litecoin-cli: how to get block's txs?
litecoin-cli: how to get block's txs?
Hi I am querying via rpc litecoin-cli. There are some differences from bitcoin-cli that I immediately found and can't figure out how to know :
txs, outs, ins
fees/txs: min, mid, max
of the block?
Is there any way to get that kind of data, like bitcoin-cli provide in getblockstats(hash_or_height) method?
I printed help to see if I can find something, but my eye can't catch anything related to data I am looking for. Do you know how to get that? Heres my help echo

Insta-mining problems, how to prevent being outgunned? And difficulty + adjustments
Insta-mining problems, how to prevent being outgunned? And difficulty + adjustments
I created a new coin to learn something about Bitcoin. I cloned the source code, called it something different, put a new logo on it, nothing major. Then I made some nodes available, and put the source on github.
The number of connections (aside from me) to the nodes reflected the number of git clones. I'm sure I had an instamine problem, where the hashrate went up and the difficulty went up so that I wasn't able to catch up quick enough and outgun the miners. Even when I did point significant hashpower at my new pool, I just made the difficulty go way up. I mined blocks, but they were orphaned. So was I mining on a different chain? i.e. the "wrong" one that broke off from the original that I wanted to catch up with?
There have been some ideas on preventing an instamine. One is to mine a large number of blocks, and before putting out the source code and making it available for anyone, just hobbyists I would hope, and this is to mine at least 1000 blocks over a while, then put in the chainwork and checkpoint for block 1000. Would that help, or does the difficulty need to be much higher as well?
In other words, do I need to keep mining a good number of blocks and increase the hashpower so the difficulty becomes infeasible (I would hope) for a very fast instamine?
How does this relate to difficulty adjustments? I was thinking of a rather dumb change to the code that could somehow detect a sudden increase in hashrate over the previous block mined, and adjust the difficulty way up somehow but also to keep the timespan between blocks at 2 minutes, if that's possible.
Would it be possible in the code to reject a block if there has been a sudden increase in hashrate >= 30% over the previous 1 or 2 minutes? I would hope to prevent a majority attack this way, but I'm unsure at this point.
My new coin I decided to try and learn something from is a clone of Litecoin, using scrypt. I've adjusted it for 2 minute blocks, 120 second adjustment intervals, and 63,000,000 coins, with initial block reward of 150 coins. The block halving subsidy remains the same as for Litecoin, every X blocks.
I've heard of algorithms like MIDAS described on bitcointalk, and others I wouldn't understand at this point. What I would like to achieve is to prevent instamining and try to make any adjustments necessary (would they be if I mined and enforced the chainwork and checkpoints later?) so that the coin produces a block roughly every 2 minutes, and I would hope the current difficulty adjustments are good enough to keep it in check so the difficulty can go up and down depending on how much hashpower is being put in, minus the sudden spikes I want to try and prevent.
Thank you if you have any suggestions or tips, or reading material.

Activation of SegWit v1
Activation of SegWit v1
The segregated witness soft fork of August 2017 included a versioning field which would allow for future incrementation. Anthony Towns has recently posted an early draft of the proposal for the SegWit v1 upgrade to the mailing list.
Although the devil is of course in the details, how could such an upgrade process look like?
What are the different upgrade mechanism for the major [v1 - v16] and minor [v1.0 - v1.127] version changes?
How is the soft fork signaled?
How is the consensus change enforced?
Is the v1 change as "contentious" and time consuming as v0 was?
What are the tasks of node operators and miners?
Thank you in advance for the answer!

How to transfer bitcoin to Electrum wallet anonymously
How to transfer bitcoin to Electrum wallet anonymously
I'm using Electrum with Tor proxy, i will receive bitcoins from another wallet that i used to buy bitcoins using my ID.
Is it safe? The server that host my wallet on electrum will know that i got these bitcoins from "another wallet"? If so, what can i do about? I don't want to be associated with the Wallet that i used to buy bitcoins using my ID.
I'm thinking about do it: Wallet used to buy bitcoins -> bitcoin mixer -> A random Web wallet -> bitcoin mixer -> Electrum wallet.

Uniquely identifying a UTXO
Uniquely identifying a UTXO
I see two ways:
Txid + index
Txid + script hash
Pros of the txid + index:
Simple and short
Cons of txid + index:
It relies on array iteration being deterministic and all third party services using the same iteration method.
Txid + script hash does not rely on iteration order and since script hashes are stored on the blockchain they are not malleable after 6 confirmations.
Which would be the preferred way to go?

