I really liked the black ambulance idea with her, it's this urban legend about an ambulance that takes people to kill them. I don't know why, but when I was drawing her, that was all that was in my mind.

I can't remember if anyone has asked this yet, but how do you feel about Magthan (Mag and Nathan)? And do you have any headcanons for them?
My asks are FINALLY back, SOOOOO...
Here we go!
PROS:
This seriously would've improved a lot for pretty much everyone. Shilo's general quality of life would improve a TON, and she probably wouldn't be stuck in the house, Mag would likely be able to have a general support system in finding a way out of GeneCo that didn't involve dying, and Nathan would be able to work through his baggage over Marni's death.
Shilo gets a functioning family :3
CONS:
Difficulty due to the workplace
Trust issues after Marni's death
HEAVILY differing opinions when it comes to the factor of murder
GENERAL CONSENSUS:
Pretty alright! There are some issues, but these can be worked out pretty quickly and with some communication. The main issue is the general mental states of both characters, but they鈥檇 hopefully be able to help each other improve.聽
HEADCANONS
They both support each other a lot in terms of the whole workplace thing. Both of them have rough days there, and both are there to help the other heal afterwards.
Mag convinces Nathan to get Shilo out of the house and eventually to stop poisoning her medicine, helping ease his fears of having her leave him.
Picnic dates. Picnic dates. Enough said. PICNIC DATES.
Nathan is a godly baker. Seriously, this man makes the best cookies. After Marni died, he didn鈥檛 want to let little traditions like making birthday cakes go, so he did his best to learn his late wife鈥檚 recipes and techniques. He keeps the tradition going with his new family.聽
Nathan is cheesy as hell and likes homemade cards. Good for him, Mag thinks it's fricking adorable.

AT THE OPERA TONIGHT: AN IDIOT'S ANALYSIS
Shilo:
I must be brave.

My interpretation, featuring the fact that I don't like Shilo:
"I must be brave," like, girlypop, BRAVE FOR WHAT?? You're literally going to a free concert, becoming a celebrity, and getting your blood disease cured. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, because sneaking out of the house is pretty scary, but this is also a very small thing to have to 'be brave' about compared to literally almost everyone else here.
Blind mag:
I've made my peace.
Nathan/repo man:
No chance for peace!
Blind mag:
I hold no grudge.
Nathan/repo man:
I'll end this grudge.

This portion of the song is clearly to show the direct way that Nathan and Mag are opposites, especially with their thoughts of the genuine danger that both of them are facing at the opera tonight. While Mag is fully willing and accepting of the fact that she is going to die, Nathan holds a grudge and aims to fight the clearly impossible circumstances, likely not wanting to face death due to his loss of Marni. I'd like to assume that due to viewing and assuming that he caused the death of Marni, he holds himself at a position where he refuses to end the way she did as a sort of trauma response. Because face it: Accidentally killing your wife is pretty traumatic.

Amber, despite not having any surgery in the moment before the show, feels that she needs Zydrate for it, showing that not only is she completely addicted, but also not confident in her ability to perform without it. Graverobber is clearly concerned about her intake of it, telling her to take it slow, but she persists. In turn, he pretty much says "Fuck you" and grants her the drugs.

Luigi is clearly angry about the circumstances of the general situation, but this can't really be discerned whether it's about the opera as a whole or a small portion of his life. Pavi views this as a normal event, literally just focused on sex, and Rotti is anticipating the bloodshed and general tragedy that is intended to be brought as a whole. This further cements the idea that, as I've said previously, Rotti is a whole can of worms when it comes to being a horrible person.

The only notes for this section are on Mag's lines, which give an eerie foreboding of the fact that she fully understands what's intended to happen to her and welcomes the possibility. However, factoring in the events of Chromaggia, this can be viewed as a sort of dare, in a sense, as it's clear that she never intended to allow a Repo Man to take her eyes in the first place. When that meaning of the lyric is factored in, it pins a slightly more disturbing lens on the situation.

No, this is a good point. Seriously, literally everyone in Repo has fucked up, and realistically, every character isn't exactly a good person, but the contrast is that some characters are better people than others, but their flaws are still SO evident.
Graverobber literally robs graves, sells drugs, and has sex with women that are drugged up. Nathan KILLS PEOPLE and poisoned his daughter. Marni cheated on Rotti and was overall flat out manipulative. Mag sells products that kill people. Shilo is irresponsible and respectfully, flat out stupid to the point where if she'd made a few different choices, multiple things could've changed drastically for the better. Rotti's a WHOLE CAN OF WORMS that I am NOT getting into because that'd make this too long. And the post above explains the Largos literally so well, so go take a gander.
My point is, everyone in this movie is objectively not a good person, but based on the character, some are severely better than others, and THAT'S IMPORTANT. That's honestly a good message, because the thing is, it shows that even bad people can be better sometimes. I'm not justifying, but I am just saying how important the theme of having characters like this really it.
scrolling through the repo! tag and seeing the way people interpret the largos as if they're in any way sympathetic or likeable is such a baffling example of how dead media literacy is.
like in multiple interviews, terrance zdunich and darren smith talk about how the largos are supposed to be so comically unlikeable that even a man as reprehensible of a person as rotti largo detests them. the joke is that the world of repo! is so horrible and dystopian that the comic relief are, in terrance zdunich's words, "a murderer and a rapist".
no, the largos would not go on to denounce their father and turn geneco into a benevolant company that changes sanitarium into a utopia of opportunity and life. like that would NOT happen, luigi is aggressive and power-hungry, pavi is as power-hungry as it gets considering he's a literal rapist who wears dead people's faces and amber is a spoilt womanchild who whines and moans and will do even the most degrading and dangerous stuff to get her way (fucking graverobber for drugs so she can keep getting obscene amounts of surgery). amber is slightly more sympathetic and she is meant to be, she's taken far more seriously than luigi and pavi but she's still a terrible person who intimidates and assaults people (Z'd up shouting at shilo, groping luigi's balls and licking his face, throwing tokens at graverobber, just to name a few)
"b-but it says geneco becomes committed to change!" that's something we like to call in the movie world a "joke". the change they're committed to is absolutely not going to be good - it's ran by a fashion surgery & drug addict, do you genuinely think amber sweet, after having absolutely zero character development and being humiliated and booed offstage, would genuinely want to make geneco, the company she didn't even want, a better/more ethical business?
the largos suck. that's sort of the whole point. you can like them without endorsing their actions, literally every single person in repo! has done something terrible except shilo and that's the point. the whole point is, in this world, the only good person is a girl who was kept trapped in her bedroom her whole life and never exposed to the cruel outside world.
but obviously enjoy what you want, this has been a weird misreading of characters since the fandom originated in late 2008, like i know it's always been here and it's not going away soon. it was just bugging me and this is my repo account so i wanted to share my thoughts lmfao
