My game currently really hates the Pleasant's house right now, like it invisible soups without fail and I'm pretty sure even the goth manor didn't do that? Might be a troubleshooting day and messing with stuff until it works again day 😭

[Guide] Using Magpie to upscale TS2/3: no more tiny UI!

After finally getting the older Sims games set up for modern resolutions, you may be shocked to find the UI is super tiny! The older games’ UIs are designed around lower resolutions, and don’t scale for high DPI like in TS4. If you try to use Windows DPI scaling to fix it, it can make the game blurry.

Luckily, there’s an easy solution! Magpie is an open-source window scaling app for programs and games, which lets you upscale from a lower resolution without losing too much quality. It comes with well renowned scalers, such as Lanczos and FSR. Upscaling from a lower resolution solves the small UI issue and can even improve performance.

Here’s how to use it:

Set the game to run in windowed mode. For Sims 2, you can do that through Sims2RPCSettings, or by adding “-w” to your shortcut target if you don’t have RPC. For Sims 3, you can use the in-game options.

Once running in windowed mode, set the game to run in a resolution lower than your native screen resolution, such as 1080p if you have a 1440p or 4k screen, or 720p if you have a 1080p screen.

Install and open Magpie. Once it's running, press Windows+Shift+A while clicked inside of the game window. If everything worked, it should upscale to borderless and fill the screen!

You can configure your scaling settings through the sidebar in the Magpie app if you want to try out the different filter options.

Just a quick house I made to fill a corner in Pleasantview. Inspired by this house on MTS but with more CC I guess because I'm addicted to it? Not furnished unless a sim ends up moving in.

Bonus irl thing. Got a mechanical keyboard for the first time ever and oh my god writing posts is addictive. Might finally work on writing more of my Pleasantview story now haha

HOPEFULLY the last update this needs. I honestly saw 50 notes and was like "oh god i need to fix this ASAP" so I did :)

Update 3: Another update, I know. This fixes the wardrobe completely. I had to remake it from scratch but it now has anims and working wall masks! Get it HERE (Post download is updated)

One of my favourite furniture sets over the years has always been the Tivoli, Plantation set by blake_boy over at ModTheSims. As well as some super cute dressers by rgdyanne over at Sims2Artists. I heavily recommend both sets with this pack.

I've used it way too many times and around October of 2022, I ended up feeling like I wanted to work on some addons for it. I've always wanted to get into making actual objects in Sims 2 since I love making things for another irrelevant game I mod. I decided this would be a great way to try and learn.

Included is the following:

Pet Bed (Linen is slaved to maxis bedding)

Cat Condo (Fabric is slaved to Los Gatos Condominums/cheap condo)

Bunk Bed + Ladder + Top Bunk Mattress

2 Tile Armoire

4 different Shelf Inserts

Hi guys!

Been a little while. Losing Beau has been super tough and I've had no motivation to even look at sims. Not sure I'm able to play yet because I'm sure a mixture of Beau Broke and the cat that looks like Beau would break me so I'm still on hiatus.

Good news is, we have a rescue kitten. This is Luna!

Hopefully should be coming back soonish because i really wanna finish off my tivoli plantation addons

Hi guys,

I was hoping to start working on sims stuff, cc, stories etc but that's put on hold. We unfortunately lost Beau today. He was only 1 and I'm in a million pieces. I can't play sims, I can't even go near it. All I have to do rn is go into the broke family and see beau broke and I'll lose it. Not sure when I'll be back but keep being awesome everyone and cherish those you love.

A small upload that I made last week! I had to delay uploading as I got COVID and felt like absolute crap.

These are some small dish draining racks that I made because my Sims lack in ones that can fit in their compact houses. Now these are fairly high poly, unfortunately, but I figured because you're going to likely have 1 per household it's not too bad? There is also a drainage mat vaguely based on the one I have irl too! I have based the plates on a more white version of the base game texture, so feel free to recolour to your replacements!

Each come with recolours to turn the dishes invisible.

As usual, feel free to do whatever you want with my stuff, but no paysites please!

Can be found in Buy/Deco/Sculptures for $20 (and $3 for the drainage mat) and as usual, enjoy! Let me know if there's any issues :)

Well I uh, may have gone nuts and worked on these the past day or so. I think I might polish these and upload them! They also have a recolour option for making the plates and stuff invisible which is kinda neat
