the Minneapolis MC. "Beauty in all of its forms is the outward manifestation of love and virtue. It soothes the soul and pulls it gently toward the truth it communicates. Every word and note of this album is intended to either reflect beauty, or expose the ugliness that blocks us from living lives of meaning."
The 15 track collection, produced entirely by Atmosphere’s Anthony “Ant” Davis, is Ali’s first official release in five years and represents the newest and most refined chapter of his life's journey.
Contrasting intensely heavy moments with joyous and grateful ones, All the Beauty in This Whole Life arrives right on time, to help heal a divided nation through the power of music. Ali wouldn’t have it any other way. "In times of great suffering in the outside world, the most important battles start from within."
"Each of my albums are the result of the pain, growth and eventual healing that I experience. Articulating the pain and navigating the healing allows the people who really feel my music to travel with me. It's not only that we hurt together, we heal together as well."
A dedicated Muslim and community activist who spreads the message of peace and love, and has established himself as one of the most respected independent voices in music. …
Brother Ali is to return to the UK with special guest Last Word:
‘The Own Light Tour’
21st November- Manchester The Deaf Institute
22nd November- Leeds Brudenell Social Club
23rd November- London The Dome
24th November- Brighton The Haunt

J Lee and the Hoodoo Skulls yank the eyeballs out of contemporary blues rock to create their next single 2 Bit Lovers!
Tumblr media
J Lee and the Hoodoo Skulls are an instantly addictive contemporary blues rock band projecting dirty guitar riffs, stomping swamp percussion, and gut wrenching vocals.
J Lee and the Hoodoo Skulls are an instantly addictive contemporary blues rock band projecting dirty guitar riffs, stomping swamp percussion, and gut wrenching vocals.
The Surrey based band blends Americana with bluesy retro vibes to create their unique brand of urban blues rock. Their unique, innovative sound is typically the stuff of biker rock legend that you'd find somewhere down an American highway, and thus have to pinch yourself to remember that they come from the UK!
Fronted by Jason Lee Barratt of whom has adopted a phenomenal vocal range thanks to the lineage from his father (Shakin Stevens), but also honed his own sound which soars over the driving guitars of Harun Kotch on lead guitar and Luke Sohl Williams on bass, whilst sitting on solid drum grooves by drummer Wayne Riches (has also been the live drummer for Skin- Skunk Anansie amongst others.)
Between them, the band have already played on every corner of the globe with international chart success, received national award nominations, and had music used for various advertising campaigns, (including Henri Lloyd and the Mercerdes Petronas F1 Team.)
The Hoodoo Skulls have already attracted interest from European motorcycle brand KLM Wear, and have also picked up an endorsement by biker-esq clothing brand P&Co.
Off the back of their debut single Woman going viral online and a successful UK tour earlier this year supporting Shakin Stevens, J Lee and the Hoodoo Skulls are now back with their next single 2 Bit Lovers, which is out on Friday 1st December ahead of a debut album release set for Spring next year.
The new video exposes the band members themselves for the first time, performing amidst chunky choppers with gritty smokey surroundings pulling you into their atmosphere of ballsy blues rock!
2 Bit Lovers sits perfectly between a classic vintage sound, and something originally raw...J Lee and the Hoodoo Skulls have smashed it again!
“Big, powerful guitar riffs with bone shaking vocals that soar between everything from T Rex to Tom Meighan. Exhilarating. Dust down your Harley and get trashed."
Nitin Sawhney
“Weighty 70's tinged stoner rock that brings to mind big league players such as Sabbath, the Black Keys and Wolfmother."
TAG Magazine
"Sleazy tequila-soaked rock 'n' roll riffage with tips of the cap to ZZ Top, Tame Impala and Rival Sons."
XYX Magazine
"Dripping with a pulsing, fuzzy menace and deliciously sleazy swagger."
TG2 Surrey

