What’s a Supernova Author?

Do you love Emma and Regina, and have some great ideas for stories about them? Swan Queen Supernova challenges you to write a fic that’s at least 10,000 words long over the next few months, and we’re here to tell you that you can absolutely do it!

Writing something so long can be intimidating, but it’s also a pretty awesome experience - made better when you’re doing it with a community! From now until the submission deadline in the fall (that’s about 80 words a day, which is fewer words than you’ve read already in this post), you have an opportunity to join with fandom and write a story you can be proud of.

Supernova has all the tools you need to get started, especially if you’ve never tried writing before! You can be paired with a beta who will help with the things you aren’t confident about, and a cheerleader to root for you and motivate you to keep writing. There are writer chats where writers can talk about their projects and write together, and, if you manage to finish your story, an artist will create something exclusively for it! It’s a great way to try writing a long fic– either for the first time or the fiftieth– and an experience in itself!

And that's a wrap on Swan Queen Supernova 8: Catch a Falling Star

With that last post, we have come to the end of Swan Queen Supernova for 2023!

It’s wonderful to see the fandom still going strong five years after the show ended - and this year you all created:

1.85 MILLION words of fanfic across 78 fics

and 81 pieces of art, including drawings, manips, fanmixes, and fanvids!

Our 72 artists and authors should definitely give themselves a round of applause for all of the hard work they put in this year.

A huge shoutout as well to the:

19 cheerleaders,

42 pinch-hitters,

and 20 betas who pitched in to make this all possible,

and also to all the readers who are commenting and making sure that our creators feel appreciated!
