Physical Ranged DPS
Bard
This is something I picked up in ... I think late Heavensward or Stormblood, because I wanted to try out a new job. Leveled it to 50 and then didn't bother to look at it again because I found it not really suitable for me. And yeah, lv50 Bard does not feel good (like, so many other jobs at that level to be fair), and I felt not doing damage at all. DoT upkeep was something new to me at that time, so maybe it was that. Now on my lv90 journey I have to say it gets much better, there are quite a few things to do, yet still I have to say it's not really my playstyle. Definitely can vibe with it here and there, but it's not my preferred choice.
I'll have to admit I don't remember anything about the quest up to lv50 ... there was a Moogle. Hm. But after that it was very Gridanian, with gay people added. I did like the search for the song, I think that was really neat.
Machinist
Surprised me how much fun I have with it! Funny buttons go brr, there is so much you can do at once, it becomes quite fast paced later down the line. I like it a lot! So much so that I'm actually farming raids with it. Honestly grown to love it a lot.
Obviously as a job introduced in Ishgard, the quest was very Ishgardian and this was quite neat if you're into the whole Ishgardian stuff! Really felt like some side-plot to Heavensward, extremly love how Hilda is incorporated in it - yay for another job NPC in MSQ - so that was cool! Liked that one, even though I have to say I kind of expected more of the lv80 quest, but that's just a slight nitpick there.
Dancer
Dancer was my first lv90 physical range, because I wanted to do the EW Role quests. It is definitely something I enjoyed leveling a lot, the kit can be very random, but still I think it is very neat because of that! Can dish out more damage than one may think. Definitely would play it more if I had the chance to, but right now I'm feeling MCH more.
The premise of the questline was neat tbh. We ignore Gridania here for a moment, and I feel the Keeper girl could have been treated better, but It Is What It Is. I feel like she and Nimda could be friends. More so did I like the lv80 quest for it, this one was really nice.

(me getting increasingly nervous as my wifi became as bastard, and the queue kept ticking up during the time it was behaving.)
But, for a blessing, the wifi behaved perfectly, and the snow system (well, Fray really, but I'd rather not randomly tank a trial) made it through with 0 KO's.
Congratulations, Fray has just unwittingly participated in the murder of a god. This shall have Consequences.

Melee DPS
Monk
That definitely was ... an interesting journey! I believe this is one of the most enjoyable jobs to play at lv50. And from lv60 on it already feels quite complete, which I really like. The rotation is crazy (positive), and while there definitely is a clear path for it, I jumble over my own buttons and fail after a time lol, but I must say I really like it.
I get why Monk is one of the poster jobs for Stormblood, it adds lore and context to it and it was so cool to see. Shoutout to the two Monk catgirls ... Rooting for you.
Dragoon
The second class I ever picked up, back when I was playing ARR, and used it on the side doing MSQ. Unfortunately I haven't really played it ever since I finished EW and only use it solely in PVP now. But I have definitely grown to it, straight forward rotation, I do like this kit, but I can see improvements made - which they will hopefully do, let's see!
It's been quite a while since I did that job quest for it, I do remember being annoyed to venture back and forth for the quest in Stormblood though. However I think a charm point is truly Estinien becoming a main character just like that. I think they should do this more often, having others just randomly appear and stay a while tbh.
Ninja
A job I enjoyed playing, but I have to say I don't really have ... strong emotions to it I think. I don't want to say it feels bland to me, I don't think it's the right word. Something like "if I had to choose a melee dps it's not what I would be going for". The Mudra are nice. Why do we get the second AOE at lv52 - but anyways! I don't think there is anything wrong with it in a whole. Maybe it's just not my playstyle I don't know hm.
I found the quests quite enjoyable I have to say! Truly unique characters honestly. Very ... Naruto Ninja. Including the gay people. Definitely a questline I enjoyed more than others!
Samurai
Became a secret favorite not going to lie. I had extremly fun discovering how all of this works, the sheer damage you can do with everything feels so good. Intuitive rotation I have to say, you press funny buttons and it's beautiful. Truly truly enjoyed this one!
The quest ... - not to repeat myself but - is very Samurai and I liked that. From Samurai Masters to people trying to find their purpose among other Samurai. Betrayal. It definitely had me looking forward to the next quest each time.
Reaper
Surprising no one when I say this became my fave Melee. It was something I picked up right after I finished EW back then, because I wanted to learn a new class and I was hooked. Funny scythe goes swish swoosh. Absolutely adore this kit, lv90 feels awesome (lv70 not so much), and I can't wait to see what they are cooking for it next.
Yeah the quest may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I do like how it ties basically into post-EW somewhat. Definitely like the background lore they created with it, which also leaves much playground to toy with. And because of that I do have to say I enjoyed that one.

