There’s only so much sleep a teenage boy can go without and, well, Kay’s at his limit now. One minute he’s sitting next to you, the next he’s napping on your arm.

Gavin:
He can’t breathe right; panicked sobs being the only way to get any air at
all. He’s falling, crashing, mind screaming at him and vision swimming.
He can’t do this much longer, can’t hold on any longer. All he wants is for
it to be all over - for his LIFE to be all over. And right now, he’s dangerously
close to making sure it will, for good.
Curious, worried eyes glance over the other teen, take in the scene before
him. He’s not totally sure what to do - doesn’t want to approach, just in case,
doesn’t want to stay away, just in case. “G---av...?”

time to stare at my dash over here

Grubbs:
❛Oh right, c’mon.❜He’d almost forgotten about
that in his fit to make conversation with the guy.
Turning, he lead him down the halls.
He scratches at his face as he walks, unsure
of how to even take this guy. He seemed alright,
for the most part, if a little weird. But then, Kay’s
practically mute. Who the hell is he to judge?

Stranger:
“T-Turn my head? Why?” Not understanding the situation he is in scares him. The living are odd. But he can not keep himself from obeying and turning his head. Slightly.
He has to sort of-- stare for a second. He didn’t think the guy would actually obey his request. Either way, now he can better finish his drawing and then hold it up to the other.

Grubbs:
❛Don’t be like that, you were laughing at me!
That wasn’t very nice !❜Apparently he was in
the mood to take it personally. Grubbs was just
running out of things to say.
Be like what? What has he done? This guy sure was
confusing, wow. “T---our,” he mutters in that strained
voice of his once his bag is replaced on his shoulders.

Grubbs:
Putting his book back in place, he hovered over
his shoulder, watching intently. He was not enjoying
being laughed at by the new kid.❛Y’know there is
more than one city right?.❜Now he was just being
a prick.
He looks his way and furrows his eyebrows.
‘No shit.’ And then the book is closed and
put under his armpit while he returns his bag
to his back.

You are staring. Why are you staring? Do I look that odd?
“Can I help you?” Is that even the correct phrasing?
Yeah. Yeah, you probably can. Maybe. He’s a little embarrassed but...maybe he can use this to his advantage. “Turn y--our h---ead. Sl---ightly.” He might be drawing you.

Grubbs:
❛Are you laughing at me? That’s kinda wack
man.❜ If you think this is gonna deter Grubbs
Grady from a conversation you were mistaken.
Reaching into his bag, he pulled out a writing
pad & a pen. Not like he was gonna use it for
anything.❛Where are you from?❜
He rolls his eyes and reaches into his own backpack.
He pushes past the clutter of pencils and papers and
sketchpads to pull out his own notebook and pencil.
“Sn----ap.” Another chuckle before he writes down
‘I’m from the si city.’

Grubbs:
❛Oh.❜Cue the dumbfounded look.
He wasn’t exactly the brightest, nor
did he speak Sign language.
❛Dunno what that means.❜Now he
was a tad uncomfortable, not that he
would admit it.
His lips tug into a smile and small breaths
leave him in what’s supposed to be a near-
silent round of giggles. Honestly, he didn’t
think Grubbs would know sign language,
but at least now he’s better understand
Kay’s situation.

Ezra:
Ezra is concerned, but he isn’t going to show too much; Kay’s clearly all right, just — really tired and not quite himself. Ezra can relate; he’s had many of those mornings. ❛Yeah, come on. I was just heading to work, I can make you a coffee. I’ll be the only one there for a while.❜
He gives Ezra a grateful smile and then nods. In truth, it would be nice to watch Ezra work. He’s never seen him doing much. Actually, he’s barely seen Ezra at all, really. It’s a pity, Kay barely really has anyone he can call a friend and then... Gah! His mind is wondering and he’s pretty sure he actually fell asleep whilst walking for a couple yards.

❛S’where are you from Mystery man? Are you
from a city?❜He was trying his best to keep the
conversation going—with no help from his companion.
He releases air from his cheeks, a sound akin to a
huff. Well, there’s no two ways around it now. He
extends his arms to make his sleeve push back
then sign ‘I am from the city’.

Grubbs:
❛Kay?❜That wasn’t a very elaborate sentence
now was it? No. Not at all. Not even sure what it
meant? Is his name Kay? Or was that okay?
❛A man of few words I see. Coolio, totally has
that mysterious stranger vibe..❜In which he
needs to cool it with the movies.
He sighs. This guys talks a lot. A lot. Then again,
it could be Kay’s lack of words. That makes
people uncomfortable sometimes; feel the need to
fill the silence.

❛D’ya not speak, or has this placed bored
the words out of you? Cause I know it sure
had for me for a while.❜A shrug. Not
exactly sensitive. ❛C’mon then, I’m Grubbs
by the way,.❜
“K--ay.” There, he spoke. And that’s all you’re getting.
Mainly because he can’t really speak much more than
that without his throat angrily protesting. And the
insensitivity? He’s heard much, much worse.
