“So, any idea what happens if we stay here?”
“No. And I don’t care.”
Thanks for the adventure, Star Crew~

SVTFOE Season 4
Butterfly Follies/Escape from the Pie Folk
Season 4 is officialy airing and we have some new developments! (Spoilers abound.) A few people have asked for a rundown until it airs on television instead of online as well as an update on where the plot stands so far, so here it is.
Star, Marco, and River have been searching for Moon for a few weeks.
Star and Tom are seemingly still together. Hard to tell, to be honest. The Tom/Marco friendship is going strong.
Star is proficient with wandless magic.
Eclipsa is fixing up the castle and working to free Globgor. No luck so far with the latter.
Baby Meteora is living it up with her mama and may (i.e. probably) retain memories from before she was made an infant. Namely, her hatred of Marco/Turdina. But even Eclipsa says that her daughter possibly having her prior memories wouldn’t be good for anyone. Ominous.
Glossaryck is firing on all cylinders again and tells Star her first mistake was going to the Realm of Magic, and suggests that Star defeating Toffee was one as well.
Beach Day is an event from the future. Father Time gave Star the photo as a gift (likely way back in season 1), and it has yet to happen. Now we know why this particular photo has such an effect on Star. It reminds her that somehow everything will be okay and they’ll have a happy day.
Festivia was one of the Pie Folk, according to their king who isn’t exactly the most trustworthy, but if it’s true, Moon and Star have Pie Folk blood in them.
Moon is back! She’s on her way to Mewni with her family, but she doesn’t have all of her memories. She does, however, feel she’s right where she’s meant to be and remembers the song she sang to Star. (And the next episode is called “Moon Remembers”, so she’ll likely be back to normal pretty soon.)
Those are the most important things. Other than that: Marco bonded with an actor named Erik over makeup (before he was turned into a frog thing), the laser puppies are back, Marco has a feud with a monkey, and Star called Tom stupid and the latter handled it by calling Marco. And that’s about it. Feel free to add anything I’ve missed.

I’d have expected / liked more Starco moments in this premiere, especially following the developments from last season, but I guess they wanted to give all the focus to Star.
Still, we got this. Marco is still as comfortable being Star’s friend, and not only squire, as he was following the events of Booth Buddies, they didn’t backtrack of development. Just didn’t go any further just yet.