Healer
White Mage
I'll have to note that WHM was the first Healer i picked up a long time ago, just to see what it was about. I didn't even get to 50 before I quit because I truly was not vibing with it at all. To be fair, I was all not comfortable and didn't really understand. Now in the 90 journey I did understand better and still - I just don't vibe with such a Healer class at all lol. Definitely look up to people who can play this class well.
Ah yes, the job quests ... of course it had to be this way, because it is Conjurer / White Mage's entire thing, yet still I wish it showed some criticism to Gridania / Padjal / Elementals. It sure is a questline, hm.
Scholar
Sorry for being a SMN main, I do not know anything about Scholar - I only know there are a lot of Buttons. Godspeed.
The questline was neat! The lore was enjoyable and am glad this was explored. And ... that's all I can say really ...
Astrologian
I was really scared to play this tbh, because of my bad experience with WHM and AST was another Regen Healer. But it turned out I liked this one a lot better, there are many things to do - cards to draw, cards to apply, damage buff, etc. Like I can do things in between that doesn't involve me healing and press a button for damage, I can actually support my party in other ways. Ended up appreciating it a lot.
The questline was ... interesting. I do have to admit that I like Sharlyan-things, so playing this post EW was very funny in hindsight. Liked that one!
Sage
... And now my main Healer class. Idk what it is at Sage, but I feel the most comfortable with that one. Maybe it is the insta-cast heal things, maybe it's the funny shields I can apply with the Eukrasia toggle (though btw Eukrasia-off button when), the Toxikon implimentation with that, the non-lock-on AOE attack, ... there is a lot I really like. I'm definitely trying to make this one of the main classes I play, because I really have fun with it.
The introduction quest for Sage has imo the best tutorial for a new class. And like I said before, I do like some Sharlyan shenanigans - and again, I ended up enjoying it. The plottwist of "I just want to help others and aren't evil at all" does really get me sometimes.

Paladin
I'll be honest, this entire journey kind of started with "you would like to know if the saying that the Paladin quest is really bad is true or not", and I have to say, yeah, I'm not sure what they were thinking with 30-50. Though 60-70 were entertaining (also the fact I chose my Paladin glam before I did this quest and then this guy wears the same thing?? amazing) - sadly it doesn't truly have something to do with Paladin. Kind of wished there was just Something there.
And I also have to admit I'm not really vibing with the kit. Could be because I haven't done much with it at lv90, but I don't really have motivation to look into it and just prefer other tanks for it.
Warrior
Kind of became a secret favorite of mine, maybe because it is easy to understand and you just press funny buttons and it works and you just don't die.
Job quest I found decent enough - it was funny as a small Miqo'te to do this among these big Roegadyn, and I really liked Dorgono. Rooting for you, girl, really.
Dark Knight
There is no denying that I really really like Dark Knight. I like playing it. I only kind of wish I had another button for some kind of healing, but it's Fiiiine.
There is also absolutely no denying that the job quest is one of the best stories in the game and I stand by it. It is what made me choose a first tank for myself in the first place and I was not disappointed. Dark Knight quest changes you fr. Also don't forget the pet your Esteem today.
Gunbreaker
Fast. I think that's really unique. I do like the kit and tbh if I played it more I would also appreciate it more. Definitely vibe with it more than Paladin.
That job quest was interesting - I do like how it's (unfortunately) a lost art, but also the hope that with you and Thancred and as such, knowing there are more survivors, it will not be forgotten. Truly something about protecting the people you love. ... Which is very fitting for Thancred.
