Does plessie exist in this au?
Surprisingly, yes! I don't have a design or personality or really any plans with her, and don't expect to ever see her anytime soon, but she is the ruler of Sea Land!!
All of the territories (Minus Lava Land, the capital) have a sort of mini-ruler in them (Who can NOT be a koopa for... Diversity and equality purposes) Some other mini rulers include King Bob-Bomb, King Penguin, Goomboss, Madame Broode, Whomp King, and Queen Bee. (They all use different titles)
They're all different in their roles. Mayor Bob-Bomb is just a mayor. Nothing special. President Plessie, Emperor Penguin, and Baroness Bon Beehive are just... Another person in their territory—They hang out, help around, like to have fun, and don't have much importance. They are respected, but mostly just 'cuz they're fun to be around. Madame Broode is similar in that she does jack shit. Most Forest creatures don't know who she is. Or anything. Warlord Whomp is a fucking all-powerful dictator :3 And Count Goomboss is a cranky old "get off my lawn" geezer with a hatred for "kids these days." (His territory happens to have the biggest problem with juvenile delinquents. They like to trash his house every chance they get-)

"We used to be quite the team, too! He would always get me out of trouble, and in return, I provided DESTRUCTION. He always told me what to do, too! He would definitely order the other Toppers around. He might even eat them! Heehee!
... I'm not so sure about what the other Toppers would be like. There is no clear pattern here... Mine's mean, yours is nice, mine is bold, yours is a wuss, yours is short (I think he is, at least), and mine... used to be short... Yours doesn't sound weird like mine does...
Aww I can't seem to think of anything! To be fair, I can't see what they look like, so maybe you will know some 'common Topper trait'?
Now, for the others, I think the other Hariet's would be just as chaotic and fun as us! Well, maybe there's a boring Hariet somewhere, so if she were to join us, we'll have to 'fix' that...
As for Stew- I mean- Spewarts, It's a bit more tricky than Hariets 'cause our Spewarts aren't as similar, but they are both strong, rude, and have a strange ability to spit dangerous fluids. I guess those are things most Spewarts have, then! Mayyyybe with a few exceptions.
Rangos are probably all naive and tall. They are also probably the nicest out of all of us Broodals. Not very hard to gather from our Rangos, haha!"
"Everyone shows their friendship differently than others, and some people are better at it than others! That's why it may seem weird to you. I know my sister has a friend, and she seems like she's struggling to show her friendship.. I wish her luck!
Hariet: "Ooh... Hm..." *Gasp* "Do you think there are universes where... Some of us don't exist?? Or possibly... There's an extra member...? How cool would that be?? I mean, we're different enough from each other, but what about the WHOLE GROUP?"
"Maybe our universes have different people in it besides us...?"
Rango: "Oh boy... Hm... What should we talk about now? I feel like this conversation is coming to an end! Quick! Say something random!!"
Spewart: "... Huh. I guess it's nap time. Well then. We'll leave her here." *Sets the snow koopa onto a public napping bench*

Hariet: "Do you think there's some other Topper that would be a good second in command?? Unless... You WANT a spineless fluffball in charge! And... Well, in general, what do you think some other dimension's Hariets are like? And the Rangos and Spewarts and all them!"
Rango: "It's not like I still talk to them or anything, but it was fun knowing them!! I don't remember many of their names- Just their job title. My boss was super cool and let me leave for my breaks a couple minutes early if I wanted to! The hotdog stand and ice-cream store managers were real sweethearts to be around! And the ticket booth guy? Funniest person I've ever met!! HE should've been the clown!!!" *Chuckles*
"Oh yeah, there was also... Our mascot! She only had to stay in-uniform a few hours a day. The rest of the time, she just walked around, hanging with everybody else. She spent a lot of time with me."
"It was weird... I never even introduced myself, yet she always seemed to want to hang by my stand! She talked to me a lot, and always said I looked nice, which I thought was weird 'cuz... That's just the uniform! There was three other people in the park dressed just like me at all times!! She bought me flowers on a few occasions, which I also thought was strange because I didn't ask her to! She didn't buy anyone else anything! And, I don't really think I did anything to deserve them... She also tried to touch my face a few times... I thought I had ice-cream stained on my fur or something, but she just... Kept her hand there and looked into my eyes. For almost a minute. It felt awkward."
"I don't think she was a bad person or anything... She just confused me."

Well, they're just a bunch of cutie-patootie little babies, that's what they are!!" *Pets the koopa in his arms*

Spewart: "You tried to KILL this child, and she's not upset at all! And... Some of them are napping right now...! They are just... BABIES! I think that Rango's no-killing-kids policy is stupid, but... These guys are my exception. Plus, we weren't even hired to kill any of them...!"

