The 1st house is the house of self, it represents the native (aka the person) – their personality and physical body, their interests and view on life, etc. The 1st house focuses on the individual, unlike many other areas of the birth chart. The Ascendant is always in the first house and their positioning sets up the rest of the chart – much like your founder sets up your legacy family. Explore, grow and create a legacy of your own. The goal of this Gen is to find your sims’ identity.

Capricorn risings are hard working and crave stability above all else. This can give them the impression of being a workaholic and stand-offish, but Capricorns don’t want to waste the precious life they have on the simple things. Ruled by Saturn, Capricorn can be lured into the false sense of maintaining aspects that don’t need to be. As a result, Capricorns can be seduced into the idea of settling into comfort, not reaching beyond to new pleasures and smelling the roses.

Hello! I am, again, trying the challenge. XD I think it's the third time orz But I think I'm alright for now. Got random a Capricorn to start :D

One question, what about reward traits? I had to buy one in the Leo generation but can we get them freely (I mean, buy whatever whenever) for other generations? Also, don't even know if I'll get to three careers but in the challenge it says oracle branch on business.

Anyway, I'm having fun so far! Probably ask more things later and post screen caps to feel compelled (don't know if that's the word). Ty

Hi there!

I am go glad you are enjoying the challenge - that's the most important part, that you are having fun. So feel free to adjust any rules or play the way you want, there is no right or wrong way to play the challenge.

For reward traits - absolutely you can buy any reward traits whenever you want to make your game easier and better. I highly recommend the seldom sleepy because for some reason sims are always tired! I am guessing you are talking about the "Entrepreneur" trait, that's to symbolize the hardworking nature of Leo, but obviously if you need something else first, do that. Entrepreneur helps you get to the top of your career faster, so it should help you work through the last point about finishing the career. You absolutely do not need to finish two careers when I list multiple, they are just options that I recommend you choose between for your most Leo self (or any Zodiac for that matter).

If i am not mistaken, Aries is the only one that has two careers, the Renaissance aspiration and Gen 11 has politics - otherwise I think it is just the one (maybe some have some for the aspirations, but yeah don't feel the need to achieve everything for all Gens, it isn't necessary).

Example on just playing your way, my Gen 3 Scorpio sim literally HATED being a doctor, so I switched her to being a Botanist and she loved it and reached the top easy peasy by autonomously gardening. My Gen 11 Cancer heir... he literally died as a young adult and I didn't revive him... so I didn't finish all the tasks. I cheated death with my Gen 8, 10 and 12 sims multiple times cause I loved playing them so much - I have death flowers on standby and lil grims to make them younger. I have I think 8-10 generations of horses from the side-quests I was doing. I'm currently on Gen 15 with Gen 16 on the way and still only play in my one save file since I wrote the challenge in 2022.

I would 1000% prefer you just take inspiration from my challenge and have fun than make yourself miserable trying to be perfect. I'M not even perfect playing my own rules.

So yeah, have fun and just enjoy it. I am excited to see your screenshots :D

⚠️ ADVISORY: Malicious Mods, Identity Theft, Malware, and You ⚠️

Hey, all! Not sure how many people will see this, but if you do, please reblog. This is a 'little' post regarding a potentially big problem affecting the Sims 4 community. If you download mods/CC at all (and yes I know CC is a type of mod), this applies to you.

TL;DR: For the sake of your personal info, identity, bank account, et cetera, please STOP downloading any mods/CC for the time being. Especially from the following sites: CurseForge, ModTheSims, The Sims Resource. It doesn't matter if you know the creator or not. Give it at least a week while we all figure out what's going on. If you must, I would recommend only downloading directly from a creator's Patreon (assuming they have one).

Other people have written at length about the mods in question, so I'll just share their posts below.

What's going on?

From the Sims 4 After Dark Discord server (a server you should join if you're not in it already):

⚠️If you downloaded any mod listed in the above post and played the game with them installed, this is the cleaner program Kuttoe (creator of the Home Regions and Townie Demographics mods) mentioned in their post: GitHub - overwolf/sims4-social-events-cleaner: Source files and exe release for a tool to clean up your machine if you have downloaded the "Social Events - Unlimited Time" Sims 4 mod ⚠️

Got confirmation from Kuttoe that as long as you didn't boot up the game with the malicious mods installed (or deleted them completely from your computer before playing the game), you *should* be fine. Still, I recommend that anyone who thinks they might have downloaded any of them run the cleaner program.

So, to recap:

Fake mods were uploaded to Curseforge, ModTheSims, and The Sims Resource

@msqsimsofficial had their account compromised on 2 of those sites (they are a victim of hacking, so do not send them hate!)

