“Was there a sense that you needed something a bit different to balance out the material you recorded with Josh?”

“I think so, yeah, that’s right. We needed to fill in the bits. I wrote “Cornerstone” one morning, quite quickly. There’s something to be said for writing in the morning. At other points in the day you’re a bit more defensive. I saw it as a challenge to write something in a major key, but that wasn’t cheesy.”

Pattie had blond hair, long legs, a brilliant smile, and wide blue eyes that conveyed an air of childlike vulnerability. She asked George for his autograph, and at a loss for any other way to communicate his feeling, he marked little hearts under his name. The stunning young model was out of the league of a Liverpool bus driver’s son who never finished school, but she was just right for a Beatle.”

The strange position we, as fans find ourselves in, is that death, for George was not a sad occasion but simply a part of life. I hope you will all take comfort, as I do, in the fact that George experienced everything he wanted to in life and more. And though he may not be here to comment on the downfall of modern music or to release any new LPs, his life, which left a huge impact on the world and continues to do so, though sometimes without the recognition it deserves, inspires me every day and I know it inspires many others.

What I love about George is that whenever I listen to his music I never feel alone, he feels like a friend, like someone I’ve known for years. I’ve grown a lot in the past 2 years and every day I wake up, I feel like a different person, but the one person who never changes is George, he lives within me every day and it’s nice to be able to look to him for guidance and comfort

George accepted his faults and worked hard to redeem his karma, he dedicated his life to something he felt strongly about, he dressed the way he wanted without any embarrassment, he was always determined to perfect his projects, he lived in the moment, he loved and lived and I miss him, he gave his heart to the public and cared deeply for his fans, he was grateful for the love he received from the people that took the time to visit him. How can you summarise what you love about a person and what defines them? You can’t, because there was another level to George that maybe is hard to understand but it is a soul connection that I think many of his fans feel, he was more than his body, more than his actions and that is hard to describe.

When you go out today, look at the sun and think of George, look at the grass, look at the trees and see what he saw, see the earth he loved and see him. Don’t be sad, just remember the way he lived and be here now. Best wishes to George’s family, friends and fans - Amber 🌷✨