"There's MT, Stewart, and Hariet! MT is the oldest. He likes to cook for us sometimes, which is nice, but most of the time he's pretty mean. I feel like I still don't know much about him, which is weird because I lived with him my whole life. Well,... one thing I noticed is that he seems to hate someone named 'Sil-vey'? I don't know why, though.
Stewart is.. uh.. pretty loud. He does a lot of dangerous things, which I don't like. He is also mean to people sometimes, which I also don't like. Usually he's fine, though. Most of the time, he's funny!
Then there's Hariet. ...She's confusing. She's very nice, but.. she's also strange? Strange,.. in a way I don't think I could describe. We get along great, though!
...That's all I could gather. Sorry if that wasn't enough.. I just thought you wanted to know because you told me you didn't know that much about them."
"Put a bunch of leaves and sticks on it and chase someone over here! Like in the cartoons!"
Topper: *Sniffle* "It's been a while since I've been hugged by somebody other than Rango..."

"Spewart scares me. He's super smart and super mean." :( "And Topper... OH MY GOD, I LOVE HIM- Topper is just the sweetest, most precious little thing. I want to protect him! I want him to never leave my sight!! Even though I know he's much stronger and braver and tougher than I... He's just a lil' baby in my eyes. MY baby."
"I don't think I know enough about your siblings to compare... Stewart & MT don't seem to have much in common with my versions at ALL. (I suppose they have more in common with each other...? MT & Spewart, and Topper & Stewart) Hariet, though... I can definitely see why she has stuck with my version this whole time." :)
Hariet: "Not sure how you'll get a bunch of dirt in without affecting the terrain around it... That thing is DEEP!!! And the nearest river is too far to bring enough water to fill it... Hm..."
"Wait- Maybe we could use it as some sort of disposal pit! Spewart tried to "dispose" of me in it! We could use it like a trash can! Or, a toilet? Or a hole to throw corpses that are too gross to eat into!"

"Is something wrong with this time of year? I thought March was pretty cool... are there creepy creatures of the dark that come out at this time or something? It seems like switching sleeping spots is freaking you out..."

"I make jokes! Like that 'poem' I just made up! Laughing at the things that make you worried softens them up quite a bit. It truly is the best medicine. That's what works for me, anyway.

"I can cut travel time by running. At my fastest, I would say I could go at around 60-70 mph. I could carry you, if you'd like, but I'll have to stop quite a few times in order to rest. I am also ok with just walking, but I still felt like presenting that alternate idea.
As for where we go, after looking at the map, I think we can go clockwise toward sky land, counter-clockwise, or make a full circle and end at sky land (if we would like to visit all of the lands). I would like to see the other lands, but I think it would be fair to let you decide which lands we visit. You know this place much better than I do."
"That's the name my siblings call me sometimes! The one I just told you about! Wow. How can I be 'Rango', when 'Rango' is standing in front of me?"
"It's cozy and wormy and warm!"
Topper: "Oh golly... I don't know what to do... And I don't want Rango to be annoyed at me for continuing to beg him to stay... I-I guess I'll have to try sleeping without him for a change..."
"Um... Oh yeah, no, it has nothing to with animals coming out at night... (That happens at all times of the year-) It's... About my old job... When the nights get warmer, the Koopa Troop starts expanding their reach a bit... Some guards will stay by the castle, and others will go out into the northern areas of Sea, Grass, and... Forest Land. To make sure no threat gets even close to the castle while everyone's asleep. And... I fear that if I sleep outside while some of the guards are in this territory... They'll find me, and... Make me go back... Or they might even do stuff to me right then and there... I'm not exactly supposed to be here, you see... I didn't "quit" my job... I ran away..."
"... DO YOU WANNA KNOW HOW I GOT THESE SCARS? I'll give you a hint. They're from my war days! But I didn't get them from a war. ... That's as much as I'll tell you... Not even Rango has gotten to know any details! I just really hate talking about it..."
Rango: "And, y'know, Emar... I am honored to be an alternate version of you... You're just so nice!!!"
Spewart: "Anyway- Snow Land is really cold. But they have lots of cabins and buildings for us to go into if we plan to stay for a bit. It'd be a great place for us to take our first break. They have "Public Napping Benches" all over the place, because the local species sleep literally all the time. Also, every creature there is super tiny, fluffy, and incredibly friendly! Buuut, if cute, fluffy, tiny things aren't your cup of tea, then we can skip it... There isn't exactly a lot to do and see... At least, not for US, anyway."
"Grass is kinda boring. They do have the carnival as their main attraction, but I assume you wouldn't want to go there... Plus, Rango would be pissed if we went there without him. Grass Land's main thing is agriculture, so they got tons of fresh crops and really good food... But again, if you don't give a shit about that, we can skip it. It does happen to be our parents' burial ground...... So, I'd prefer not to stay..."
"Sea Land is a beach. It looks so small on the map, because most of it is... Sea. I've been told the underwater area is huge... It resembles something another dimension refers to as "The Lost City of Atlantis." We can't go down there, though... The diving suit rentals are hella expensive and the locals down there speak Greek. The ground area is available, however. It is, like I said, a beach. Very nice."
"And then, my second favorite territory: Mountain Land. There's the mountain ranges above, and the cave system down below. It's like two territories stacked on top of each other! I mainly want to head to the caves, because they have the best taverns in the kingdom... (And the ONLY taverns, to my knowledge!) I always go down there when I'm feeling down on my luck to drink my troubles away~! You can skip all the other places if you want, but we WILL be going there!!! I've been craving liquor for the past three hours thanks to you-know-who."
"After that, we should arrive in Sky Land... I already told you a bit about it, so you'll just have to wait to see it in person. To get up there, though, we have to walk up the famous Rainbow Bridge, which is always... LOADED with tourists!!!"

