I (Courtney) am so excited to share our final season with all of you. I think we (the ghoulish cast and crew) have really made something special. We went big, with 52 speaking roles and thirteen episodes.
It's wild and scary and exciting to wrap a series, and first and foremost I wanted to do Eulalie, Frankie and the gang justice--diving in to learn more about returning characters' backstories and unfinished business and giving a glimpse of what the future holds for our favorite ghosts, humans, and ghost hunters before we fade to eternal black.
It's been such an honor to collaborate with the crew, to see this story and these characters evolve as the fabulous cast brought them to life, and to see this story through to the end.
I hope you all enjoy the season as much as I enjoyed writing it with Georgia Mckenzie and hearing it come to life between VA takes and Brad Colbroock's phenomenal sound design.
We are so excited to share that Fawx & Stallion has won in three categories at the 2023 Audio Verse Awards! Congratulations to Best New Director winners Ian Geers and Lauren Grace Thompson, Best New Show Art winner Sam Twardy, and the whole team for their Best New Production win! Thank you SO much to everyone who voted for us, especially in such an incredible year of debut shows!
If you want to see more of this newly award-winning show, the best way you can make that happen is by donating to our Indiegogo campaign, which runs for 9 more days!
And hey, finally an award WE win and not Sherlock bloody H—
They've posted the winners without any sort of update on social media or emails to the creators who paid to submit. But hey at least we finally have winners.
I wrote about the Audio Verse Awards! This is an opinion piece that explores the good and the bad of the AVAs, with quotes from some other creators.
Fellow audio drama creators what sorts of things related to show production would you like to see resources for? Are there areas where how to guides are lacking?
for any new audio drama creators who’ve ever worried about acting in their own shows because they don’t want to hear themselves, let me tell you this:
having to edit your own voice lines is the best inoculation you can get against hating your own voice
it might not make you love it, but doing it for even just a few episodes is often enough to turn your feelings from “oh ew i sound like that??” to “this is just another set of noises i have to get through ughh”
I've had a few weeks' break from posting on my blog, and as I'm getting ready to return with an audio fiction Sunday post in a couple of days, I'm feeling a little out of the loop!
If you have a fiction podcast that's launched recently, an upcoming podcast or a new season that's releasing soon, or a show you've been listening to that you want to shout out, my asks are open! I'd love to hear some new fiction podcast news!