What can 1 master public key in a multisig reveal?
What can 1 master public key in a multisig reveal?
Assume you have the following situation: You are going to create a new multisig wallet with Electrum. 2 signatures are from old hardware wallets and 1 signature is brand new.
The new multisig will only be used with Electrum and Electrum personal server connected to Bitcoin Core. The 2 old signatures from the hardware wallets has been used with the hardware wallets own wallets (like Ledger Live and Trezor Wallet). Then I guess we can assume that the master public keys from those 2 wallets has been uploaded to some server somewhere and could be "leaked".
From a privacy standpoint, if I create a new multisig, is it possible to get any information from the 2 old master public keys? Or, do you need all 3 keys?
Would it be a good practice to create two new master public keys (by "reinstalling" the old hardware wallets) and create a new multisig with 3 brand new keys (and treat them with more care in the future)? Or is it fine, because 1 key is new?

If a bitcoin wallet service provider terminates a users account, what happens to the funds?
If a bitcoin wallet service provider terminates a users account, what happens to the funds?
A friend of mine has/had a bitcoin wallet service provided by an online marketplace. Sounds like he had some kind of disagreement with the site administrators and they terminated his account. At that time, he still had some BTC in the wallet. Not a lot (about $50.00 USD or so), but still.
Is there any way to recover the funds, or are we all at the mercy of our wallet service providers in that respect?
Seeing as all transactions are recorded in the ledger, I figured perhaps there's some way to claim/prove/declare ownership. It seems pretty thin, but surely there's some kind of safeguard in place, otherwise wallet service providers could exploit that trust and just terminate all their customers accounts and take all their funds with impunity at any moment. Right?

Generating first block after genesis block in PoS altcoin
Generating first block after genesis block in PoS altcoin
I'm currently developing a test altcoin in educational purposes, and can't for some reason generate first pow blocks after generating genesis block. Couple of years ago i successfully made workable fork of fork of dash (or something similar with terribly outdated codebase), but I'm totally unable to reproduce it with modern codebase.
So, to the point. I used PIVX repo, changed chainparams.cpp accordingly:
removed old checkpoints;
generated new keys;
updated ports all over the codebase;
changed pchMessageStart numbers;
updated unixtime;
changed coin name all over the codebase;
generated genesis (and it was correct, i checked it many times);
compiled it;
launched coind;
launched cpuminer, and it failed with the following in log:
2019-02-28 16:55:09 ERROR: CheckProofOfWork() : hash doesn't match nBits 2019-02-28 16:55:09 ERROR: CheckBlockHeader() : proof of work failed 2019-02-28 16:55:09 ERROR: CheckBlock() : CheckBlockHeader failed 2019-02-28 16:55:09 CreateNewBlock() : TestBlockValidity failed
I re-generated genesis with code in chainparams.cpp - it was the same as with genesis generator. I tried gen=1 and setgenerate true, and again received the same error, and hashespersec=0 in getmininginfo.
I started searching the web, and found a lot of same questions without any answer. For example, this one looks absolutely same - Cannot mine Genesis / First Block (PIVX Fork / Clone)
I tried the kind of solution from this thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2152157.0;prev_next=next - but without any success too.
I assumed that maybe i'm missing something, and tried to do the same with some other PIVX forks. The first one was this - https://github.com/IchibaCoin/ICHIBA - with the same error. The second one was this - https://github.com/cruxcoinsource/CruxCoin - with the same error too. Then i scratched my head, thought deeply, and run diff for all files in /src/ folder of both coins with my testcoin. Files were totally same and differed only where they were different between crux and ichiba.
I tried all possible combinations of bools in this part of chainparams.cpp:
fMiningRequiresPeers = true; fAllowMinDifficultyBlocks = false; fDefaultConsistencyChecks = false; fRequireStandard = true; fMineBlocksOnDemand = false; fSkipProofOfWorkCheck = false; fTestnetToBeDeprecatedFieldRPC = false; fHeadersFirstSyncingActive = false;
And when fMineBlocksOnDemand was set to true, command setgenerate true returned that wallet keypool is empty, and keypoolrefill command had no effect.
What am i doing wrong?..)))
