This is unfortunately the last one I'm going to be doing for now as in addition to a looming feeling of art burnout, some important stuff suddenly came up. I put the deets (including what to expect from me in the near future) under the cut if you're interested.

I am officially on uni break for about 2 weeks so I'm gonna try to catch up. I'm also probably not gonna do as much as I wanted unfortunately bc I don't wanna wear myself too thin lol

Idea: when steambots are first constructed and another bot lights the very first flame in their furnace to bring them to life, it's not instantaneous. The flame takes time to warm and animate the body, maybe a day or two. From there the bot spends roughly a month in the botling stage where they are most like a human baby: unable to properly speak, walk, or care for themselves, and they spend a lot of time sleeping. The lights of their eyes start off very tiny and grow larger to fill the space over time. They can make sounds, mostly boops and beeps, mechanical noises, etc. Like a human baby, they learn through interaction and the more attention and support they receive, the faster they will move into the tykebot stage where they are more akin to a human toddler or small child. They are likely to get some minor upgrades at this next stage from a parental figure or guardian to enhance walking capabilities. The shortness of this stage makes it a very critical time period for a steambot, so they needs lot of bot interaction, love, and comfort. Neglect at this stage can have a deep impact on the rest of a steambot's life. It's very common for the child to be named only after they have moved past this botling stage of life.