Tumblr media
Recent winner of the AIM 2017 Music Award's Hardest Working Artist and hailed as ‘one of the hardest working rappers’ in the industry by BBC 1Xtra's DJ Semtex, ShaoDow still remains fiercely independent, and now drops a new track/video following his recent win!
His debut Fire in the Booth on the Charlie Sloth BBC 1Xtra show was billed as ‘incredible’ by
GRM Daily who described ShaoDow’s freestyle as “something different in a congested scene and definitely… refreshing.”
The music website said: “Shao literally goes off with a flow that sees him act as a lyrical dojo and even spitting in Japanese.”
The enterprising performer is the first ever artist to run his own pop-up shop in major shopping centres across the UK selling his popular merchandise and headphone brand through his company, DIY Gang Entertainment.
Now we present his latest video which has already shot up to 30k views on You Tube within five days, and has been for Spotify’s ‘Grime Shutdown’ playlist this week (see below for video!)
ShaoDow, is a UK Hip Hop and Grime recording artist carving a distinctively different independent path with the release of his third album 'シャウ道The Way of Shao’ which comes with a Japanese Manga comic book of the same name.
With features from Krizz Kaliko, Papoose, Dot Rotten, Genesis Elijah and more, the South-East London musician is using his latest offering to showcase the technical brilliance of his Katana-sharp rapping which is laced with super smart lyricism that doesn’t overreach for a punch line but surpasses regular wordplay with some seriously complex literary techniques.
Delivering blow after blow of great double entendres, metaphors, homophones, similes and imagery, ShaoDow is a rap artist, very much on the rise, who has crafted his uniqueness.
BBC6 Music’s Tom Robinson said: ‘A brilliant rapper with a wonderful flow.’
A disciplined and self-challenging artist, ShaoDow speaks French and Japanese, has a law degree and years of training in various martial arts including Shaolin Kung Fu in China.
His single ‘Till The Casket Drops’ ft. Serocee, Durrty Goodz, AC & Papoose received strong rotation on the BBC Introducing Playlist, BBC Radio 1, BBC 1Xtra and Kerrang amongst others.

Brit Floyd- Immersion World Tour for 2017- European Tour Dates
Tumblr media
The hotly anticipated rock event of the year returns, as Brit Floyd brings the music of Pink Floyd to life once again with its lavish new stage show, 'Immersion World Tour 2017’. The spectacle of a Pink Floyd concert experience is truly recaptured in high-definition sound, and with a stunning million dollar light show and state of the art video design.
As well as performing the favourite moments from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall and The Division Bell, Brit Floyd will also pay special tribute to the Animals album, in its 40th anniversary year, with a show stopping rendition of ‘Dogs’, as well as a host of other Pink Floyd musical gems. The Brit Floyd show has truly become a phenomenon, widely regarded as the world's greatest live tribute to Pink Floyd. Faithfully recreating the scale and pomp of the final 1994 Division Bell tour, complete with circle screen and multiple moving light design, lasers, inflatables and theatrics, a Brit Floyd show really is as close as fans will ever get to experiencing the magnificence of a Pink Floyd show live.   More than a tribute, it’s as good as they say. Believe the hype and don’t miss it!  The new ‘ Immersion’ show promises to be Brit Floyd's most ambitious and best production yet.

Dweezil Zappa: 50 Years Of Frank Dweezil Zappa Plays Whatever the F@&k He Wants
Tumblr media
50 years on from the first Mothers Of Invention album release ‘Freak Out’, Frank Zappa’s son Dweezil and his amazing band hand-pick their favourite tracks from Frank Zappa's extensive back catalogue.
Exposed to the music industry from an early age, Dweezil Zappa developed a strong affinity for playing the guitar and producing music. Able to learn directly from world-class guitarists such as Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen, Dweezil quickly developed into a musical star in his own right, releasing his first single (produced by Eddie Van Halen) at the age of 12.
Since 2006, Dweezil put his own original music on hold, assembled a virtuoso band of musicians and devoted himself to performing the music of Frank Zappa extensively at venues across the world, the only official act to do so since his father’s death in 1993.
In 2009, they were awarded a Grammy Award for best rock instrumental performance for their version of 'Peaches en Regalia'. They were nominated in the same category in 2010 for their performance of 'The Deathless Horsie'.
Witness Dweezil and his band bringing his father’s musical legacy to life on stage, fifty years since The Mothers Of Invention first toured the UK.

Chris Tavener releases his next satirical video and single ‘Faking Cool’ ahead of his up coming stint at Edinburgh Festival
Tumblr media
Chris Tavener is the satirical, comedy folk act talking about what everybody thinks, but nobody says….a quirky combination of Tim Minchin meets Bob Dylan, or Flight of The Concords meets Paul Simon.
Originally from Northwich in Cheshire, Chris writes storytelling songs about the ironic comedy in everything from drunken romance, celebrity worship, football hooligans and small-town problems. His latest EP “i’m sorrdy bi’m drunnk” was championed by Steve Lamacq (BBC 6 Music) who aired the tracks four times.. In 2016, he took on two nationwide tours visiting 10 cities over 6 weeks; the success of which led to a stint at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a second nationwide tour; performing a total of 351 gigs.
His latest single ‘Faking Cool’ sees him throw on some dark shades and plenty of leather (probably fake) in a song that looks at those people in society that are just too-cool-for-school. As the hilariously entertaining music video shows, it’s actually quite hard work being friends with someone who constantly pouts and struts around like they own the place.
What does being ‘cool’ really mean? One man’s cool may be another man’s ‘Faking Cool’.
Chris is making an art out of catchy comedic tunes with clever lyrics and it’s no surprise that his popularity is soaring with fans raving about his live shows.
Faking Cool is out on the 28th July.
