you know what i feel like we as a saf fandom are completely forgetting about?
that time travel canonically exists in the saf universe
chimera shows up in wayward guide for the untrained eye as the main company of miner mole, as well as, in the 7th episode, the comic book hero detective dark. this connects flop stoppers as well to the universe. where have a time machine. and go back in time
now, granted, flop stoppers takes place decades after the events of spies are forever, and probably after the death of agent curt mega, considering chimeras still going strong, but still
also, considering a movie studio has access to the time machine, either 1) time travel has been around for a little while, enough for the government to allow certain restrictions but still available (not to the general public, but is still available, 2) the machine was made by a nongovernment job and is sold on the black market or by word of mouth (ie, chimera made it and sold it out to people), or 3) the movie studio just had a scientific branch that worked one time travel
either way time travel would still very rare, expensive, and unknown, but flop stoppers would not the only example of it being used
i personally lean towards number 2 as an explanation, and either chimera or some other group worked to make it
and here, i wonder if barb had any part in it
we know that charlie (guy who worked on the bomb curt threw) ended up working for some rich guy (solve it squad back in biz), so its not that far-fetched to believe barb left a.s.s to work for some other place
maybe after the events of saf, and maybe after curts death, she left, changing her passions from creating a surveillance system to time travel. maybe she felt she could change things if she could go back time, maybe she felt she could make it all right
idk i just think its a really fun idea that should be played with more

The latest numbers coming from Gaza state that there are about 77,575 injured Palestinians as of April 28, 2024.
I honestly see this number as a very humble one, but regardless, I said this in 2014 and it bears repeating: considering the types of weapons Israel is using in Gaza, the overwhelming majority of these injuries are severe and critical. So when we say that well over 77,000 people are injured in Gaza, we're talking about tens of thousands of people who have ended up with a lifelong disability. Thousands of amputees with no proper care. Thousands who will not be able to walk or see again. Many won't be able to go back to school or work again. Burn victims without the means to reduce or take the pain away. Many on life support and many more who will not even make it.
So many open wounds, both literally and figuratively, that we need to keep present in our conversation about Gaza.

Hey, everybody? Especially performers? This your friendly reminder to respect your stage crew/manager during the process of performing a show.
As somebody who has worked both as an actor and as a stage manager, stage crew have the hardest job in the show. Most of the time, in my experience, we are only brought onto the show about the week beforehand, which means we have maybe 4-6 days to memorise all of the props, set pieces, and sometimes light and sound cues. Do you understand how difficult that is?
We have the full weight of the show on our shoulders sometimes, being the ones who have to remind people their lines, running into the dressing rooms to find people before they're late for their cues, and on a few occasions, having to fix set pieces with minimal supplies moments before they go onstage. Let me tell you, that's fucking stressful.
And then for members of the cast who should definitely know better to disrespect us, sometimes to our faces, like we did nothing all show? Have you ever heard someone say "They're bit useless, aren't they?" after you ran halfway across the theatre to find a prop somebody moved with two minutes until it was needed? I have, and trust me, it seriously sets a downer on you for the rest of the show.
Are we a bit bitchy sometimes? Absolutely. But you would too if you're on the verge of tears from stress and have people constantly talking about how terrible or useless you are. We definitely have an excuse.
TLDR, You do not have the right to bully your stage crew when they are the whole reason your show is still up and running.

i've been thinking about the motifs in Spies Are Forever a lot recently and I've realized something.
The "Spies Are Forever" leitmotif (as in the specific melody paired with those lyrics) and the phrase "Spies Are Forever" mean different things to Curt, Tatiana, and Owen.
For Curt, it's his way of giving himself hope for the future. After all, despite everything, Spies Are Forever. We see this clearly in his final monologue before Spy Again (Reprise.)
For Tatiana, it's more depressing. A reminder of what she is and that she can't escape it. During and after Prisoner of My Past, she shows how she wants to "erase all of the pain" working for her country has caused her. That is also why she never says it after Torture Tango. By freeing herself from Von Nazi, there is no one else holding her back from working to get her family back and finally being free of her past and from being a spy.
For Owen, he sings it almost mockingly to Curt in Spies Are Forever (Evil Reprise.) He knows that spies aren't forever, because Owen Carvour is dead to the world and to himself.