Topper: *Nods* "Just a little something to keep us busy! Oh yeah—Can you ask Hariet if we can borrow some of her blankets for tonight?"
Rango: "What for?"
Topper: "Stewart needs a place to sleep overnight, so I figured some of the blankets will be nice." .3 "Oh, and uh, by the way... I think your fire-friend may have to sleep outside... I think he might... Set the house ablaze. Since it's a tree fort, y'know? And even if it wasn't, I don't know if he could fit through the doorway-"
Rango: "Ohhh, no problem! In that case, don't worry about the blankets. Stewart can sleep in the hammock."
Topper: "Wait, wha-"
Rango: "I'll sleep outside with Emar! I don't want him to be lonely. And he'll keep me warm!! Plus, I won't be waking you up every time I need to get up to do my business... This'll be perfect for all of us!!!"
Topper: "But... But Rango! I can't sleep without you!! I NEED you!!!"
Rango: "You can sleep on top of Stewart like how you do with me! Or, if you need ME specifically, then you're welcome to sleep outside with us!"
Topper: "I can't sleep outside!! Not during this time of the year...!"
Rango: "I'm not gonna leave my buddy out here alone!!!"
Topper: "I haven't fallen asleep without you since I was still in the troop...!"
Rango: "... Toppy, c'mon, you're a big boy... There's nothing to fear. Either option, you won't be alone! I'm sure Stewart would be happy to lay with you. You won't even know the difference once your eyes are closed! (I mean- When your one eye is closed!) Plus, I'll be back with you in the morning. There is nothing you can't endure for eight hours. Nothing." *Pats Topper's head*

Rango: "Now, I have to get back to our guests... I'll see you again in probably less than an hour!!" *Walks away*
Topper: *Hears the maracas* !!! "Sorry, I forgot you were here-"
Rango: "Stewart has the maracas." :3 "Did I miss anything?"
Spewart: "We will have to do quite a bit of walking... Sky Land is in the furthest south-west point of the map. Forest Land is huge, and it's right in the middle of everything!! Not to mention, our current location is decently far up north... It will be around midnight-ish when we arrive... But trust me—It will be worth it!"
"Since, as I mentioned, Forest Land is in the center of everything, we won't have to enter any other territories to get to Sky Land. ... That is, unless you want to make any pit-stops?"
(Here's an old map I drew from several months ago that probably needs to be redrawn, but I'm not going to-)

"It's hard to believe them, if I'm being honest. They even told me I used to be someone named "Rango", and that I died. I don't know who "Rango" is, and I surely don't remember dying. I mean, if I did, then I wouldn't even be here. I feel like they are just making it all up.

Topper: "Which, um, reminds me... How long are you guys staying here...? Are you going to spend the night?? I'd enjoy it if you did...! Although, we don't have any beds for you... Uh..."
"We'll discuss it more when it gets closer to night!! We have random pieces of furniture! (No mattresses, but... Couches and chairs n' stuff! Spewart sleeps on a sofa we stole from Mountain Land one time!!) Hariet has a huge pile—A NEST of various blankets. I'm sure she'd be willing to share! And me and Rango sleep in a hammock together. (I lay on top of him. Very comfy! Only downside is that he has to get up a lot...) We also have... The floor!!"

Spewart: "I hate this dump... This is probably the second worst territory to live in, beside Sand Land...... The two are complete opposites, now that I think about it...
