Here’s another cocktail that I found on the Internet when I was looking for something to do with an excess of key limes on my counter. The ingredients picture is of the recipe after I tweaked it, because I found the recipe as originally written to be overly sweet. I will post both, though, so that you can decide for yourself which one suits your palate.

Key Lime Caipirinha (as originally posted on Noble Pig):

10-12 key limes

1 3/4 oz cachaça rum

1 oz agave nectar

Splad’s “Mommy’s Half-Hour Off” Caipirinha

2 Persian limes

1 1/2 oz cachaça rum

1 1/4 oz agave nectar

Soda water

Squeeze enough limes to produce between 1 1/2 oz-2 oz. of juice. Add the rum and agave nectar; stir or shake until blended. Serve over crushed ice, add soda water if desired. Garnish with lime wheel or wedge.

[Author’s notes: your mileage will definitely vary with making this drink depending on the ingredients you use. Persian limes are much more bitter than key limes, and the flavor profile of the drink will change dramatically depending on what kind of cachaça you incorporate. The first type I used (Agua Luca) is so smoky that it literally smells burned. The second one (Leblon) smells a lot more like bananas. Understandably, that might not be desirable depending on your taste. XD]

Well, I did promise that at some point I would come back to Tumblr and post things. Unfortunately, that means you get to see pictures of my cocktails right now. No Sims yet 😅 Cherry Fizz

4-5 cherries

1 1/2 oz gin, vodka, or whiskey

1/2 oz lime juice

1 oz simple syrup (optional if you’re not fond of sweet)

Angostura bitters

Mint leaves

Soda water

Cut the cherries in half and remove the pits. Muddle cherries, mint, lime juice and simple syrup in a glass. (Creme de Menthe can replace fresh mint if you don’t have it; just use 1/4 oz or less). Add the vodka/gin/whiskey and two splashes of bitters; stir. Fill glass with crushed ice and top with soda water. Garnish with cherry and mint sprig. Enjoy! :)

Hey there Splad! I don't know how often you check your tumblr these days, but I've been going through old Sims stories out of nostalgia today and stumbled back into RatRaceRob's and your stories of the Frios and Simanskis. Idk if Rob is still around but I remembered that you had a tumbr and decided to stop on by just to say thank you for all the wonderful stories you've told. They really influenced me when I read them back in 2011-2012. They will always be near and dear to my heart. Best wishes!

Awww, nonny! Thank you so much for the sweet note. ;_; I am sadly not nearly as active as I would like to be (blame it on the baby!) though I hope every day that that situation might change. I still have storylines knocking around my head that very much want to come out, so as soon as my son is old enough to NOT tear up the house while I’m not looking, I intend to come back to storytelling, if only in a more limited way. :P

I also miss RatRaceRob. The last time I had active contact with him was sometime in 2014 or 2015. He had a lot going on in his life at the time that I sent him my last email, so I tried to respect his space and unfortunately we lost contact. But I figure he’s one of those friends whose path will meet up with mine again one day and it’ll be like we never stopped talking at all. :)

Still alive ...

This is the first time in over a year I’ve tried on any of my semi-formal wear and it was depressing, to say the least. Most of my dresses took one look at my current boobs and immediately ran for the hills. My butt scared off most of the others. I had three dresses that still fit, but it’s not good form to show your rack at a funeral, or so I’m told. My munchkin is making that face because he’s wondering how he’s going to get any lunch from mommy in that dress. (Spoiler alert: he’s not.)

I’ve been asked to sing at this ceremony, so hopefully I don’t embarrass myself and the baby doesn’t embarrass me. Ah, motherhood!