If downloaded, these malicious mods have the ability to steal very sensitive info (your passwords, credit card info if saved somewhere in your browser, data)

As of right now, antivirus software may not be able to detect the malware

Mac and Linux users seem to be safe; Windows users are the ones that could be affected

Why is this happening?

Unsure. Lots of theories are being made by people far more knowledgeable than me, but from the looks of things, could be crypto bullshit and/or an attempt to steal your data and sell it. This is very, very serious, and could wreck your life if said data/personal info falls into the wrong hands.

It's always a good idea to change passwords every couple of months or so, but if you think you've been affected, you also need to change your passwords for things like online banking, email and social media accounts, healthcare sites AFTER running the cleaner.

What now?

I want to talk about how we approach modding our games and downloading files in general.

Please STOP downloading mod file folders from people who did not create the specific mods. Period. This includes Sim dumps, building/lots with CC, mod folders promoted on YouTube, etc. This does not mean that anyone sharing them is doing so maliciously. In fact, I appreciate the amount of effort people put into compiling these resources! But unless you're super careful (and super knowledgeable), you run the risk of downloading malware like this on your computer. Make no mistake, the malicious files in question look like run-of-the-mill, everyday mods. Two of them were even posted from a trustworthy creator's actual account! The only way to know what they actually do is to peek into the code, and idk about you, but I don't know Python. So even after this issue is resolved, you really should only download files from the creators themselves.

But what about CC shopping?

Here's how I like to approach it: I stick to lookbooks and combing through the Patreons/accounts of creators who make items I like. If I see a Sim dump with CC that I'm interested, I try to reach out to the poster and ask where they got specific CC. If I can't do that, I see if it was shared via Drive, look at the individual files themselves, then head to the original CC creator's official download page and get it from the source.

I would like to take a moment to thank the sim gods for my Gen 10 heirs. Not only did i reach Gen 10 for the first time ever, but they are so attractive without any tweaking in cas?!

Wondering how I managed to get to Gen 10 without playing any other save or getting bored when I used to be a chronic rotational gameplayer. It’s by playing the Ascendant Legacy Challenge - I have two Gens left and I am considering playing beyond the challenge to keep my save file going.

🐍 Draconis Family | Generation 1

I’m starting the #TS4AscendantLegacy challenge by @spacesuitsims. 💫 It’s an incredibly detailed astrology-based legacy which I am really excited to explore! Full rules can be found here.

*I will include rules & requirements for each generation at the bottom of the post.*

We begin with my Gen 1 Taurus Rising sim, Evangeline Draconis, as a teenager living at her family’s mansion in Willow Creek. The Draconis line comes from old money and is rich beyond all reason, which is where her love for luxury is born. 💸

💞 Gonzalo and Selina Draconis are proud parents to one dog, Ryder, and six children: young adult Kellan, teen Evangeline & her twin Ciaran, twin children Sawyer and Arcturus, and infant Tate.

Those two certainly got their wish for a large family and are always extremely busy between raising the kids, working full time (Gonzalo is in business & Selina is in law), leading the Game Makers club for the wealthy and elite, and being there for each other. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Luckily, a full-time butler has always lived onsite to help manage the household.

🏙️ Kellan just moved into his first apartment in San Myshuno, where he’s focusing on his music and becoming fast friends with his neighbors, who are all of a similar age.

Evangeline and Ciaran both excel in school and are learning to balance their education alongside their new jobs — Evie works in retail and Ciaran is a lifeguard. 🛟 The twins are extremely close and love to cause mischief, both at school and sometimes at home due to their love of mary jane. 💨

Update: Founder keeps dying! I think there's a glitch or something bc sometimes there isn't even a bad mood and others the Grimm doesn't even show up and there's not cardiac arrest animation, just the Game Over pop up, and the speed is normal so Idk. I've been saving to not restart XD Maybe a high maintenance founder wasn't the best idea since I had never played with that trait.

And now I'm struggling to choose a lifespan, like I think normal is better to finally progress but I have seasons and don't like to have just a week per season but in normal lifespan seems the sim won't experience more than one or two seasons per life stage? I really like long lifespan and two week seasons but seems like a lot of time so, maybe I'll have to get used to change lifespan and seasons through the game and add holidays constantly. Don't like that idea but I play on console so no mods for me :(

AND recently got a new console so I've been playing other games :D but I'm not gonna give up with the challenge. :)

Maybe doing long lifespan for Gen 1 and then switching to normal for Gen 2? I personally play on normal lifespan but I modified a couple lifespans - particularly the teen one since it's too long for me. I think i have 14 day seasons and it means my sims get the holidays twice per lifespan.

