X-Hale Workshop
Sarah and Mark from the Irish Cancer Society and the Digital Film School came to Clonmel, to give a film making workshop to ourselves and TRYS from Tipperary Town. We all had great fun taking part. First we were given information on the dangers of smoking. Sarah also spoke about the work that the Irish Cancer Society do. Then Mark taught us the basics of film making. We got to know about camera work and sound recording. We then split into groups, to come up with ideas to make our own short film. This was great as it taught us the process of having a concept being able to turn it into a short film. We wrote a script, decided on characters and came up with a shot list. There were a lot of laughs during the filming. Mark then showed us how to edit the final product. It was a great day and set us up, ready to start filming our own movie.

Last Years Film (The Smoking Dead)
First of all I'd like to start off by saying a huge thank you to everyone who made last years film possible. It was great fun. A lot of us had never been involved in film making before, so it was a learning experience. We never realised how much time and planning went into making a short film. But with the help of Brian (Exit8 Tv) we survived the apocalypse that is film making. It was difficult at the beginning trying to organise all the ideas and make sure everyone felt included in the script writing. On the day of filming it was a very early start. But once they got breakfast into us, we were ready to go. Some scenes took way longer than we thought. It was hard to keep a straight face because we were all having so much fun. We are very grateful to everyone who watched, liked and shared "The Smoking Dead". It was an honour to win first place in the Junior category. Even though it was such a long day it was very enjoyable. We are all looking forward to starting this years film.
