In the blinding light of the March afternoon, the sweet sound of happiness surrounded the compound. Everyone was so happy for the unusually hot day at the beginning of spring. Bucky was resting in the shade, his eyes on the latest book you had given him to read. You watch his eyes following the text, oblivious to the world outside his book, except his metal hand which rested on your shin as your legs lay across him, his thumb drawing circles on your skin. You had managed to find the perfect spot, the sun shining on your glowing skin but still able to sit next to your best friend, who preferred the shade.
Sam and his Girlfriend had little baby Riley in the pool for her first swim, the little darling floating in her mother’s arms without a care in the world as Sam and Steve stood watching with a beer in hand, Natasha sat behind Steve with her legs dangling into the pool either side of Steve as she rested back on her arms soaking up the sun. Tony was cooking up something on the BBQ which smelt amazing while Pepper sunbathed close by and Morgan played with Peter in the pool. Wanda and Vision had disappeared inside some time ago, which wasn’t unusual for them.
You could hardly believe this was your life, the blessing of such company. Your family.
