Gentle love prompts #42. Dreaming about them
Hol Horse/reader (gender neutral reader)
You’re in bed alone tonight, since Hol’s away for the weekend on business. You’re proud of him for getting a more ordinary (and more importantly, legal) job, but you still miss him. As you fall asleep, you comfort yourself with the reminder that he’ll be home tomorrow.
You open your eyes in a lush green meadow. You’re sitting in the grass, and some part of your mind is vaguely aware that it’s all a dream, in that muted way typical of dreams. But more importantly, Hol is lying on a picnic blanket next to you.
“I had fun today.” He says, smiling. “I should’a bought more candy to bring home.”
You know somehow that he’s talking about a trip to the aquarium, and a stop at a candy store on the way home. You smile at the memory of aquatic animals and sweet treats.
“I had fun too.” You say, lying back next to him on the blanket. There are perfect fluffy clouds drifting past above you. Hol’s hand nudges yours where it sits between you, and you lift it to let his slide under so you can hold hands.
You stay there for a while, watching the shapes the clouds make (which are unnaturally well defined) and idly discussing your day out. You’re not sure how much time has passed when you hear a ringing sound.
“What is that?” You sit up and look around, but things look hazy and indistinct now.
The ringing continues, even when you open your eyes in your own bed. It sounds like it’s coming from the living room, so you slip out of bed and go to check it out.
You find Hol’s phone laying on the couch, still ringing, next to his hat and coat. A few of his things are scattered across the cushions. The front door opens, and he steps in with his suitcase.
“Oh! Mornin’, honey. Did I wake you?” He asks. You pick up his phone and hand it to him in lieu of a reply.
“Damn thing, I thought I silenced that.” He grumbles as he declines the call. “Sorry.”
“It’s alright.” You wrap your arms around him in a hug. “I’m glad you’re back.”
“Me too.” He hugs you back tightly before you pull away.
“And I know just what we should do today!” You say brightly, feeling inspired. “Let’s go have a nice day out to celebrate you being back.”
“I was only gone for three days.” He points out, looking amused.
“Details.” You brush that off in favor of having a fun day like the one in your dream. “I want to go to the aquarium.”
“Sounds nice.”
“And then we can stop at the candy store for a treat on the way home.”
“Were you plannin’ this all weekend?” He asks with a little laugh, and you smile.
“No, it just came to me last night.”

So this post is a funny one because…lately I’ve been talking to people about Hol Horse. And the more I’ve been talking about him, the more I’ve converted people to liking him so much more. I call this…
Hol Horse-ism.
Absolutely bonkers I know, but it’s so true. I can note two people in mind that I’ve talked so much about this handsome fella, that they too, love him hehe.

Like. It’s wild to me how this is happening I mean, let’s be honest…Hol Horse is either very likeable by many, or simply neural about him. But how can I blame him? He’s so good looking and beautiful and sexy and hot and handsome aaaaah, I am so happy to have even gotten into this goofy cowboy. He means so much to me, and I will spread the love for this ol’ cowpoke 💛

Howdy everyone, I think it’s time I talk about OVA Hol Horse with my very exhausted brain lmao.
But like…just look his face. He looks so comforting! I’d bet it’s so calming, that it’ll soothe anybody’s worries away. And in these trying times, he’d likely comfort the person that’s in need of it.
Gonna feature OVA Polnareff in this post too, because why not? Anyhow, man….just the transition of this scene…it was so, goofy yet menacing at the same time? It’s just like. Yes, you start with the whole “Oh what’s that? I can beat your bum? Oh, you’re into that stuff!” by OVA Polnareff, then OVA Hol laughs with him like silly adult men. Then the whole action of OVA Avdol risking and sacrificing himself to OVA Pol. And just…OVA Hol having such an ominous looking shot with the most hilarious laugh known to mankind lol. Like. And the OVA Pol shot…so many shadows, it’s just so impactful. Also look at OVA Pol’s face, he looks so upset I swear this man is so unbelievably expressive, it’s amazing.
OVA Hol has a golden Emperor, but I’ve already said that before. But I still believe it’s a neat little difference between that and what we see in the anime Part 3 for Hol. Plus…
…seeing Emperor being summoned the way it is, that’s so..wow. I mean, Part 3 Hol usually has Emperor either faintly spawn into his hand, or spin, which is cool, but OVA Hol Horse has it where it comes out of his hand like his flesh is getting ripped, or summons into his hand like wind. And this scene is interesting too because OVA Hol actually attempts to shoot DIO! It’s so cool…I love analyzing minor characters that aren’t often spoken about, and Hol Horse is special in my heart for that. OVA Hol even clenched his teeth so hard, that his cigarette broke off…it’s a small but neat detail.
Love this scene, I mean, he’s just laughing and then the transition goes to: “YOU! I’ll fuckin’ kill you!”, then spits his cigarette into the air as it rotates until he makes his shot at OVA Pol. His shots are so cool everytime OVA Hol is on screen…
Having a motorcycle instead of horses or elephants is also quite the change. Honestly, there’s many things the OVA changed and with Hol Horse, it’s been a lotta changes, but I am satisfied with them. From having a more southern accent, to making him more sassy and serious, and such more but my brain is so worn out right now LOL.
As OVA Hol Horse says: “The gun is mightier than the sword, my friend.”

I need you to hear me out on this alright. I think Hol Horse is a good cook, BUT he doesn't know how to cook most normal meals. He's a cowboy! He travels all the time and usually gets his meals from places he stops or cooked by the women he's stopped by! He doesn't really have time or need to learn how to make full meals. But, BUT, he does cook well. He can cobble together random shit and have it taste good. Ground beef and corn and random sauces is all he needs to make a surprisingly good meal

Hol horse brain rot moment can relate
Suppose since I haven’t drawn anything since the vent art, I feel the need to ramble about Hol Horse again. After all, I do need a break from everything lol. I have taken these screenshots by myself.
I love how he can have such cold expressions at times. Like he’s a Hitman and all, so that’s valid there. But it makes him look so badass at the same time…
Then there’s these, where he is purely menacing as hell! Honestly, look at him…he wants to kill DIO! I think when first watching JoJo, the scene between Hol Horse and DIO was my absolute favorite. Because I thought to myself, “Watch at least one of DIO’s agents attempt to ditch him.” And it was Hol. So funny. Like he tried so hard! He didn’t have a guts to shoot him, and it would’ve been cool to see Hol join the Crusaders, or if not, have his own ending where very rich from DIO’s mansion and retires from working for DIO. It’s not fair! He should’ve killed the mean blonde vampire…
Then we have the silly and cocky cowboy we all know. Look at him…like that pose at this introduction to Polnareff is just so goofy, like look at his legs! JoJo is just known for the bizarre poses haha. Anyway god I love the scene where he tells Polnareff either, “Hey come on! Do it, little PolPol!” or “Come on, PolPol-kun!” Depending if you’re watching subbed or dubbed. Like. Why does he have to be this unbelievably funny. It’s awesome regardless haha.
Hello, we’ll feature Polnareff a bit too because why not? He’s also as silly as Hol Horse. Hol Horse is so expressive, like he’s so spooked…this was also quite the scene to watch. I mean like, look at them. Do I need to explain? These men are so silly together, you know damn well they’ll do some stupid crap like this lmao. I will definitely be feeding some Hol and Pol people today.
I’ll conclude with this screenshot of the beloved cowboy. Man, I’m so normal about this man. And I could make this post much longer, but I’m very tired so my brain rotted this much for today. Thank you for listening!