Hopefully you resolve the glitch soon and can keep playing :)

Ascendant Legacy Challenge Players

Tell me your fave Gen so far? I want to see who you loved playing as the most and why? Was it the challenges or your sim or their storyline or all of it?

Also tell me your fave partner/spouse you played with? (we all have a fave who makes the game so much better, so spill!)

I think my fave so far was Gen 4, my Sagittarius Gen heir Aidan. I mean look at this whole vibe. Sag gen is also a fun one to play.

I am also loving Gen 8, who is my Aries Gen, Zori. Aries is a grind for sure with the double career but a really fun mix of skills and challenges, especially depending on your house challenges.

Gen 8 might be my fave spouse... I mean childhood friends to lovers, who can’t resist the wholesome vibes.

But... Gen 5 spouse might be my fave.. Mason this absolute puppy dog of a sim. No matter how much drama I wanted him to cause, he just couldn’t be anything but wholesome and nice.

So tell me who your faves are! I want to see them too!

Love your challenge! been trying to do it but I restarted again and again for the most silliest reasons, and then when I really liked my sim and was almost a year in game, the face glitch happened 🙃 I restarted with a new sim recently and got a game over before the first week ended 😅, high maintenance sim in a TLC apt with other 3 lot challenge traits, was always angry and I didn't pay enough attention to her moods. But think I like this one so I'll restart trying to have her always relaxed 😌

OMG!! I got the face glitch too nooo! actually if you age up your sim into a teen, the face glitch is resolved (at least that is what I did for Gen 9). I haven't found another work around yet but at least your sim has a skintone and isnt a weird shadow creature with ever-changing hair and outfit...

I sounds like you are having fun playing and that makes me so proud and happy for you!! Thank you for your message, it really means a lot to know you are having fun and enjoying the challenge!

So, some things I've been doing in my game lately to help me feel better connected/not bored have really been helping create a better connection with the world as a whole, to the point I've been heavily debating rotational gameplay! Let me tell you, I aint felt that connected to my sims in a VERY long time so I consider this an improvement!

Things that helped me feel better about my game/made it fun for me again:

No more speed 3. Stop it. What was the point of the devs making those animations if you ain't even gonna watch? Force yourself to only use speed 1 if your sim ain't asleep or at work, plus your game will run better!

Custom holidays! Update EVERY holiday and really contemplate what you want to achieve out if the holiday. I recommend the 'No Awful Holidays' mod as a fairly realistic/grateful change. Say your sim doesn't feel like celebrating or maybe doesn't like a particular holiday? This means you can also go WILD and add so many new cool holidays! Some holidays I've added; Frog Day, Mental Boost Day, Good Karma Day, Summer Break, Fall Activity Day, Conservation Day, Days specifically for each occult, etc! I'll list more holiday traditions below as well!

Speaking of which, clubs are a great way to create a solid friend group and make them really utilitarian to what skills and relationships you need to boost. Want to get ahead in your career? Coworker group outings! Family needs a park daytrip? There's a club for that! Here are a list of expanded club activities to help you make a club for just about anything!

Give your sims routines! I make it a point now to make my sim go to the bathroom, wash their hands, brush their teeth and get a shower every day. Let's at least give them a better life than depression lol

Changing their style often! Don't get me wrong, I know you worked hard to make your sim perfect the first time but how many times have you changed in your life? How many hair cut styles and colors have you tried? And MCCC is your friend. Use that copy and paste feature in the dresser section to copy your sims current makeup, hair and accessories to cross post to your other outfits and thrive! (This last part is only helpful if you don't want your sims pillow to be covered in lipstick lol)

Take so many pictures. I'm actually not much of a picture taker but I've found taking more pictures has made me feel like I was there for their memories and that's sweet lol it also makes me more invested because I can go back and realize just how much time I've dedicated to my sim. This can be good or bad :p

Playing with walls up. Look I totally used to be a half wall/walls down type but once again, why did you decorate those walls if you wasn't gonna look at em? Plus really gives you that /godmodevibe/

Save often. Crashes suck and I am a spam saver during gameplay but am the worst when it comes to building 🙃 I try to do better but it's hard sometimes and I learn the hard way lol

Go out WAY MORE!! I am a hermit in my real life and I tend to stay 'lot-locked' jut bc I hate the loading screens. Place some of those amazing community lots from the gallery down and explore! More pictures! More memories and more options for story telling; anything can happen in the public lol
